love how this brainwashed me into thinking “aw she’s happy”. it doesn’t brain wash EVERYONE, it brain washes people who have gone through a tough relationship. cheating, abusive, neglect, etc.
I think that’s one of the best parts of the movie; cults most often prey on the hurt, the lonely, the vulnerable, and this portrayal of indoctrination is so accurate that it can work on audience members, too.
