    According to her designer, Renata's purple isn't actually shimmer, it's just a reversal of the zaun color palette made to implement more unique Zaun designs in the game.

    No one's talking about the fact that playing Renata means to auto attack a lot to make sure that u "buff" your teammates damage. To me, that already sets her apart from most enchanters who usually are more on the passive side: saving the cc for enemies, or shielding from the back. In short, she fights alongside the adc more than any other enchanter

      Yeah, not like many new champions that have an excessive amount of text on how you can suck against the champion if you are playing something like Jhin.
      That's why I hate Zeri, a champ so riddled with mechanics that it can do anything, dodge skillshots, go trough walls, shoot trough walls, burst autoattacks and many other bullshit that fucks you up if you get careless as Pyke or Caitlyn

    when I first saw her abilities, i thought that having both a revive and berserk was gonna be a bit op. But after looking at the numbers it seems that riot actually has some control on whether they want to make their champs op as hell

      dont think numbers are gonna make the revive balanced, its the whole point of it being the biggest ability in game denying ult resets, takedown resets and other things. i.e darius could 1v5 perfectly and renata would could deny ult reset making him useless. even if the adc dies to the bleed because they played bad dairus would have no chance. thats just one example past just a revive for adc.

      @@suppmydiff3257 Darrius 1v5's with his ult. take the ult away (which this revive does.) and he cannot execute or transfer hemeroge for about another minute or so. there goes most of his damage and a good chunk of his self heal.

    I've always thought that the berserk was never implemented in the game because it would be way too busted, specially if you aim it at someone like Yi or Caitlyn and then Riot releases this chick all right

    Great video as always!!! But i want to say that: Shimmer is not always dangerous. As Renata says: "The difference between poison and medicine is the dosage. Allow me to demonstrate!". And shimmer is not canon in current lore. Rioters said that renata's chemicals are refined chemicals. Normally Zaun's chemicals are green-ish but Renata's are purple(like Mundo). Those are "refined chemicals/chemtechs". Also shimmer has healing potential. Its all about dosage.
    and i think that biggest problem about her W is its reset mechanic (ofc). They nerfed it so hard in pbe but idk im sick of reset mechanics right now.

      To prove your point further, in Arcane (which I know isn't canon but it isn't canon in the same way Renata's chemicals aren't confirmed as shimmer), the medicine used to heal Vi after she was injured fighting Sevika was made of shimmer, and Jinx was revived after blowing herself up in her fight with Ekko using shimmer too, so we definitely have confirmation, semi-canon or not, that shimmer can most certainly heal.
      Jinx's shimmer-revival being the cause of her pink eyes and super-speed (her in-game passive) also explains how her W can serve as a movement- and attack-speed buff, which is cool.

Singed is the creator, and it's probably safe to say that the shimmer in the market is a lesser variant or prototype of what Singed has been working on. So it would stand to reason that the vials he administers personally would have different effects and potency, also factoring in his expertise.

    Renata main here. The amount of ways your W can be rendered useless are infinite. The revive mechanic is very unreliable and conditional. You still take damage within those 3 seconds, and since your health depletes quite rapidly either way, you can be deleted very easily. The revive also only works once per cast, so let's say your ADC dies while Bailout is on, scores a kill, revives, but then if they take fatal damage again then they won't be revived anymore.

    Her W seems somewhat fine. What makes Chemtech soul so scary is that everyone gets a free revive to freely deal damage as opposed to one champion with one ability

      Yeah. This is an aimed ability, not an automatically activated passive. If your Renata sucks, she won’t be able to activate Bailout on the right person or at the right time. I think this is a much healthier version of Chemtech soul, and considering that other characters like Sion have death-defying abilities, it’s not that strange, especially since she’s a support, AND a big pharma ceo to boot. Saving people from death is canonically her thing, even if she does later use that as leverage to make her “patients” work for her lol.
      But seriously, I really really like this champ.

    I personally think that thematically the W’s “revive” makes sense (at least the sion passive part). It feels like it’s a similar drug to the ult, where the target goes into a drugged-up frenzy. It’s just that for the W it acts more like crack where they’re brushing off hits that no normal person really should be capable of.
    In other news, I feel like she has grounds for a Silco skin and that makes me happy.

      I've seen the "Renata Silco skin" floating around in some other places, and I just don't get it. Like do you wanna genderswap her and just call her Silco in the skin? Do you want her to wear Silco's clothes? If that's the case, it would literally be her base skin, minus a few details like the shoulder pad things, in a different color scheme. She's the closest thing we have to Silco, in League right now, and I feel like she was made as a parallel to him, so I don't know what Riot would do with a "Silco skin".

