I'd love to go to Talladega, not only to watch a race but to see the size of the track. One of my dad's friends went back in the 80s and said it was absolutely enormous.
If you are a race fan this is definitely a bucket list thing to go to. I’ve always loved watching Talladega on tv and would end up sitting on the edge of my seat at home mesmerized at how the cars would jockey for position so close to one another going that fast. My wife and I finally got an opportunity to go to a race there a couple of years ago and all I can say is WOW what an experience. The track is located just off of I-20 out in the middle of no where and IT IS HUGE. We did the whole shabang while there, a couple of days before the race we went to the Talledga race museum, and did the track tour…..but the ultimate icing on the cake was that during the track tour we unfortunately could not go onto the racetrack itself because the track tour guide said that they (the track officials) were doing a fundraiser where the general public could buy a pass to be able to drive your own vehicle around the track. YES….YOU READ CORRECTLY, DRIVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE ON TALLADEGA SUPER SPEEDWAY !! Well, needless to say I couldn’t get in that line fast enough after the track tour was over with ! The pass allowed you to drive 3 laps around the track for (I believe at that time) $99………it was the best money ever spent. We jumped in my truck afterwards and followed the pass directions to the racetrack back stretch. Once there we had to sign a release waiver and as soon as I handed the clipboard back we were told to get in line behind a couple other cars. No sooner than I pulled behind the other cars we were motioned to follow the guide vehicle and out onto the track we went, a total of 5 vehicles in our group. We started on the back stretch towards turn 3 and dropped down to the inside apron, going slowly through turns 3 & 4 all I could do is lean forward and look out the top (and I do mean top) right corner of my windshield at the steep banking and outside wall with catch fence through the turns. TV does not do this track justice….it is truly something to see. After coming out of turn 4 we went up onto the track down the front stretch and started picking up speed, by the time we reached the tri-oval we were doing around 55mph and stayed at that speed well into our first lap. Going through the banking in turns 1 & 2 you felt like you were going to fall out the drivers door….OMG are they steep ! My wife was recording the experience on her phone and all I remember her doing was screaming out loud as we went through the turns. Once we completed our 1st lap we picked up speed to about 70mph…..but people got smart and the cars ahead of me started backing off the throttle some to create a bigger gap (about a football field in length) between the cars, and so did I. That allowed us to accelerate well beyond 70mph to close the gap and get back in line behind the guide vehicle. I remember on my 2nd lap crossing the start/finish line doing 100mph before I caught back up to the vehicle ahead of me in the middle of turns 1 & 2 again. Even at 100mph it felt like you were barely crawling on that racetrack, it really felt surreal. Going onto the backstretch everyone did the same thing again creating the big gap between us and accelerating…..this time I was able to hit 120mph before catching up. Lap 3 though was the best in my opinion. The guide vehicle was still doing around 70mph, so the lead car backed off and let it get well ahead he then stuck his hands out the window and gestured the motion of one car right behind the other (in other words “drafting”). I immediately knew exactly what he was referencing….and so did the other cars. By this point the guide vehicle was through the tri-oval and well on his way to turn 1. We were between turn 4 and the tri-oval which gave us PLENTY of room to have fun. The lead car accelerated with 2nd car right on his bumper and then me with the last vehicle right behind me. We easily reached 100mph before the start/finish line with a distance of about 2ft between each other and went on through turns 1 & 2 before catching up with the guide vehicle again on the backstretch and having to come to a slow pace to be able to exit the track through the gate. Drafting was a blast, I could only think how crazy it would be for a race car driver doing that at twice the speed we were doing it with cars 1 foot apart on either side of you….WOW. The driver of the guide vehicle got out, smiled and high fived each of us, saying good job as we went through the exit gate……he wasn’t no dummy, he knew what we were doing.😎 Oh, as for my wife….after the out loud screams of lap 1 turns 1 & 2, she was nothing but ear to ear grins the rest of the laps. All I can say is if you have a chance to go to a race at Talladega….GO. If you do and they are doing the fundraiser to drive on the track a couple of days before the race…..for god’s sake DO IT, you will not be disappointed !! 🏁
Broadcast should do this for like the first 5 laps of every race. Drives me nuts how commentators immediately start talking right when they cross the start line.
Agreed. Fox and ESPN used to be really good about this back in the day and I wish they'd bring it back. At the very least the first lap of every race should be nothing but the cars and the crowd.
If I’m not mistaken, they still do this for the super speedways and most of the 1+ mile tracks on fox. Honestly barring Mike Joy though, I think the NBC broadcasts are better.
I hope they do this again, loved back between 2010 they would have the sound of speed where all it was where live audio for a good 10 min of just listening to the cars fly by.
I know I am not the norm, but this is how I want to watch NASCAR. this with no announcers and no commercials
agreed
same
Then you should consider watching a race in person.

