What are your thoughts on YSL Y Elixir and how would you rate Y Elixir from 1-10? Like 👍 (thank you) and share your thoughts below! Have an amazing day!
No, no, no. I would very much say that this is a little bit different. It's in the realm of freshness for sure. It's quite unique in the way that it presents in the opening. You just have to try it. In my opinion it's too expensive for what it is.
I sampled it, brought home a paper strip and like you I was initially disappointed. But as the days went I kept being drawn back to the paper strip sample for some reason. So much so a week later I went and purchased a full bottle at retail. It's just a very good mass appealing scent and I've already received compliments. Having said that, I will suggest that if you already own the Y EDP or Y EDP Intense, you don't need Elixir. I own the EDP but I have no regrets about purchasing the new Y Elixir. Thank you for the honest review.
Best flanker. Something annoyed mi in every single flanker before even tho I love the DNA. This one is just perfect. Lasts all day. Got it on discounter for $110. 8/10 for me
Ysl elixir is very , very strong(on my skin). My dad got mad at me because I spray more than 4 times. He said it gives headaches. Even tho I still prefer Ysl edp just a little bit .
High price for a slight modification. That being said I think its great. Its darker, muskier, bolder, more balanced than its predecessors and it lasts long on you. Its still fragrant the next day. The price though should be closer to the edp and le parfum.
@@michaelrice6525 Even the sales staff at Macy’s said they are having a hard time selling it. I had multiple people smell my wrist and they all had negative feedback. All hype
I haven't smelled this one yet I love the intense le Parfum a bought it couple days ago and spray it 14 times or more no comments intense 5 to 6 sprays and get completed all day
I prefer the Elixir Version from Dior Sauvage. I think it is better than YSL Elixir in terms of smell and duration. I stand by the opinion that I really like the EDP. Tomorrow I will buy YSL Y Intense and I hope I like it as much as YSL Y Eau De Parfum. grade from 1 to 10, i think 5 for YSL Elixir.
Heyy, can you please suggest a fragrance that smells exactly like what Davidoff Coolwater EDT smells like in the drydown but is longer lasting and projects heavily? (Except Creed GIT because it's expensive for my liking)
Wow! That's wicked. Always nice when you find a fragrance you end up loving 😊 It's still not one of my favorites in the line 🙃😉😆 What makes it superior to Bleu De Chanel?
Rebel, I ordered a bottle today. RRP, it’s at £129 and I picked up a bottle for £72 on discounters, that’s over £57 in savings. Summer Sales are crazy. I do like it tbh. It’s very soapy and fresh. For 60 ml and paying £72 I’m not complaining 😅🎉
I believe it’s redundant to own the elixir if you own any of the flankers for Y. I have both Elixir & Y EDP, I was honestly quite disappointed when I first smelled elixir since they didn’t really change the DNA that much. However performance for me was actually quite impressive for a fresh scent. I got about 8-9 hours on my skin with the first 3 hours of projection being fairly strong but I did about 5-7 sprays.
Thanks to the review. I was looking forward to it. When I look at the other elixirs (Dior, Boss etc), YSL Elixir is different. The others are "loud", this is more "quiet". It's a good fragrance, but not a "masterpiece" - as you pointed out. And yes, the price is too high. Not worth it in terms of value for money. Therefore I think 6 points is realistic.
Every time a new flanker comes out I always compare to Y Le Parfum, and they all fall flat. Eau Fraiche is an awesome summer freshie, and Le Parfum takes care of the rest for me :)
For the time being, I am not interested in buying. Familiar to the edp and price is high. So the answer is no for the time, maybe in the future. Thanks for the videos.