      @@JosephStalin-vo6gi I think an interesting idea is if they change Bailout so that the grey health just gets replenished on a takedown, so the unit has to keep killing champions or structures to stay alive longer, and then their death timer is extended the longer they stay alive. Or maybe they change it so it's a skill independent of QWER that allows players Dota style buybacks to spawn in faster as a passive after the game hits a certain time.

    As a SUPPORT main, I'm intrigued for her release. None of my characters are "carries" and my solo lane picks have low auto damage. I've been against riot's idea of making 1 character so solve big problems, but Vex and Renata have created a refreshing threat to the meta. And I look forward to blocking her ult with Braum's shield :).

    Her passive is not what makes her useless for solo lane, It is her lack of wave clear and high cooldowns. Lissandra for example has no lane passive at all yet she's a decent solo laner.

      Her wave clear is actually decent. I should watch Foggedftw2s video of her. If u max E is clears the wave ver easily because it actually hits twice. Once around her and once as a projectile. I think her passive really does make her bad outside her own lane

      And no, youtube videos aren't a good example because most of those are either custom games or a relatively high ranked person vs a gold or below person, since the latter is 90% of all pbe players, if not more.

    I love Renata, her design, lore and gameplay are all top, she isn't super overloaded like past champs but she still has unique things, I hope riot doesn't overtune her too much because she looks really balanced.

    what kills me is when people say that vex is an anti dash champ, she's never been (at least in my games) a source of trouble for dash champions as she one shots everyone while fearing them. On the other hand poppy feels like such a better design, her impact on a fight or even in laning vs dash champs is clearnly noticeable and it' s not like she can destroy you with that W of hers. Clearly a better design in my opinion, especially for a champ that is marketed as "anti-dash". Can't say anything about zeri, shield steal isnt that obvious to notice.

      Vex wasn’t designed to outright counter them, but mainly to have an edge over them.
      Which is currently working as intended, as her best MUs are mobile heavy champions while her worst ones are control Mages who can heavily poke her down.

    i especially get the feeling that in like season 9 we're at the same point as we where in yugioh where our bread and butter fusion, ritual and tribute summon where left in the dust, leading into synchro and xyz summon for season 11.
    season 12/s11 end kinda feels like pendelum summon where your champions just spam so much shit you expect them to be nerfed but they be like haha, wdym overloaded kits?

    What The Glasc company sells isn't regular shimmer it's refined or inproved upon in some way. So it makes sense that it would behave differently to regular shimmer.

    Easy to read her kit and think "aw crap that's busted" but testing on pbe I can say that she actually doesn't feel broken to play or to play into.
    *but* she can easily become broken if they aren't careful with balancing. As it is a Renata one trick is going to become terrifying with skill and her ban rate is probably going to be stupid high.
    Either way its wierd they keep making these kinds of highly controversial kits and still say they nerf things like support top with the reasoning "it matters just as much if it's fun to play against as it is to play as"

      @@juliankanzuki2013 Braum wall is not a valid counter to her ultimate. It doesn't stop him from getting cc'd, meaning he will still attack an ally. If he hits them even once, his passive is applied to them, which Renata's team can then stack and pop. Assuming Braum's passive isn't disabled during the frenzy, anyway...

    For a long time, Riot finally nailed it on a support. With her W, she has a way to prolong or even force a snowball situation, and her Ult is atleast could be a really good comeback tool. But of course it would only work agaisnt a certain comp, like where the opponent just pick some skill-cast heavy champion and Renata's Ult would be bearable

    One thing i like in any MOBA is new gimmicks playing with well established rules of the game, like interacting with walls previously just indicating paths, using the different terrains that were before just different ground textures, or befriending jungle beast instead of bloodshedding each other.
    And friendly fire was something i've looked for, not necesarrily getting at each other throat but the idea is basically the same, punishing you and your team for being too powerful.
    Next gimmick i'd like to see would be messing with your inputs, switching Q and W, item 1 with item 2, so on and so forth

      Messing with the inputs is too much, I think. I also can’t imagine how much mess it would create for players like me, who have almost all item slots bound into different keys on my keyboard and on my mouse.
      I think adding something that affects something out of the game itself is a bad idea.

    About Bailout, I had similar thoughts. It's a bit too free in terms of upsides and downsides, while also being a bit oddly complicated. Here's how I would design it instead.
    Berserk is a percentage stat that reduces your max health, but gives you Lifesteal. So 10% berserk would make 10% of your health bar useless, but give you 10% omnivamp to make up for it. This stat only resets upon death, and of course, going 100% is inherently fatal.
    Bailout then becomes an ability that is designed to be time dependant: your ally becomes immune to all damage while you're casting, with their Berserk percentage increasing the longer you hold down the ability. This means it's got a high skill ceiling mechanically (holding the exact amount you intend to) and in macro (knowing when to use it, and especially when you execute a teammate to reset their Berserk without feeding a kill to the other team).

