Every time I think about this set of hear its name I get the Aladdin song with the same name stuck in my head :P
Ante wasn't banned for being gambling. It was banned because everybody hated it with a lot of passion. It was just a bad thing to have in the game.
The War Elephant binder is insane. It's cool to have random stuff like that though.
It's kind of funny to me that you have Serendib Efreet graded and in thick plastic, while your Juzam Djinn, which is probably a lot more expensive, even though it's not in as good a state, is just in the binder like that.
City in a Bottle isn't banned, but it did recieve errata that lists literally every card this card affects because otherwise it doesn't work in the rules.

btw. i love those little things like a favourite Card like the elephant. thats funny, and a true honor to the artist. Btw. the value of a NM elephant (which i assume bye your love you put into storage) raise to 6-10 Dollards in the meantime

Thanks for sharing this! I always wanted to collect this set but only just got into it about 5 months ago. I too love the artwork and the lore. I'm probably only about 20% of the way but hopefully I will eventually get a beautiful complete set just like yours! My first card for this set was a NM Guardian Beast! That one is always going to be my precious!

78/92 cards is correct, though there is one more variant that some sources recognize -- the campfire/mirage/cave Desert. 2 out of every 11 deserts had what might best be described as a printing artifact in the dune that is slightly left of center in the artwork. Given that some of the variants in The Dark and Antiquities are less obvious, I think it's worth including. I will add that multiple grading companies do recognize this variant.

@@tcgcompletionist Yes, but it's purely collector dependent. Take a look around. No one cared 30 years ago, but now? Some people obviously do. As to how much difference? I haven't really looked into it as I don't need to sell and I've got a few so I don't need any.

haha no clue how I missed your comment bro! yes I have a few cards I just love and generally try to get 36 copies of every common uncommon from those old special sets. war elephant being my biggest position by far with around 550 copies and trying to get to a thousand
As far as graded cards for my sets.
So, first and foremost, I do not use D ring binders, I use Z folio's that have the sleeves pre-fused into the binder.
I know this may drive some people crazy, but when I get a graded card, I will break it out of the slab, then it is double sleeved and in the binder along with the remainder of the cards.
I am a collector, but I also enjoy playing the game and you can't do shit with a slabbed card so I can break them out so I can use them.
I do the same I break out most slabs. except these because im too uncomfortable damaging the card while breaking the slab
@@tcgcompletionist I think an 8.5 moat is the most expensive card I have cracked from a slab.

I wouldn't be sure how to display it and its pretty well protected that way but I think ultimately you are right!
I've heard that binders can ruin cards, not sure if it's true
some can just get D ring binders and you'll be good. sunlight does the most damage
