love the narrator's voice, though i'm wondering why op didn't call the police about the destruction. Just at the point where she paid the ransom and my head is screaming 'scam!'
This is not a criticism. It is just an observation. The storyline, structure and the voice are quite well done. Nicely presented. Noticed words such as ‘overwhelmed’ the ending ‘med’ is a mispronunciation. The final ‘e’ in the ‘med’ isn’t pronounced. There was another instance of this as well. Some concerns I had were: Why didn’t Chelsea do a Police report of the ‘vandalism’ and ‘disarray’ in her house so that identification or complication of rust was stolen; Hank’s ‘bonus’ in addition to his pay seemed a little extravagant, although understandable.; Who attended to the two children when Chelsea was called to be questioned about the identify ‘Mark’? ‘Mikes Moore’ There were couple of repetitions at the ending of the story. The conclusion was well achieved with the added touch of the farm and the horses. Thank you

I like the stories but why do they repeat near the end. A lot of them do.
