Tracks like this always remind me why I actually got into Drum 'n Bass. I'm only 17 and not that long in the scene, but I freakin' love this more oldschool and REAL DnB stuff.
I cannot stop listening to this. The vocals are absolutely sublime and the lyrics strike a chord with me right now. And that beat?! Wow. Loving the bass as well. Quite an old school feel, but also very now sounding. Calyx, keep producing stuff like this. Thank you.

I have listened to those tracks, and yes I loved the deep distorted yet rhythmic basslines. They were amazing. But from a standpoint of the lyrical content, they needed to be brought to the forefront in this track. They are highly uplifting, almost spiritual. If you cannot appreciate that dimension of this track then it is you, child, who have no soul.

You're right about the vibe; the combination of his voice, the bass and synth strongly remind me of Artful Dodger - Re-rewind, which is probably the most famous garage track, but the breakpatern is drum n bass.
