I just got this surgery done on both the 5th and 4th metacarpals, 2 screws inserted 20 days ago. I will keep you guys updated on the progress and how my hand heals
@@chillucho3032 It is healing well, i’ve been doing hand Therapy twice a week to get full range of motion back and to be able to make a fist. So far i cannot make a full fist, my index finger range of motion is improving better than the pinky knuckle. It’s slow progress but doing the recommended stretches have been helping with stiffness and hoping to be able to make a fist soon. Btw My surgery was on January 10th, 2 months ago for time reference.

My ring finger knuckle has been progressing better than my pinky knuckle, and the ring finger is getting closer to making a fist, i still cannot bend the pinky knuckle to make a full fist but i am doing my daily exercises, stretches and going to the therapist 2 times a week and she goes in hard to make sure i get full motion back but it’s taking time, maybe 8 months until i am able to make a full fist. It all depends on your timeline and how fast you want to get full motion back. It is now exactly 3 months today since I got surgery. Let me know if you have any questions. I left my boxers fracture untreated and i went doctor after several years and the doctor said me nothing can be done but my. Hand become stronger than before😊so I'm happy with what i have😊
I am a 13-year-old who just got the same exact fracture. Would I need to have the surgery done on my hand? I’m currently still in my soft cast but I’m getting my hard cast tomorrow.
The nurses will not be able to hold that drill straight there’s no way, plus that hammer technically would go deeper then the pre drilled hole indefinitely would cause potential split in bone, this looked harsh asf but something I may need to consider …. Man fmd frfr
I had one long screw put into my 5th metacarpal today, said I’d be in a splint for one week and have freedom and back to normal next Monday. Bone will heal around screw
@@islamicreminders3090 it’s a screw. Healing process according to doctor went well, but I still have pain around the area. Bone itself healed fine, but still having pain for some reason. Mostly full range of motion though
@@islamicreminders3090 just be glad they are going to get removed later then! If you are going under anesthesia for surgery then be ready to forget the 10 minutes leading up to that and all of surgery, was super weird for me haha
