After listening to Derek Prince for a week talking about fasting every Friday I knew that God talked to me and my life has changed for ever. I fast every Friday for 24 hrs and I withdraw myself from the world and my family started to be blessed so much so, I started to have visions etc. This is my 8th months and I know that I would never dare to eat again on Fridays because it's my armour against the evil spirits. We are in a war people.

I fasted 20 days and at the last week I felt a weight of unforgiveness lift off of me and my negative ruminating thoughts about that person went away. I thought I had forgiven them for the most part. God knows us better than we know ourselves.

Have you been able to fast? Sometimes, it takes a couple of goes before you successfully fast. Don't get discouraged if you fail. Pick yourself back up and try again. Remember, when we fast, we are dying to self. Our flesh will fight us as well as family and friends. Read the Word, pray a lot, and watch videos like this to keep you on the right path.

I don’t know quite how to explain this too well... but it might make sense. My personal opinion is that it is an act of the judgment of God on the United States. I believe that if you read your Bible, you can find many instances particularly in the Old Testament where God used affliction and plagues as instruments of judgement (often on Israel for their backsliding). I believe your motive is probably pure, and I rejoice in mercy, but I don’t believe it can be stopped. Perhaps it could be averted if the entire nation went on a fast, but based on what the Lord has shown me, I don’t believe that’s going to happen. God bless you. I pray He (Jesus Christ) would guide and direct you into His perfect will for your life and we will meet in heaven one day! Do not cease or grow weary warning others.

I fasted first time in my life sincerely for more than a month on every Saturday and it changed my life completely and God blessed us with a girl and boy,
baby girl is 1year old and baby boy yet to come.

I was on drugs tho and it was a quite horrific experience

I always seem to gravitate to teaching on fasting when I'm doing a fast. It encourages me past the growling of my tummy.
When we fast we must spend more time with the Lord as the spiritual attack increases during that time. Also, bind/cancel out any possible covenant the enemy attempts to get you involved with during a night. When our bodies sleep, our soul is in the battle. Fasting is a very powerful tool that cleanse and amplify our sensitivity to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. I fast very often, on average 4-5 days a week. It has allowed me to build a personal relationship with Jeshua. Let the Lord bless and protect each of you who seek Him with their hearts!

I fast ,and let me tell you this.
Derek is correct, it's very very very important to fast 2 or 3 days everyweek.
If called to do so, longer fasts are required.
Make it a discipline under God's instruction , it's life changing and brings you close to God.
That would destroy a person's liver and heart. Since they would pass out a lot, it would cause other problems as well.
People that work for a living can't do that kind of schedule.
It's irresponsible to tell people to do it as a schedule, rather than when they need to do it.
Firefighters and sailors have to be more careful. Lack of sleep, or poor hydration will kill them outright, if they have to do firefighting, or sweat.
@@heresysmith4068 People need to fast, it's practically an obligation if you want get closer to God and kill your flesh, but you are right about being careful, especially if you work. I had severe anemia before, so I can't just make a 3 day, by the second day I thought I was going to die, lol. You can do a daily fast of some hours, it's the best. Then you eat and replenish your glucose levels. I learned that I can't be doing longer fasts and that I can't be going out carelessly without eating. You need to be rational as well.

I know to be true in my prayerlife as well.
Although Dr. Derek Prince passed in 1996, his teaching is significant especially to Black and Native born American Indians.
I have heritage of Cherokee on the Maternal side and have witnessed my mothers' prayers battling witchcraft and suffered by beatings from other races and bullying, since I was four years old.

Just started Fasting , and then started listening to this , in one week of fasting , something broke in me , healing concerning willingness to go for the Lord , I kept turning down invites to preach . and during the fast my heart opened and I agreed , and I m amazed because my flesh really does not want to preach, my spirit was made stronger

I'm so blessed with this teaching! An eye opener! I never never knew that the church literally is God's government body on earth!!! what immense responsibility and priviledge! which I'm part of! This has changed my perspective and orientation totally about what Christianity is all about! This answers a lot of questions for me and many things now begin to make sense!
What should THE CHURCH BEING THE GOVERNMENT ON EARTH equate to? I would like to know what to fast for.
@@cindy5391 as this is a year later, I pray you found reasons for in which to fast. If not, here are some reasons:
1. A closer relationship with our Father
2. A deeper understanding of His Word
3. A personal relationship with His Holy Spirit that dwells in your temple. The Holy Spirit is a gift that most people do not use.
4. For loved ones who aren't saved
5. For the Bride/ Body of Messiah
6. For the gifts of the Spirit
7. For fruit of the Spirit
These are just some reasons to fast. There are many other reasons as well.

Ie we are commanded to pray for all authority and some declare including Derek, we shall be judged on the day of judgement, whether we have done this daily. It is written: First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone- for kings and all those in authority-so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. The body of Christ has not regularly upheld this command across the world we are reaping bad fruit, bad authority but what a change the world will be when all do this daily!
I was looking for a teaching on correct, and effective fasting.
Well, I listened to a couple of Derek's teachings on the subject. I went to sleep that night, and dreamt that my house was CLEANED up and brightly lit a new high powered antenna had been installed on the roof. I had been having severe, issues. My grandson, and his father was one. My grandson, that has serious problems was now dressed, and walking upright, his father was gone to work leaving him in my care. Which would only have happened with a full scale war. Praise God that the Lord send SERVANTS like Derek Prince who long, after he's been gone MINISTRY is still doing the job. Effective job. That's a miracle in, and of itself. GOD'S power is awesome.
i fast everyday because i love spending time with God in our secret place and i love praying for other people and i don’t like any demonic manifestation in my life so i subdue my flesh thru fasting its very real that if you dwell in his presence you can use your authority in Jesus name to ask ABBA what you need if its glorifies him he will give it to you and he will help you in everything
I am asking for your prayers. God has called me to a more holy life. I am struggling in areas. I am set like flint . I have been a Christian most my life and had some success tho its here and there. At 53 I am going thru spiritual warfare for a few weeks that I know of. For I want to please God ,and to make a better life.I want to be a better example of a father to my grown children and grandchildren. I have not been a good example. God is calling and I'm trying my best this time.
The place where I live is not a good environment, it is also my job. Please pray for a home,a job,a wife, and wisdom and strength,for whatever is God's will.
Said a prayer for you. Have you considered fasting? Fasting is not a way to force God's hand or will. Fasting is a way to force ourselves into His hands and His will. fasting goes against the very nature of our flesh. Our flesh wants to indulge itself in the pleasures of this world. Our flesh and it's desires keep us from the true purposes He has for our lives. The best way to fight the flesh is through fasting.

