Hi Jeff. I live in zone 9B central Florida. I have a very tiny lot .13..We are planting a mini food forest figs, mulberry, starfruit, bananas to name a few... My question is can you prune lychees to maintain about 6-8 ft…In a pot?…If so what size pot would that be?..I do know these trees get huge. ..Just wondering if this is even possibly on our tiny postage stamp. Thank you for your time.

Hi my lychee plants from seed start great in containers, rich soil, rain water when possible but - leaves turn dry like brown paper. Stopped using fertilizer thought maybe they were burnt… Not looking for fruit just want healthy plants, any idea?

Thanks so much for the video. I started my tropical garden this year. Had about 28 fruit trees, i.e logan, lychee, chamoya, jujube, etc. 🌸

I have lychee plant in a pot and it is flowering now. But the leaves are brown at the end. I live in Perth, Western Australia. It is spring now, going into summer. I would like to know why the tips of leabes are brown. Thanks

I’d say soil conditions or fertilization is the cause.
They really don’t like fertilizer or tap water

Nice to see how your air layers are doing, Jeff. I've managed to keep my seedling lychee alive for the time being lol 😂. Unfortunately getting a grafted or air layered one in the UK seemed quite difficult.

Hmmm, I’d think they’d grow them in Spain ?

    • @PeterEntwistle
      @PeterEntwistle ปีที่แล้ว

@@TropicalGardenGuy yeah, they do grow some in Spain. There is one Spanish nursery that I know has them and still does ship to the UK, so I might get one from them in the future. But it is quite a hassle to import them due to new regulations now we aren’t in the EU anymore.

Holly-tone has NPK of 4-3-4. Nitrogen is still higher than other 2 elements.
I have sweetheart in 15 gallon pots. They don't have issues of flowering; however fruit all dropped when they reached pea size. 😞

I use Hollytone on my tree inground but very little in potted plants

    • @TropicalGardenGuy

If you add npk of moorebloom 0.10.10 to Hollytone 4.3.4 , then you get a total 4.13.14

I bought a lychee tree in a 3 gallon pot. It already had some branches that had fruit when purchased. Suddenly, the tree started losing its leaves and the little fruit it had are falling out and drying. It started to happen like a month after i bought it. What can I do??? I don't want it to die. Any suggestions. Thank you for your video.

      Did u fertilize it?
It’s hard to say without seeing conditions etc.
When in doubt I often repot it with fresh high quality potting soil.

Which tastes the best lychees, longans, or the Spanish limes which are basically the same as lychees or longans but I don't know about flavor wise. Thanks Jeff

      Taste is quite subjective.
I personally like lychees slightly better , but longans are quite tasty as well

    Hi
I live in Tracy California. I love ur videos. Recently bought a Longan plant from LA. It is in a 25 g pot. But its leaves are scorched and turned brown and fruits buds are prematurely reaped out. Please give me some advice. How can I treat the tree. Thank you.

Hard to say without knowing all the conditions.

No fertilizer and irrigated only when it feels dry