    This video sounds a lot like my first thoughts when she was revealed. However her w is instant and her ult has low duration. This means that if a rengar is fed enough (and assuming the damage carries over), he could still oneshot an adc through renata's w. Additionally the low duration on her ultimate means that she can't 1v9 against a superfed team, but she can give her team a breather. (Just my opinion, loved the video)

    I’ll say it again, Renata is by far the best design I have seen in a long long time, she’s such a unique champion that isn’t very overloaded with useless things, simple to understand, and extremely unique
    Also her ult is the best one I’ve ever seen, it’s a new form of cc that is gonna open up so much for league in the future

      People are just saying it becouse of her look about her W i know its 3 secends but 3secends for an attacker like jinx is all she needs so no ita not balanced plus her ult omg imagine when a yone and mf starting to attack each other in the same team and in the mean time the enemy is also attacking them like seriouslly how you guys think its balanced!!! Btw people saying she does not deal damage is just stupid she is an enchanter there is no reason for her to deal damage but the amount of utility she bring to the table(which is what enchanters do) is too much and needs to get nerfed

      Overall I like her abilities and playstyle, but her W is a stronger chemtech soul, and the chemtech soul is a better sion passive, so its definitely broken but if they remove it just that feature and make her W a steroid booster only then I think she'd be one a lot more balanced

      Idk, Soraka can return half or more of a carry's hp bar in guaranteed healing over the course of a fight. Renata can give a shield and only if your ally dies and kills someone, they can get 30% of their hp.
      It's less damage mitigation and it's not guaranteed, a stray auto attack or ability in a teamfight will turn your 3 seconds to kill someone into 1. Her W is only better in situations where you like the attack speed.

    I think it’s important to be aware that Renata’s purple fluid and gas isn’t shimmer, it’s refined chemtech. It’s why the Turbo Chemtank is filled with purple and not green as well.
    Shimmer ultimately isn’t canon in the primary league universe.

    This is not how the role works in practice, and why I think Riot should consider renaming it away from "support". The role isn't about 'assisting your team', the role is about functioning on a low income. Sett, Pantheon, Shaco, Brand, among others don't assist their team directly. They are (or were, in case of those Riot interfered directly to push them off the role) just champions that don't need itens to be good. On the other hand, the likes of Sona and Lulu multiply their value with itens and the only reasons they are still played bot lane is because 1. their itens are disproportionally cheap to everyone else's, 2. Riot has a tendency to aggressively nerf their competition and 3. Riot has a tendency to aggressively nerf THEM when they're played anywhere but support.
    Riot is slowing down the progression of the game far too much for the sake of a vocal minority of hipsters who preffer to maintain the status quo and bot lane has the two roles that suffer from it the most. In 2012 bot lane had marksman and enchanter, in 2022 that haven't changed.
    Marksmen see play outside bot lane? Tweaked back to bot lane. Non-marksmen see play bot lane? Tweaked away from bot lane. Enchanters see the same problem.
    Pantheon+Taliyah, just to name an example, have such great synergy. Pantheon has the guaranteed lockdown to secure Taliyah's deadly but otherwise hard to land combo and both have roaming ultimates. They could be such a fun bot lane combo but the game is so systematically favorable to the same marksman-enchanter/tank duo its difficult to even compete.

    I absolutely love renata and think they're a great new take on supports always wanted to learn one but hated the bubbly magical girl look I also like the fact that her one shield ability isn't point and click like all the rest gives just a little bit more skill expression in her kit surprised you didn't bring it up!

      yes i waited to see something that isnt a "support" like pyke or that simply makes your team faster in killing enemies by dealing dmg. I like mages on support like zyra or Vel but i dont feel they should belong to support role they have cc but being support doesnt mean to simply have a cc in your kit. Appart from maining support i love anti carries thats why i like her design and its cool that finnaly we get another anti carry on supp (first was lulu but she is in a wird spot for me)

    Something to note with her revive is while yes it seems OP on paper, looking at that decay it’s honestly just a “win more” revive. If the targeted ally isn’t fed, they won’t be getting that revival you’d have to be even or so far ahead that you can score the kill in the 3ish seconds your health is ticking down. If the tick rate was slower I can see it being oppressive but having 2-3 seconds to score a kill or assist is really hard to think of it being OP when the other champ can probably dash a screen away while you tick down

    Honestly the introduction of of berserk makes me wonder if that could be actively emwirked into simply just future champs but current champ abilities.
    I could imagine something like Nocturne using their nightmare powers to trick other people into attacking their team mates thinking they’re Nocturne.

