Molten Mountainway: you missed some juicy stuff. There's a big section of missing KCL on the sides of the blue ramps, so you will fall straight through them, and you need a trick boost to make it onto the ramps at all, because the platforms shift sometimes too high to make it trickless; if you get redded or fall through the ramps, you're done, essentially. At that point, you can get respanwed twice in a row up there. You can also overshoot the hole. You can also still easily hit the top of the cave exit and get stuck on the floor edge if you trick too early / high. I believe there's also an invisible wall in that area, as well.
Having stuff missed isn't much surprise. Lots of MKWii physic moments can happen with Molten Mountainway's general ramp design. It may take a while for the vehicle to grip onto the ramp with the correct angle so it's registered as driving onto it. Most of the time, the first batch of ramps typically result in wasted boost from tricks. Worse, with bad luck / positioning / vehicle dimensions, you can bounce over a boost ramp and end up never getting air nor a trick off of it, and often fall off as a result. Which is definitely something my Twinkle Star has to reckon with. :> Also, many months ago, I got sent off sideways into the lava by something, probably a bounder spawning inside me, upon entering the first batch of ramps. Both Desert Strip (inexcusable track design if you ask me) and MM (made by someone with little will or free time to make bug / design fixes, also being the author of KMP Modifier) have terrible or too few respawn points. Desert Strip's SC before the last cannon may not count the lap if it's done way too tight.
Oh, and also, still on the subject of counting laps... ***** The SC you found on Desert Strip definitely should've counted a lap because it skipped the key checkpoints around the first U-turn (as seen in the KMP of Desert Strip v2.0), thus placing you at checkpoint 00, just like in the Maple Treeway ultra shortcut. You can tell it worked by the fact Lakitu went active on near the end of the lap. (The "wrong way" sign was probably a position tracker glitch caused by weird checkpoint design at that part of the track.) The only reason the lap didn't count in CTGP-R is because Bean patched the ultra shortcut glitch (in the game code) a while ago.

Once when i was playing WFC in MKW, i was searching for a match. It succeeded, and one of the players there was Troy. Until now, i thought he's just a random MK player, but when i gave a search on Troy today, i was shocked. It was a great online match! :)
I was playing Water Tower on CTWW and I fell off the edge while being chased by a blue shell and when I was back on the track, I saw the blue shell spinning and then dive straight off the track where I fell XD
Molten Mountainway 3/5 because it is not actually not that bad. Water Tower 0/5 because all you do is turn one way! Desert Strip 5/5 because now it feels epic.
