    Had so much fun dropping by Team Posse, def a gym I recommend if you visit Seoul! If you guys are interested in getting to be super reactive and confident sparring takes, check out the exact program I use to help develop these instincts: www.mmashredded.com/preptosparfight

      There is only minimal aggressiveness. Compared to old school sparring where one wears body guard and ball guard to spar (optional gloves), this is NOTHING. The true skills are lost here. This is just play.

    • @mkleng
      @mkleng 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Spinning Back-Kick It's simple. If you wear body guard and ball guard to fight, both fighters are way more incline to go all out to hit rather than holding back. And this brings out your true speed and true power. And when these aspects are brought out, your feet stance and distances are wider, you go lower in order to thrust forward with speed and also power, you have to really work to close the gap, giving you the reality of a true fight. It's also way more exhausting cuz there's a lot more work and tactic involved. It's very different and, if one wants to be genuine in the pursuit of martial arts, going this way is better than this vid which is just light (holding back) kinda sparring play. Trust me, mate. Try it. :)

      I honestly though the guy in gray at 5:55 tries too hard. He was jabbing a lot but also was leaving a lot of opennings. There are plenty of times where his rib or lead leg qas just open for Jeffs round house. He wouldn't be able to continue to jab is someone gets those kicks in full power.

      Agreed. Especially his kicks are one of the most fluid and yet technical kicks I've seen. He is also marketable - good looking, dynamic stand up throws and yet well all around style, ethnically covers Asian geography to attract fan bases and yet grew up in Canada so he speaks perfect English and understands N American culture. (Can you imagine how much more K Zombie popular if he could speak English? and cracks some jokes or get heated argument with opponents? I am giant fan of him, but... his lack of English and politeness makes him...well not so marketable ) I hope he ascend into the stardom. :))

      His footwork was great. His switches had perfect timing, he didn’t have to overextend once, he kept a great pace and was able to slip to where he wanted with ease. Your only other arguments would be head movement and angle cuts, and it didn’t really look like he wanted or needed it for the style he like to fight in. Especially when there’s literally no corner or rope to worry about. You’re assuming a lot. Especially given his wrestling was based on angle and drag rather than lift and leverage, I doubt he doesn’t consider angles. You can tell a lot by a person’s shot

    Hey Jeff, nice Video. Ive been injured two years ago and after that, I got a little insecure when it comes to sparring. Yesterday, I had a harder sparring session and many opponents controlled me pretty well. One of them said, that I need to pressure harder and attack more aggressivly. After I did this, my sparring was way better, even though I got some nasty shots to the face.
    Anyway, many times I see you waiting for your opponent to make a move and counter him afterwards. When I do that, I eat 1-2 shots and then I´m not able to counter him properly. Is my timing off? Thanks a lot, mate!

      I can relate to what youre saying cuz i do the same unconsciously.
      Im not jeff, but in my experience i lose the counter game when i become passive and relax. Maybe it's because I'm a dumb fighter, but passively waiting for the attack always results in me being too late or anticipating the wrong move. Instead, what works for me is applying pressure and baiting my opponent into attacking how i want them to. When I'm "waiting for the counter", what I'm actually doing is making mini feints and searching for openings in my opponents guard to attack. That way, my body is already ready to move if my opponent attacks first and i wont be too slow. I believe this is what jeff is doing too.
      I hope this comes across the way i intended!

    • @laughydawg9594
      @laughydawg9594 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another tip, when facing a smarter or more experienced opponent, i find it more effective to always attack and change angles and attack patterns and combos. This may be very tiring but personally, if i stop for a moment and let my opponent think, I'll always lose the next exchange

      hey brother! being aggressive is def good, especially aggressive countering. Pressuring and countering the counter. unfortunately, not to make excuses, I hadn't trained for 3 weeks before this session because of a staff infection I had in Taiwan, so I was out of shape and waited to go at his pace

    • @DerTeke
      @DerTeke 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MMAShredded Hey man, first of all, thanks for your answer. But the whole difference between you and me is: when you go at his pace, it works. When i do that (espacially against taller opponents) I get beaten up. Is it you timing or is it something else, that makes your counters so efficient. Thanks for the help, bro!

    • @DerTeke
      @DerTeke 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@laughydawg9594 Thank you so much for your answer. I think I need to fight more aggressive and need to use all the techniques at my hand, because actually my technique is very good. I will try to throw more feints :) Thanks man!

    I absolutely love your style of fighting. You're a real technician. The way you move and how you cover a great distance with just a kick. I just keep watching and try to suck up everything I see like a sponge. I catch myself trying to mimic some of your moves when I'm sparring (though I'm really just a recreational 'fighter'). I love how easy you throw fast combos and those kicks are insane.
    With my 98 kilos and 190cm I'm not a lightweight so in sparring I keep surprising my opponents with some fines and technic. They expect a browler with heavy KO hits. But what's the fun in that haha.
    Thank you for showing your talent. It let's me grow as well. Great sparring as always and I'm looking forward for new videos!
