- In todays video we recap a little of the history of the Datsun 240z Im building for my wife, I ,make some more metal repairs and fully weld drivers side floor pans and even start laying down some primer! hope you guys enjoy!!
Bro, it's very gratifying to see how much the project has evolved, you're simply incredible, I built the car practically from scratch There's a lot of dedication involved, I'm very proud! 😁🇧🇷
Yoooooo!! Thanks bro!!! Alot has been done still got a lot to do but I appreciate the encouragement and support!!!
Lots of tedious work behind the scenes! Great to see some primer on the car! The challenge is what makes these projects fun🤟 keep it up!
Yooo! Alec, Yesssirrr!! You know its a grind bro.. And its a challenge for sure!!! All part of the journey!!! Keep crushing it bro!! Thanks for the support!!!
Dusty, the journey you have embarked on is one that you have taken every viewer along. Mistakes are a part of life and a learning experience. It's looking awesome. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Imagine when you give the keys to your bride, how beautiful that will be. Quality is better than quantity. May God bless the work of your hands 🙏😁👍💯
Thanks Nelson!!!! Man that will be a great feeling when she can fire it up for the first time!!!!! Yesssir I just got hyped!!! Appreciate the thoughts and support!!!🤘🏻💯
So proud of all your work. It's looking good. Dad is looking down smiling and is so proud of what you have accomplished and that you are putting his welding stuff to good use instead of it just sitting in his shop doing nothing. We are so proud of you😊❤
Thanks for the kind words!!!! I can only inagine how much further Id be with all my projects if Dad could help me with them!! But he is always with me in my heart!!!!! Love ya!!
First coat of primer is always the, "What did I miss" coat 🤣
Ha ha ...What did I miss coat.....Facts 😂 😂
Boet, you are outhere doing your thing. Teaching us through your experiences. This is the things that enthiasts like to see. Learning through your experiences. Only people who havent done this kinda thing will criticize. You keeping doing your thing.
Yoooo! Adin, Thanks for the continued support throughout this journey!! Defintley appreciate your thoughts and kind words!!!! Give that Rx7 a few braps for me will ya?!🏎🚦🏁
Bro, give yourself some credit.. we all put our pants on one leg at a time!!
I’m starting a 1973 260z build just about the same time you did and with everything I have going on your miles ahead of me!! Keep your head up high my guy, your doing great!!
Dusty I feel a sense of " this thing is rougher than I thought" from you but continue doing your thing. Consistency is key and that is what you have been. A built is never easy especially for the pros and if you ask them they will tell you. You have made great strides so just gwaan tek your time making those baby steps and watch how the Lord a guh work things out for you. Thank you for always being authentic and vulnerable since you have started this build and we all are routing for you. So tek you time cause we deh yah and we not going anywhere until this build is completed. It is not a quick sprint race, it's a marathon and you have what it takes to take us through to the finish line. God bless you and your family
Yooo!! Scottie!! As always I appreciate the support and feedback bro!! Yeah I gotta keep focusing on steady progress foward!!! Im glad to hear you guys are with me till the finish 😃and yep a "marathon" it is 😂
Yooo!! Thanks for the encouragment and support!!!! One pants leg at a time 😂 facts!!! Good luck with your Z build as well 😃
The honesty is refreshing about how much it sucks sometimes - especially when you're doing it on the cheap. Keep your nose to the stone Dusty! We're all DIY'ers and that's why these videos are so helpful. Use painters tape to create a V on the paint bucket, helps create a pour spout, and will keep the paint out of the ridge for when you re-seal the can. @motionautotv trick!
Yooo Dustin!!!!Thanks bro!!! Yep it does suck sometimes but its worth it in the end!!!! Yeah I need to rewatch the paint can/tape trick. I tried something similar with the tape in a un filmed clip and I made it worse 😂 😂 made a good mess 😂
I'm amazed at all the talents you have and by what you have done on the 240z. Incredible ❤
Awww thanks Mom!!! Love ya!!!!
Car is looking great man. Keep up the amazing work!
Yooo!!! Thanks for the support!!!!
You can fix anything with time, money and effort. I have no clue about the money side, but certainly the time and effort you've put in to this will make it an amazing car at the end. Keep pushing. One job done is one checked off the list and one job closer to complete.
Facts!!!!! Thanks for the comment and support!! Slowly I will keep checking things off the list!!!! We will get there!!
Stoked on the primer man, looks great, can’t wait for it to be completely primed and ready for paint!
Yoooo! Grant.... Me either bro!!!! It will be such a good feeling 😃
"Sometimes car builds suck!" 😅 So true boet. I've got a lot of boring work ahead of me...
Ha ha. It is true sometimes. Your build is coming along great Div!!!!
Keep on keeping on!!!
Thanks buddy!!!! 😃
Thanks a bunch. Great Show
Thanks bro!!!! Feedback Greatly appreciated!!!!
Man, that sure was a beautiful video, getting better and better everytime. You know, this week I've made some steel grills for my mom's house front windows, and while I know its not a car project, you videos poped up in my mind quite often doing that. It had been a few years since I last picked up the grinder and welder.
