      But Saturn's rings are smaller and tighter. You don't want the rings to be too big and stretched out. That's gross. Though some are into that.

    • @scoutalden6004

      the reason saturns rings are smaller is because its older, so i could go technichal here and say that saturns smarter because its older, but nobody take it out of me that planets dont have feelings

    You can change the lens flare and the defraction spikes to your liking in the gear settings on the lower left.
    The circles in the bars of the UI can actually make them disappear as well, coming back when you mouse over their proximity, and thus making it more immersive. Bloom will make planets appear more beautiful as well. (if you haven't visited stars yet, I recommend Betelgeuse or UY Scuti, a star with a radius of 7.70AU :))

    Interesting video. Any theories on how the rings became so big or what they could be made out of? Or are they made out of a bunch of elements with the lightest elements separated from heavier elements due to the centrifuge of the planet?

    • @geoffreybrunell5592
      @geoffreybrunell5592 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rings probably got so big because of the immense gravitational pull of the planet. If you look at the g-force of the planet, you will see that it is about 62 g's, which means that the planet's sphere of influence is massive!

    Im surprised the gravity of the planet can even keep those rings in orbit.

      I'm guessing the mass of the rings does more about that than the planet. But I too have trouble believing that this is a thing that could happen.

    I don't think the rings are there anymore since we are looking at it 420 years ago

    • @FEVB
      @FEVB 8 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Why would that matter? 420 years is nothing in cosmic time. Saturn has had it's rings form millions if not billions of years.

    • @tylerjohnson3728

      Francis Aaron Joloan yes but since we are located 420 light years away from this system we see it 420 years in the past. Because a light year is the time in which distance light travels in a years that means it takes the light from this planet 420 years to reach us hence we see it’s past version from 420 years ago

  • @ginsan8198
    @ginsan8198 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    If that star system is assumed as very young, then it is also possible to assume that the dimming was not caused by a single planet with a massive ring system, but by a bunch of other objects which were not fully constructed into planetary bodies. Or not? Idk.
