I have listened to those tracks, and yes I loved the deep distorted yet rhythmic basslines. They were amazing. But from a standpoint of the lyrical content, they needed to be brought to the forefront in this track. They are highly uplifting, almost spiritual. If you cannot appreciate that dimension of this track then it is you, child, who have no soul.

You're right about the vibe; the combination of his voice, the bass and synth strongly remind me of Artful Dodger - Re-rewind, which is probably the most famous garage track, but the breakpatern is drum n bass.

This song sounds great. I hate to admit it, but the obvious drum&bass section sort of killed it.
I'm saying the many of the new kids in the scene don't fully appreciate much of drum and bass because they don't experience one of the key factors of it, being bass, because they're only listening to it on the built in speakers on their laptop or their shitty ipod earphones. Thus more and more artists are catering the market leaving us with this new style i like to call "drum and mids"
This tune is boss, but many won't appreciate it because all they hear is drums.