    So I think the most prominent thing in here to counter her is the season 1 meta if everyone still remembers it.
    Bot lane will be support and bruiser or juggernaut, mage will also work in here
    Adc will go mid to avoid Renata but miss out on farm
    Jungle will not be affected but Adc jungle will be reduced in numbers and popularity
    Top can still go Adc(if your cancer enough), Mage or the usual Fighter

    As someone who is watching this two momths later. I agree with everything you said in this video except for the impact of ranatas revive. In at least half of the games i have played against renata in the botlain. In almost halv of them the laining phase was desided purely because of her revive ability. Gr8 video doe!

    Support 1 trick of 8 years, this champion feels like a gutted Nami. Her CC Q is less, she shields for less, her passive buff puts her in AA range making her more vulnerable, her W incentives players to use it only when they're losing the fight (when hyper carries start dying) and her ultimate takes longer to cast and moves slower than Rell. Laning with her on ADC is even more of a nightmare than playing her

    personally, she looks like a champion I'd main. My current mains are thresh and azir. I like them because they have high skill ceilings due to having kits that can do a lot of things depending on how you use them. renata has the same vibes. her q looks awesome and I'm excited for ult. concerned about w. I feel like she'd be cursed on characters with takedown mechanics like jinx. I can also see some potential bullshit from going something like renata/pyke. I think I'd be more enthusiastic if her w didn't have a revive. I like your proposition.

      Lulu isn't an anti-carry just because she has one point-and-click CC ability. Anti-carries are defined by having a mechanic that turns a carry's strength against themselves, or exploits their weaknesses to such an extent the carry CANNOT fight them.

      Polymorph is just a CC ability. It has no other function.

In this case he does the same thing lulu does, locks people down. The difference is that he deals damage, she doesn’t, she can shield and buff, he can’t.

      @@ADRIAN-tv4wf When assigning roles to a character, allowing them items is asinine. Is Veigar an ADC because you gave him full crit/attack speed? No. So when looking at cases like these, you go for design intent. Malz is an anti-carry because he reduces the carry to complete worthlessness. Lulu's CC isn't even in the top 50 for effectiveness when it comes to doing this, for her best CC ability doesn't even stop you from controlling your character.
      On top of this, Polymorph is equally effective against all types of champions, whereas Malzahar's is practically useless unless the champion hit is a priority target.

    Tldr: proposed W no longer revives, is a ground targeted skill that buffs allies and slows enemies in a small aoe but has a more potent version with a caveat if only one ally is hit.
    Okay I've been thinking about her incredibly OP W and think I've come up with a less op version at least. W is no longer a point and click skill, but a ground targeted ability with similar missile speed and range as Urgot Q.
    For the next 1.5/1.75/2.0/2.25/2.5 seconds, all allied champions hit will gain up to 40% damage reduction based on missing health (max damage reduction gained at 80% missing HP). Enemy champions hit get slowed up to 50% based on missing health (less missing health = more slow; min slow at 20% missing HP, max slow at 30% missing HP) for 1.5/1.75/2.0/2.25/2.5 seconds.
    If only one ally has been affected, removes all debuffs from affected unit, and they instead gain up to 70% damage reduction based on missing HP (max damage reduction at 80% missing HP), up to 15%/19.5%/25%/30% atk speed, up to 15%/19.5%/25%/30% MS for 1.5/1.75/2.0/2.25/2.5 seconds. They also receive 30% more shield from Renata but all healing from all sources are 70% less effective.
    No revives or anything, just a straight up bailout. The numbers could be off but more or less you get the idea of what I'm going for haha
    Also, I think making this ability buff for way less when hitting multiple ally champions (but negatively affects enemy champions all the same) gives it a bit more skill expression (knowing when it's more valuable to hit multi vs single ally and executing on it) and some pressure to use it on a single unit vs buffing multiple champions.

    Her W, I'm fine with it giving essentially Sion passive. The revive off kill seems added for no reason and essentially makes zil ult inferior.
    Sure it's not going to be a one to one there's going to be uses for both, but I feel like 9 times out of 10 you want her W instead. 3 reasons, reason 1 shorter cooldown, reason 2 wither the revive is gotten off or not your still getting moment speed a attack speed, reason 3 it's instant at least what I've seen you don't have to wait for yourself to be revived or zombified while with zil r even if you get it off the person down still has to wait 1.5 secs to get back up.