I recently fasted (from solid food) for 5 days. I honestly prepared mentally and spiritually for it, and loved every minute. I didn’t miss food, because I wanted God to hear me and my cries….
I highly recommend fasting - as Christians, it’s for our souls to be safe and humbling ourselves before God.

Hi I've too fasted and felt like i did it wrong. I feel like i could have pushed myself till morning but when things got really hard i gave into eating way to easily in my opinion. Where do you feel like you went wrong if you don't mind me asking

There’s always the Daniel Fast for those of us w/blood sugar issues. Fasting from sweets,treats,meats,& wheat. Best food plan for hypoglycemics,and it brings a clarity similar to fasting that allows me to hear the voice of God clearly,similar to total fast.
Do not beat yourself up because the devil rejoices in this but keep trying a while u ask God for the grace to fast. U can start by skipping breakfast...then b/f and lunch and before u realize u can fast 12hrs. Just be intentional and God will see the intent of your heart and will multiply His grace toward you.
I didn’t eat breakfast but I want to try to fasting in the noon and overnight first time trying correctly because I’ve also failed before

Derek Prince teaches biblical truth. He never taught religious rules, but insisted the believer be led by the Holy Spirit in line with the clear guidance of the scriptures. Beware of self-righteousness, and religious rule keeping which are the antithesis of Dr Prince's teaching. Maintain a humble and contrite heart before your God. God bless all who listen to and act upon this teaching.

Don't give up. When you fail, pick yourself back up and try again. The struggle to fast is real, especially in the beginning. It goes against the very nature of our flesh. The important thing is to focus on our Father. Read the Word, pray often, and read and watch videos on biblical fasting. It will help you to fight through the hunger pants and other ailments that occur with fasting. The good news, if you continue in your fast, those symptoms do to away.

When shall I start fasting morning or night
It doesn't matter what time of day you start your fast. I usually eat the whole day and start my fasting at night. Here's a pointer. Two days before your fast, eat broth for your meals. I do bone broth for the minerals. The broth will give you nourishment, but will also help prepare your tummy. It won't keep you from hunger pants during your early fast; however, I feel it does lessen the intensity to a degree.
I take medication and I’m afraid of fasting
You cannot start a fast in fear. I don't know the medication you take. Some medications can be very dangerous if you quit taking them cold turkey. I would talk with your doctor and tell him you're going to go on a fast for however many days.
If you cannot fast food for medical reasons, there are other fasts you could do. There's the Daniel fast where you only eat fruit and vegetables. You could also give up screen time, no internet, television, movies etc. The later is harder than you think.

Dear Karen, so simple. Fasting means to abstain from food and water for a period of time to seek the Lord's face in prayer. Since u are a newbie, u can try skipping meals and liquids from 12AM to 12pm, but praying in between. say 6am, 9am, and then 12pm before u end (break) the fast. (End the fast taking only liquids: juice; first!!! very important! then after 1hr, u can eat something heavier. this is bcos ur stomach needs time to adjust. If u break the fast with heavy meals, serious stomach cramps can occur) If you have mastered this, then u can extend the fasting period. God bless u as u practice this wonderful kingdom mystery! Receive the gift of prayer and fasting in Jesus Name!

No need to tell the Lord you are fasting. He sees you and knows exactly what you are doing for Him:).
When you pray, honestly you can pray about whatever is on your heart. Or a good idea to pray about while fasting is that you be made more sensitive to the voice of God, or His presence. Or pray about a need in your life that has been heavy on your heart or even that you would go deeper and have more of God while you have less of yourself (which is what you are doing when you fast... more of God, Less of you. We decrease so He can increase:)

You can offer your fast to the lord before you start and turn it in when your finished and pray to get closer to him humbly seek him and his guidance and his Holy Spirit filling just pray worship read the word of God give him praise that’s the whole purpose to get closer to him it’s not just abstaining from food but rather getting closer to The God
I fasted for the first time and was attacked by demonic forces. Be prepared for spiritual warfare and do not give in! God wants us to depend completely on him in everything. I can not stress this enough. Satan will stop at nothing to keep you from becoming closer to Jesus! We are powerful through Christ in fasting and prayer! Be prepared for demonic warfare! My sister in laws were/are practicing Wiccan (they’re oppressed) and this was revealed to me before my fast. Pray through it!

Yes you can drink water. But only the necessary. Drinking water through your fast it's not meant to fill your stomach. And you must pray and read your Bible. Your food will be the Word of God. Also ask the Holy Spirit to strenghten you through your fast.

Staying away from food and communicating with God through prayer, worship and reading the bible.
Those public confessions of him have enspired so much me and enabled me to humble myself too. How great and faithful is our God.
