    May I recommend 'A Broom at Midnight: 13 Gates of Witchcraft by Spirit Flight' ? This book really hits the mark and Roger Horne has an accessible style of writing.

    I find it fascinating to see what others are reading and if they like them, etc. Listening to you describe it, I realize I need to get Gemma Gary’s book. I’m reading Thorn’s book now and enjoying it. Would love to see a video about your reading wishlist for 2023! Thanks for another great video!

      I loved Gemma’s book but I do suggest to go in with no expectations as it might be different than what you are used to, her style is quite unique!
      And I love that video idea thank you!

    Yesssssss I absolutely adored Corine Boyer's Plant's of the Devil. Def a stand out for me this year. I can't wait to read more by her. I think another one of my faves this year was A Deed Without a Name by Lee Morgan - that was 🤩 . I read Thorns book at the end of 2021 and I loved it too. I actually think I'd like to revisit some of the exercises as I'm feeling that I'm in quite a transitory place right now personally and its impacting a lot on my practice. I haven't read the Black Toad yet but I did love Silent as the trees by Gemma Gary which is more about Devonshire folklore. Have you seen Gemma's new release I sooooo want to get a first edition. I added the new Ronald Hutton book to my list as well...Just sooooo many books and so little time. I recently finished the wicked shall decay which as fantastic, and gearing myself up to read Veneficium by Daniel Shulke... the only thing is ive heard it's quite poetic and you can get lost in it but I tend to read in the evening after the kids are in bed when I'm usually a bit spacey anyway lol so I think I might need to try to read it in the mornings 🤔 😂 Also congratulations again of course, what a wonderful job you did on your book 📖👏🥳such an incredible achievement 💜Have a wonderful holiday and blessings for 2023 Xxxx

    I’ve only very recently found your channel & really appreciate your videos. I am a U.K. Crone Witch who has been on the crooked path for decades but I have still just ordered your book of spells because it looks absolutely beautiful.
    I have been deeply exploring the poison path too & am growing my own magical herbs to facilitate this practice

      Thank you so much! ♥️ Yes I find myself quite drawn to the poison path too and Corinne Boyer is an excellent author on this topic! I would love to grow my own herbs as well but we live in a city with limited space - one day!

    Looks a fabulous interesting video thank you for posting! Any ideas on spells to change your bad luck? As the amount of bad luck and ill health I have is unbelievable my family have started calling me jinx! I wonder sometimes have I been cursed! I've tried some basic spells myself and bought items by wiccans on eBay to ward off bad luck and negative energy but unfortunately no improvement. Thank you and blessed be. P.s. will check your book out! Heading to Amazon now

    ich wäre sehr interessiert an buchempfehlungen für deutsche bücher, weil mein englisch einfach so schlecht ist, dass ich es nach nem langen tag und viel stress einfach nicht schaffe über eine längere zeit ein buch auf englisch zu lesen. von daher würden mir deutsche buchtipps über magie sehr helfen. falls dir ein video zu aufwändig ist, könntest sonst vielleicht ein post darüber auf insta machen? das würde mir auch schon sehr helfen :)

    Am I tripping or was your major at uni anthropology? I don‘t remember where I picked that up- probably on insta- but I feel like I remember you talking about it (and I might be completely wrong) but I was wondering how you could keep the academic world from the magick world apart as I, too study anthropology and I sometimes struggle with that

    • @EllaHarrison
      @EllaHarrison  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I have a bachelors in social and cultural anthropology! Honestly I do find that they weave together a lot and I find a lot of excellent writing from anthropologists on the topic of witchcraft and ritual, magic etc. I think I have started to lean more and more into an academic approach to magic with time, but I am naturally a sceptic so I like to understand or at least attempt to understand the why, how, when etc of magic. However, sometimes we get into our own way with that. I love the quote ‘Magic is just science we don’t understand yet’ - just because we can logically and historically explain magic, doesn’t make it less magical. This gets very philosophical but let’s take birth and birthing rituals as an example - we now understand the process and we understand why birthing rituals exist, but it still in incredible that a human with a soul comes into existence from birth - it’s a bit of daily magic! Does that make sense? 😅