      Not sure why the things you list make her a better revive. You can argue that it is a better combat buff, but the lack of stasis means that the enemies can just… kill or CC the person again instantly. Or even just disengage to let the person die off. The stasis/revive period from zilean ult gives your allies to apply pressure or at the very worst, force the enemy to wait out the duration. Renata’s W doesn’t.
      The movespeed is also only towards enemy, so W is useless in disengage. Attackspeed is nice, but not all champs can make use of it. So Renata W is essentially locked into offensive usages in order to fully utilize it. Using it just for the revive mean wasting the attackspeed and movespeed buff (they takes time to ramp up). Using it just for the attackspeed and movespeed means not having it for the revive.
      No one actually focuses on the part where the buff duration is reset on kill. It’s essentially a mini Jinx passive. That should be the concern, not the fact that it may or may not revive once every full moon.

    Maybe Bailout should be more akin to Lifeline (Shieldbow Passive). Riot could tweak it so that if it activates, it supercharges the recipient, too. Could be a healthier way to implement anti-carry principles.

    Shimmer doesn't just immediately deteriorate a person body if they take it a couple of times, it takes a while of constant use for its truly harmful side effects to show
    just look at how much jinx took, shes fine now.

    It doesn't have much to do with the video but Renata isn't narratively consistent with how shimmer works because it just isn't shimmer, only refined chemtech, which has similar effects but isn't technically shimmer cause that's an Arcane exclusive and the series atleast for the moment isn't canon (also the color is just the inverted colors of chemtech)