In my opinion, they could have done this a lot better. This smells like they removed the apple note from the EDP and then they mixed it with the EDP Intense and just slapped the word “Elixir” to it to make it trendy, even though it didn’t mix as well as they thought it would. Can tell the price fault is just them trying to pull a “Sauvage Elixir” move, except Dior knocked it out of the park with that release. Look at Le Male Elixir, yes it smells similar to Le Male Le Parfum but I own both and I can use them in different occasions and they are both amazing in their own way. Then Sauvage Elixir which to me did something super different from their other Sauvage Elixirs and that, to me, is definitely worth the price even if I already own the EDT. Y EDP and Y EDP intense are both so good, Y EDP is more casual and fun in a very pleasing way. While the EDP Intense is more subtle, quiet, professional but still has that added charm. I bought it and sold it to my brother in law, cause I thought it was too “meh” only to buy it again after smelling him on him a different day and I missed it. It is now one of my favorites to wear to the office. This Elixir is more like a casual Friday at the office. It’s nice, enjoyable, but would feel out of place to be casual in the office all week. Y EDP and Intense work great for me in the office so this is redundant. My wife is picky with her fragrances. She enjoys Y EDP, enjoys Y EDP Intense even though she often says it reminds her of (linen) thinks Le Parfum is too heavy on the Lavender and she also says it smells like “Baby Powder” she straight up hated the Elixir though😂 Which one is your favorite YSL Y fragrance, Rotten Rebel? I know you recommended Y EDP as an alternative.
@@spaztekwarrior It’s definitely not redundant to own both! I do find some similarities myself but they did a really great job at giving it that something that’s gonna help them be different. I can see wearing Le Parfum to the office and then putting on Elixir at the end of the day if I’m gonna go out right after. I’ve seen some people online that swear they smell almost identical and I just don’t see it. Even if they did, they’re both good enough to own a bottle and a back up bottle. So them actually being different is a big advantage. I’m not too familiar with the OG unfortunately… they had a tester at ULTA once and it smelled like stink bug. I’m assuming it may have gone bad or something.
Im not surprised Y dropped the ball on this one all there fragrances are running on a similiar patern and it looks like there always struggling when it comes to creating a new hit. Looks like Y gave use the most desappointing Elixir in the last year and half.

Hi! I think you should go with whatever you enjoy wearing! 😊👍 Most of the YSL Y´s are extremely mass appealing and easy to wear so I think they work for sure. But the EDP is such a perfect one for everyday use and the reason why it's in my 'everyday' fragrances video here: th-cam.com/video/bmsDTe6tOtQ/w-d-xo.html Feel free to check it out. The edp sometimes get a bit of hate because some feel it's so common, but that thing smells great and just works for any occasion 👌
Thank you man. Some People and common fragrances onlin don’t really realize that most people don’t even war cologne to begin with especially in high school so you really ain’t got to worry about smelling like everyone else.
So don’t get me wrong…I think it smells very nice but….the price for the size is ridic and I think they really missed the opportunity to really have the incense and oud come out more in the drydown. It’s disappointing and redundant. It’s basically The EDT with more of a soapy feel. They really should of went darker in the drydown or went goumandy for the elixir. They need to cut this and the EDP intense.
EDP Intense is one of my favorites. 😉 But they should definitely have made the oud pop more and just done something to bring the whole thing a lot more personality.. Thanks for sharing! 😊
@@rottenrebels appreciate your takes as always! I actually really like the opening of the intense but the dry down was mehhh. And it’s still just fresh, maybe it could of used some spice notes to differentiate it more 🤷🏻♂️

I'm not only dissapointed but also disgusted by Y L'Elixir - it smells Absolutely only like high concentrated chlorine with neutral soap, it doesn't smell like anything of the Y-Line its just a chlorine pill. I don't get what they did here and if they actually tried what the parfumur threw out.
I smelled this in the store and it's decent, very good performance, but the price is insane. The initial smell is a bit stinky, but the drydown is really good. Regardless, I hope it flops for YSL, they released 6 flankers before this... ridiculous. If you can't choose from 6 fragrances, you should go for something else...
I haven't smelt it yet but won't be purchasing. Reviews have been average and yours only reinforces that opinion. A missed opportunity by YSL. Incidentally, I've just picked up YSL Babycat, an absolutely stunning fragrance.