Anyway, congrats on your progress and keep up the good work, really love your content 🎉
Yooo!! This comment made me smile!! Glad my videos was giving you some motivation/inspiration. Really appreciate the feedback on the video, putting alot of work into making my own style kinda documentary/car buildish 😂 mixed with some humor!! Thanks again!!
New to your channel, watching from Washington DC, your build brings back memories and I enjoy seeing your work. After a few days of binging I am caught up and subscribed. Hang in there, enjoy the journey and I look forward to seeing it completed - whenever that happens. 👍🏻
Yooooo!!!! Cheers from SC to DC!! Im stoked that youve binge watched the series. I apologize for my long winded talking in some of the earlier videos 😂 I was trying to find my groove or style. And Im glad your here for the long haul!! Thanks so much for subscribing and for the support!!!
Editing skills on point. Looking good cuz
Thanks cuzzo!!! I appreciate the feedback always!! Hope all is well your way!!!
Nice to see you're progress. Just got my welder and am about to start digging in on mine up in Clemson. Keep at it!
Yooooo!!! Stoked for ya bro!! Good luck with the welding!!!! You'll be stacking dimes in no time!!!
Make sure you leave a little bit of rust on her, it was a feature from factory 🤣 Loved the style of video you did on this one. Can't wait to see how you tackle the sunroof and hopefully you get to it soon because I have to tackle mine soon and still unsure how to. Keep it up man.
Yoooo.. Anthony the leave a little rust on her made me 😂 😂 Glad ya enjoyed the video style on this one, I think I may be onto my style/flow of video that I really enjoyed making. And yeah Im curious as to the roof also lol. I got a few ideas lol Thanks for the support bro!!! 😃🤘🏻
@@DustyMacsGarage Definitely loving this style of video. Do you think a a patch with reinforcement bars is good enough? Would love to see what you think.
@@AnthonyCessor I would think so. I think between me and my wife we arent in love with the sunroof so we gonna explore other options. Ive got a few ideas but I dont want to put my foot in my mouth 😂
@@DustyMacsGarage I had the same problem, didn't like the sunroof, body shop patched it but they use too much Bondo and it's cracking all over now. I know people use roof skins but haven't seen those around in awhile. Well I'll let you know what I end up doing spot of of works and looking forward to seeing what you do 😂
@@AnthonyCessor ha ha. Yeah keep me posted. Time will tell for us lol
Brother your to hard on yourself you inspire me to dive in to my build a Triumph GT6 with a 280z on deck! Thank You for all you do it's fantastic! MFR
Yoooo!!!! Thanks Micahel for the encouragment!!! Thats a awesome project lineup you got waiting!!! Im stoked that my videos are helping to inspire others!!!! Thank you for watching, commenting and supporting!!! 😃
Looking good!!
Thanks Kevin!!!
The puzzle is slowly coming together 🫡
Yessss!!! Slower than Id like but, progress is progress right?
@@DustyMacsGarage Yep. Keep going
@@hoedemakerbart thanks bro!!!!
@@DustyMacsGarage once the body is done, the fun part begins... Putting the parts back on 😀
@@hoedemakerbart bro...cant wait for that part!!!
Looks like you’re digging in deep Dusty but it seems you’ve broken the back of the job? I think you’d probably consider very hard taking on another basket case as rough as this one? You’ve definitely got ‘true grit’! I’m also quite impressed by the videography and editing. YT was only spitting it out in 720p and it looks crisp with impressive cinematic mode footage. What do you shoot it on? Anyhow keep going after it. Your OGs are still with you!
Yoooo! Mark OG from KU 😂 I uploaded it to youtube @1080 but my nice Sony camera shoots in 4k but my Go Pro doesnt so when i post process it at 1080 for youtube. If I shot soley with the 4k cam I could upload it at that I think. I appreciate the feedback on the editing and videography being better cause I really been trying to up that aspect of the channel. As far as you saying Ive broken the back of the job, Im assuming tha lt means gotten past the hardest part lol? I appreciate your support since the beginning until now. There is only 2 other projects I may consider taking on if I got them for dirt cheap and they were in bad shape. 1.) My wifes dream mustang or 2.) My dream 71ish Camaro with round taillights.
As far as anything else being in this bad of shape it would have to be turned into a ratrod for sure lol. Hope all is well 😃 Cheers!!!!
🔥🔥🔥
🤘🏻💪🏻
I'm only a few minutes in but I thought this was the 1 you got from Taz.
Is the 1 from taz's a donor?
Yoooo, Joey!! Yeah the 280z was the donor we bought from Taz!! My wifes 240z from Georgia. We still have the 280z just havent messed with it any since Im up to my neck with this one 😂
Wondering what colour will it be at the end? 🤔
Wife picked out the color, its called twilight turquoise and its from a 60s mustang. It looks amazing!!!!
Air pressure is too high for your primer. Fan is too wide. Maybe this will help next time you prime
Thanks for the tip! When I edited the video I was thinking that too seeing the footage but in the moment it didnt hit me 😂 thanks for the feedback!!
what rumors about "what they made these things from"?
Ive just heard they was made from crappy reused metal. It may be just a rumor but who really knows 😂 😂
