- This is the story of Kate Reid and Lune Croissanterie, a career change, an idea and a cult croissant that's captivated a city.
To boldly queue for early morning croissants is part of the Lune Croissanterie experience, so set your alarm early for a taste of world-renowned pastries (that take three days to make) and have quickly become Melbourne's cult croissant.
In a space-themed bakery in Melbourne's north lies Lune Croissanterie by Kate Reid. Attracting people from around Australia and the rest of the world quite literally, traditionalists can wrap their old-school mitts around French croissants, pain au chocolat and Danishes, while adventurers, can get their cruffin fix, or try the Lune Lab - a three-course experimental-pastry flight.
Hello from Singapore! Definitely one of the best experience in Melbourne!
What irritates me about these artisan bakeries in Melbourne, is that this is normal bread in Europe and we sell it at a premium
A friend and I drive over an hour to get these nearly once a week. Absolute perfection
They are 100% worth the drive!
Woah you are a very powerful person! Amazing.
Wow! 😮 Let's see
I’m heading down this weekend for a chocolate one. I was today years old when I learned about Lune 😮
make sure to be there the earliest, they usually run out of those very quickly
Marvellous video - captures Melbourne's vibrant food scene flawlessly!
Have you been to Lune?
Not yet. Although, after seeing this video, it just jumped into first place for places to visit.

I found out Lune and Kate from Porsche's TH-cam channel
She's actually an aerospace engineer 😮
Artisanal Bakehouse at Bentleigh also excellent and run by a Frenchman. Nonetheless, will pop in to Lune during my next Melbourne visit
Now i wish i lived in Melbourne, they are famous for their food
The original Lune is from Bordeaux.
I lived in Paris for 3 years but the best croissant I've ever had is from Lune
I bet you never paid $6 for a butter croissant in Paris though
Looks very nice and in Melbourne Australia just so, so lovely.
They are awsome!!!!
So delicious!
Me living in Melbourne my whole life and not knowing of lune at all 😳
Truly delicious!
We had our breakfast there last Jan 24, 2024! I was'nt able to bring some for my family on our last day in Melbourne bec of long line of customers and they are closed by 3 PM!
I love to try that Chrisawn 😋😋
Fancy, thank you youtube.
Majority of croissants in Paris are actually low quality. The ones at Lune are high end flaky. But very expensive.
Was in Paris for the weekend, walked by a small bakery that had the most amazing flakey butter croissants and more, for only €1.40. Good croissants do not need to cost a fortune.
when i holiday in melbourne its lune for breakfast every day❤️
It's impossible to walk past!
all i want is a croissant 😔
join the club.
it’s my dream to work in Formula 1 too 💙
One day hopefully 🤞🏻. Who’s you’re favourite driver?
My favourite is Daniel Ricciardo, true blue aussie F1 driver that has a big heart and lots of talent
@@beezchurger8748 it’s hard not to love Dan, although we are Australian, so we’re a little bit biased.
Fu
@@visitmelbourne It's hard to not say Daniel Ricciardo! But if I had to choose another driver, it'd be Lando Norris - can't wait to see them both at McLaren at the Australian Grand Prix in 2021 😆
Got any zero carb versions? 😜
Can you imagine.....
You haven't been to Vienna, have you?
They're pretty good at that viennoiserie thing, you know...
always wondered why they ran out of chocolate croissants, now i finally found out why....
Please, for the love of god, the T is silent.
Shut up
Inaccessible hipster hot air. Housing crisis cost of living in the edgy gutter just outside
Average cost of a croissant in Paris: Euro1.30 = AU$2.11 ......Lune croissant AU$5.30 WTF!
sorry mistake.... cost of 1 croissant is $5.90 !!!!!!!!!!
Wow thats about right.
It’s a completely different country you numpty; supply and demand my friend
Jesus. Been meaning to go to this place but had a feeling price would be mad
A shame it is so expensive here
Croissant for breakfast a delight but at that price a luxury whereas in France an everyday occurence.
Bullgaks
The staff there are lovely but they present the food like they're showing you the hope diamond. What should be an efficient purchasing process takes takes 4 times as long (adding to the length of lines) because they're having a formal presentation about pastry. The food is high quality but not worth a 2 hour wait in a line of people taking selfies. The croissants are more flaky than substance.

love croissants
Any Jews still eating Lune?
I prefer Dulce Luna in Sydney 😊
Spelt Lune