    The Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is a very fast building-targeting, melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. He appears just like his Clash of Clans counterpart; a man with brown eyebrows, a beard, a mohawk, and a golden body piercing in his left ear who is riding a hog. A Hog Rider card costs 4 Elixir to deploy.
    Strategy
    His fast move speed can boost forward mini tanks like an Ice Golem in a push. At the same time, he can also function as a tank for lower hitpoint troops such as Goblins as he still has a fair amount of health. Most cheap swarms complement the Hog Rider well, as they are nearly as fast as him and usually force more than one card out of the opponent's hand.
    The Hog Rider struggles with swarms, as they can damage him down and defeat him quickly while obstructing his path. Barbarians in particular can fully counter him without very strict timing on the defender's part, though be wary of spells.
    A Hunter can kill the Hog Rider in 2 hits if placed right on top of it. However, if you place something in front of the Hog Rider, the Hunter's splash will damage the Hog Rider and hit the card in front of it more.
    The Hog Rider in conjunction with the Freeze can surprise the opponent and allow the Hog Rider to deal much more damage than anticipated, especially if the opponent's go-to counter is a swarm, or swarms are their only effective counter to him. Skeletons and Bats will immediately be defeated by the spell, while Spear Goblins, Goblins, and Minions will be at low enough health to be defeated by a follow up Zap or Giant Snowball.
    However, this strategy isn't very effective against buildings as the Hog Rider will take a while to destroy the building, giving the opponent ample time to articulate another counter.
    Against non-swarm troops, it can deal a lot of damage during the freeze time, but this can allow the opponent to set up a massive counterpush. For this reason, players should either only go for a Hog Rider + Freeze when they have other units backing it up from a counterattack, or if the match is about to end and they need to deal as much damage as possible.
    It is not a good idea to send in a Hog Rider simply to destroy a building, especially if it is the only building targeting unit available, as defeating Crown Towers becomes substantially more difficult. Spells or simply waiting out the lifetime of the building are more effective. The exception to this is an Elixir Collector placed in front of the King's Tower. If a Hog Rider placed at the bridge, he can destroy the Collector for a positive Elixir trade, though the damage from both Princess Towers will usually mean he does not survive to deal any damage to them. However, if the opponent sends in defending troops, it can be an opportunity to gain spell damage value.
    In a deck with several low-cost cards, it might be worth it to simply send the Hog Rider against one building. These decks shuffle their card rotation quick enough, that they will arrive to their next Hog Rider before the next building arrives in the opponent's card rotation.
    Long-ranged troops like Musketeer and Flying Machine can snipe those buildings, preserving some of the Hog Rider's health, possibly allowing it to get some Tower damage.
    When there are buildings placed in the middle to counter the Hog Rider, understanding the placement of the Hog Rider and the type of building placed can help the Hog Rider to bypass certain buildings.
    Passive buildings such as spawners and Elixir Collector have a larger hitbox than defensive buildings; which means that if a passive building was placed 3 tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, then it is impossible for the Hog Rider to bypass that placement as the Hog Rider will get pulled to that building.
    Defensive buildings have a smaller hitbox than a passive building, which means if that if a defensive building was placed three tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, a Hog Rider placed at the very left or right side of the Arena may be able to bypass it due to its smaller hitbox.
    If the player has a building already placed down in the center of the arena, and the opponent tries to bypass it with a Hog Rider at the edge of the arena, they can use certain air troops to push the Hog Rider towards the building as it jumps over the river, effectively denying the bypass attempt. They must be already hovering over the correct placement, as very quick reflexes are required to correctly perform this technique.
    For Bats, Skeleton Dragons, and Minion Horde, they should be placed right in front of the Hog Rider as soon as it is deployed.
    For Minions, Skeleton Barrel, Mega Minion, Flying Machine, Electro Dragon, Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, Balloon, and Lava Hound, stagger the above placement one tile to the right if the Hog Rider is placed on the left side of the arena, and vice versa.
    They can also use ground troops to achieve the same result. Something like an Ice Golem deployed at the Hog Rider’s landing spot will obstruct his path and force him to go around the unit, which causes him to be closer to the building instead of the Crown Tower.
    The Hog Rider can kite Very Fast non-building targeting troops due to his own Very Fast speed and building only targeting if he is placed on the fourth tile from the bridge, slightly into the opposite lane. He can also stall grounded units when placed right at the bridge. He will pull them towards him while deploying, and then be untargetable by them when he jumps over the bridge. After landing, he will pull them back. This can be useful when the player needs to deal damage in the same lane they are defending. It will also help separate troops behind a tank in a large push.
    A Tornado placed on the second tile front of the player's King's Tower and staggered two tiles towards the Princess Tower will activate it without any damage dealt to the Princess Tower, helping them in defending future pushes. This can also be a method of mitigating all damage dealt to a Princess Tower, but doing this more than three times may result in the King's Tower's health being low enough to be targeted directly, opening up the possible threat of a back door three crown. A better alternative is to pull the Hog away from the Princess Tower into the attacking range of all three Crown Towers, which will negate all damage as long as none of them are already distracted
    A very powerful combo is the Hog Rider, the Musketeer, and the Valkyrie, typically referred to as the Trifecta. The Musketeer will defend against most troops, while the Valkyrie can protect her and the Hog Rider from swarms or high damage units. The Hog Rider is used to deal damage to the tower.
    This can be effectively countered by Lightning, one-shotting the Musketeer and severely damaging both the Valkyrie and Hog Rider. The Minion Horde is also effective, but the enemy can Zap them and the Musketeer will one-shot them all. Even if the Musketeer is defeated, the Hog Rider and Valkyrie will have enough time to severely damage the Tower.
    The Hog Rider should be placed behind the Valkyrie to give it a boost so that it stays in front of the Hog Rider, protecting it.
    A Hog Rider combined with a Goblin Barrel can be awkward for the opponent to defend against. Timing it so that the Hog Rider is tanking the tower shots for the Goblins is the most effective way to deal damage. However, a Barbarian Barrel can shut this down with minimal Tower damage for a positive Elixir trade, as long as the Goblin Barrel was placed directly on the Tower.
    Pairing the Hog Rider with the Balloon can deal devastating damage. If executed properly, the Hog Rider will act as a tank while the Balloon threatens to deal massive damage. The Hog Rider can also destroy any buildings attempting to slow down the combo. However, this combo is very vulnerable to swarms and anti-air cards as neither of the troops target anything but buildings. Additionally, they are easy to separate, due to the disparity in move speeds. Alternatively, the Hog Rider and the Balloon can be played in different lanes to spread the opponent's defenses thin. However, a building or Tornado can bring them back together for an easier defense.
    The Hog Rider can be paired with the Lumberjack as both a swarm bait and damage combo. It is a very fast combo with an extremely high damage output potential, so the enemy will likely try to counter it with a swarm. If this happens, use a spell like Arrows to render the opponent defenseless. If they manage to defeat the Lumberjack, the dropped Rage will make the Hog Rider even more dangerous than it normally is.
    A fast and deadly combination is the Hog Rider and Mini P.E.K.K.A. combo. Both units are fast but the Mini P.E.K.K.A. does much more damage and does not attack only buildings so the Mini P.E.K.K.A. can deal with troops like the Executioner and Musketeer. However, this combo can be defeated with swarms like Skeleton Army, which will defeat both of them since neither of them can deal area damage. They are also unable to target air troops, so the Minion Horde can stop this easily.
    A risky play is to deploy the Hog Rider at the bridge as soon as the match starts. If the opponent does not react fast enough, the Hog Rider will deal a significant amount of damage to the Princess Tower. This can also allow the player to quickly scout the opponent's deck if they happen to react to him fast enough.

    I am happy to see league include a support with anti brust mechanic. I feel it important to have her W to counter champions like yone, irealia and talon getting to freely engage on adcs, right now the only option is to "just cc them". I am not sure if the designer drew inspiration from Dota because most of her kit is silimar to dota supports, Q =rubric lift, W dazzle=shallow grave, R= wyvern ultimate.

