@@Hiddenjemzreact There was a sequel mini-series, but no Gus of course....and somebody else may have played TLJ's part.....but it was pretty good too. Not nearly as good as the original though.
Thank you so much for reacting to this. It’s easily my favorite TV show of all time, and I’ve just been waiting for someone to react to it. I’m very excited to watch along!
This is one of my favorite westerns, if not my favorite. I remember everybody watching it at the time and talking about it, but I was a rebellious teenager and didn’t watch. I’m glad that I watched it a couple of decades later. I won’t spoil which part, but one of the upcoming parts makes me cry every single time.
@@Hiddenjemzreact Well, Lonesome Dove does have a sequel and has a big cast however Tommy Lee Jones was replaced by Jon Voight playing Capt. Cal and Anjelica Huston who played Clara, Robert Duvall's 1st love interest was replaced by Barbara Hershey. Newt, Pee Eye and July Johnson all played by the original actors. And added are William F. Peterson before he starred in CSI and Oliver Reed from Gladiator plus a few others. Was a worthy sequel to the 1st Lonesome Dove.
@@Hiddenjemzreact yes it’s a book you just can’t put down. My favorite part of the book is when they go to Mexico and steal horses from Pedro. It reads from the point of view of Newt. Who is just a scared boy thinking he was lost and when they stampeded the horses it was all he could do to hang on and not fall off. It is a very good read
@@Hiddenjemzreact the book was so funny to me. I laughed out loud often while reading it. The movie is great, but the book adds so much to the characters.
So happy to see someone finally react to this... hope you enjoy it as much as I have
Loved it so much. Sad there weren't more episodes with the same characters😊

You're welcome. It is a great show 😊
You will not regret looking at this mini series. Excellent show. I've enjoyed your reaction. ❤
Thank you. We're so glad it was recomnended😊
one of my all-time faves. Robert Duvall will always be Gus McRae to me. what an iconic character, the philosopher warrior
We agree 😊

@@Hiddenjemzreact maybe so. 🤷♂️
A great mini series. Watch it every couple years.
Robert Duval is an excellent actor however I think that this is his best role 😀 👍.
I recently rewatched it on blue ray it was like seeing it for the first time. Still the best thing I've ever seen on film.
Totally agree😊 We will be sad when it ends, wish there were more than 4 episodes!
@@Hiddenjemzreact There's two prequels and a sequel that are great too...but with a few different actors. :)
@@wheelmanstan I don't mind different actors as long as they are just as good😊

For my money Lonesome Dove is the best western ever
This is one that I can honestly say the book is ten times better than the movie. And the movie is incredible.
I may have to read the book if it's that much better 😊 - Dawn