    The first thing i thought about Renata's R was : "man it just is like a Seraphine ult but larger and slower.... How about Renata frees her little chemtech thing on a place, and then it spreads Chemtech Takeover thing, just as gas... Currently it doesnt even makes sense, it's suppose to be gas but it goes in a straight line ??"
    So instead of having a wave, you'd have a circle which can have a lesser hitbox but a faster cast time, to be more of a surprise element.
    Also 13:42 : We still have Viego who, even if behind, can 1v5 if he somehow manage to kill the 15/0 Vayne.

    I don’t believe it’s not Renata’s W that’s a game changer, but her passive that has no cooldown when alternating attacks with an adc. Her whole kit seems to be Vayne as her passive with the kit of a Lulu that HAS to be aggressive.

    Actually, it’s not shimmer but refined Chem tech. Riot confirmed that she sued refined Chem tech, and that Chem tech turns that magenta color when refined.

    Her w could be that as long as they are in battle (to prevent trolling) you can juice someone up and they have dmg reduction but after they get crippled and take some of the damage back

    I talked with a friend about the revive, and we think that the right change might be one of two:
    -Remove the revive but give Omnivamp per health lost(like a berserk status where the close you are to death the stronger you cling to life)
    -Keep it as it is but instead of complete resurrection as long as the buff continues you stay alive. That way even if you can still score a Penta you'll give the shutdown soon after or if the other team just disengages you will die on your own as you can't reset de buff duration.

    I think its w needs a negative effect. It does so much without any risk or downside. If I was designing the skill, I would give it long-lasting debuffs if it revives an ally. Like if you die while w is active, you instantly revive with grey health (current mechanic) and lose 10% of your max health for the next 5 minutes (long-lasting debuff). It would add a whole new dimension to the game plan. You have to consider are there any objective battles we want in the next 5 minutes, does reviving here make sense, etc. Moreover, it would be compatible with the lore. It gives some strong buffs, but if you use it regularly, it eats away your flesh.
    I think the league really needs a skill that requires planning the next 5-10 minutes of the game.

      The risk and downside is the massive 28 seconds cooldown at max rank. If you use it and nothing comes of it you're effectively out of the game for the next 30 seconds because of how uses her Q and E are

      @@abdu1998a true, I got the cooldown wrong. I still stand by what I said thought. her Q and E damage are pitiful and have high cooldowns plus mana costs. Her ult is too slow to use without setup but is pretty strong if landed. Her W is really good but hold she rest of her kit back. She's not good at all until late game because of this, when cdr can help her out.
      Have you played her on the pbe? She's almost as bad as yuumi in lane.

Something like allowing the sion like state to last longer and be extended via kills but not allowing a full revive would easily keep the W in check while allowing the lost power to be allocated in other parts of her kit to make her feel better.

    Lore wise, Renata's w actually is correct because she uses a better chemical than shimmer for her chemtech. It extends the life of its users actually. This also makes thematic sense because Renata is known for saving people for a price.

    I think that her W should give damage reduction and get Purple Healthbar in amount of % reducted damage by this ability. In the end of skill duration get damage equal to amount of Purple Healthbar. If buffed champion get kill or assist then amount of Purple Healthbar is decreased by 50% and reset skill duration.

    Hey Vars, great video as always :)
    I'd like to know your take on the future reworks, maybe could be a video/series idea if you redesigned a champion that is going to be reworked (like skarner now, and possibly shyvanna in the future). Could be fun to see how you would redesign them, and after the reworks are release, you could come back to your video and compare your version with the Riot's version. Maybe even Riot's design team could watch your videos and take some ideas from there :)

    I don't quite understand why they didn't switch bailout with hostile takeover. Just make it a cone effect and change the time bailout is active from 3 to 5 seconds sense it's and ult.

    The event horizon is a concept, not the black hole itself. It’s when you go past the point of a black hole where nothing can escape its pull, not even light. Narratively, it’s when a character does something so bad that they are officially evil, hence the point of no return. For Veigar, running into the wall of his e or sometimes just being trapped in it can get you blown up, making it the point of no return.
    His ult is called Primordial Burst btw. Just saying.

    12:48 That alternative kind of does the same thing, in that a 1v9 champ would make more use of it than an adc or such because they would more reliably gain max dmg reduction and be actually able to turn back for damage after as they usually have lifesteal.
    14:01 Same. This is also why I think tanks as a class need a rework. For one, more current health dmg with min dmg (instead of a base dmg) to prevent it from doing none when someone's low but still have them be good engage. Also more built in anti-carry mechanics, in terms of things like dmg reduction (maybe focused on their cc like glacial), more persistent or even ramping slows (for both movespeed and attack speed)

    they used Shimmer to literally "animate almost dead people" ( Vander falls into shimmer and does reanimate ), and a small quantity can help the body withstand things ( Caitlyn was healed with it, and Viktor is using it to withstand the negative effects of the hexcore )

    Bailout is a glorified heal with a very useful steroid. Giving an ally a second full HP bar is functionally the same as healing or shielding them for that same amount, which is something several champions can do in the course of a fight or trade (Soraka, Yuumi, Lulu, etc). What makes this spell interesting is the risk it involves, it's an invitation to go crazy and keep fighting, it's not a guaranteed revive so you can play around it. If the steroid is too strong I'd be worried, but it's a matter of time to find the right numbers and the spell would be just good enough

    The fact some people don't think Renata is insanely overloaded emphasizes to me how used to overloaded kits we are now. When I think "overloaded," I think of the "paragraphs of text" abilities but also abilities that are better, more useful versions of older abilities that still exist in the game. Often these overloaded abilities are better by having more use cases or fewer weaknesses. While Renata may not feel overloaded in the first way, I think all her abilities other than her passive are overloaded in the second way.
    Her Q is both a root, a single target knock-up, an AoE stun and a tool for pushing or pulling enemies. It's a Thresh Q and E all in the same ability (except for the engage potential that she couldn't make as much use of anyway). I remember the days when people said Thresh's kit was overloaded and now we've smashed two of his abilities together.
    The scaling attack and move speed on her W make it a generally better Zilean ult. It doesn't have an ult type cooldown and it helps whether the target dies or not. Also, unlike Zilean ult it doesn't take a Morgana Q length of time to resurrect the target, they are still entirely able to fight during their "resurrection." By itself, this should be plenty to work with: A Sion passive or old Yorick ulti style ability that allows an ally to fight from beyond the grave. But the duration of the AS and MS buff resets on takedown AND a takedown will restore characters to 35% life. At least the latter can only happen once.
    Renata's E has the best argument for not being overloaded but it's still a Lux W that also slows and damages enemies. It's not as useful of a shield but it's useful even when no one needs a shield. And it works in an AoE around her, in a line and another AoE at the end. It can help when you need to peel your ADC. It can help when you need to chase.
    Her ult would be devastating against a team with one or more nasty auto-attackers. Making even one such character fight their own team-mate for 1.25-2.25 seconds would be extremely good. You're now fighting 6v4. And it's an AoE. As if that wasn't enough, she buffs the attack speed of those affected. So against the right team, it's insanely good. But, in keeping with Riot's current design trends, it's still good even against the "wrong" team. Berserk is still functionally a stun for bad auto attackers, since it removes control of a character. And it doesn't even have the downside of making them indiscriminately attack targets because the effect prioritizes equally close targets in the order of "team-mates>neutral creatures>enemy champions>Renata". The only thing not making her ulti strictly better than similar AoE ulti CC's like Nami's or Maoki's are in the numbers - The width, size and speed of the ult.
    Her numbers may keep her from being insanely busted on release but it won't be from a lack of overloaded features.

Sona ultimate is strong but this ultimate is bigger and can not only CC and entire team bug can kill them all... AS A SUPPORT YOU CAN KILL A WHOLE TEAM. Like what?

    Akshan revive is in lore. The Absolver revives those killed by people shot with it.
    The problem is his whole passive there, it doesn't have sense in lore ( i would expect a bonus against scoundrels instead of his "three hit bonus dmg" thing)

    The idea of Bailout is giving a dying champion a 2nd chance to turn things around and thus "gain" their loyalty and massive long term benefit if the affected champion manages to survive the ordeal with her help, so I would say the current version captures that sense very well, saved for the reviving part.
    If I have to rework it under this concept, I would keep the growing speed buff but also make the targeted champion go silenced and unkillable upon taking lethal damage (like tryndamere) and gain massive AD depending on how much health they are missing (instead of revival). But a single hard cc will remove the unkillable buff and thus killing them right away.
    And it should be able to target enemy champion as well, which further synergizes with her other abilities (especially her ult, for megabuffing the enemy ADC to end the entire enemy team in correct situations). Point and click is fine, but give it a moderately short range and a slight delay would balance things out well.

    Bailout is not a revive, it is more like a Sterak's shield. You can see it as: if an ally's health would drop below 35%, gain a decaying shield equal to their max health. If you think about it, it would be more broken if it actually was like that, because the ally could walk away once the shield runs out. The fact that it forces you to fight to keep you alive makes it weaker. Also, because it isn't a shield, you can't life steal to recover health while the shield is up or get healed or get shields on top of that shield. It is an I'll give you more health to keep fighting but you can't run away.

      This. People are hyper focus on the revive that they ignore the actual good part of W: the ramping attack and movespeed speed. The ability forces you to play offensively, unlike Zilean’s revive which can be both offensive or defensive.
      Replace Renata with Lulu and the fed Master Yi would still kill your team. In fact he might not even die to necessitate the revive.