6:20 I watched a whole 20 minutes of that in car cam with an audio mix of speed metal. Best trip ever.....

I believe its built on a former airfield
@@00_00.1 It is. Part of the old runway is behind the back stretch if I'm not mistaken.

@@brianspangler3771 Perfect place to build a racetrack
I've been to TMS and COTA but I feel like Talladega would be mind blowing to me. TMS is already huge and trying to get up that banking is crazy.
That race was wild
I can say
I like how they race now bc this is like insane at 200mph inches apart 3 by 3 by 3 lanes of racing on these superspeedways now
@@YxYzYx 😂😂😂😂 that is true
We need this every race
if we could get more of these types of videos, that would be fantastic!

Agree when cars cross the start line There should be at least some ASMR without IMPORTANT conversations
Leigh Diffey starts his calls IMMEDIATELY after the start
Please make videos like this more often. This was fantastic!
Guys this is awesome! We need this silence in every race. Regards from Europe.
“Look at em go” quot from Dale Earnhardt
If only every race was like this, no commercials sponsors slogans just the roar of them engines and great racing ❤👌👏👏👏🏁
I have a 40 min commute to work and I listened to this the whole way. Never been so relaxed 😂
I searched NASCAR ASMR and just knew it had to exist, but I never expected it to be uploaded by the official channel
Same here, and they're awesome for this!
Thank you for this ASMR, NASCAR.
I love just hearing it
Much better than hearing Jeff Burton yell the entire time.
Most awesome sound, ever.
These Next Gen cars sound absolutely incredible
Ikr
I couldn't be the only one that said:
"Let's have a good ol "CRANK IT UP!"
Y'all have to do this for more races! I love this
Thank. You. NASCAR. 🙏🏾
The perfect ASMR video ❤
Can this be longer this is amazing!
Nascar, I beg of you, do this every weekend from now on.
Thank you for uploading this!
This is the sound of my people 🏁🏁🏁
More of these uploads please, any track. 1 hour versions preferred.
We need a NASCAR Crank it Up segment for every race. I know its done in the FOX or NBC/USA broadcast but by the NASCAR channel itself would be great.
Ahhh thank you nascar! was looking for something like this for a while now!
BRO DENNY HAMLIN IS A GODLY DRIVER WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL BRO HES DEF THE FAV FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Give me this for every race. I beg. An alternate stream we can watch on Peacock or something. Please.
NASCAR BABBBBBYYY
Yes
I was at the race it really was agreat damn race
Still nothing like being at the track, that is mind blowing, but I agree woth the majority.. so cool
do this every race PLEASE
"You have 7 minutes and 49 seconds to live"
Hell yeah
Awesome i love the sound of NASCAR stock cars
Incredible four and five wide at Talladega.😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
More of this please
I hope they do this again, loved back between 2010 they would have the sound of speed where all it was where live audio for a good 10 min of just listening to the cars fly by.
This was poetry!!! Thank you!!!
we need one for daytona now
Is it possible to do this for old Talladega races? (especially from the early to mid 2000s)
I love nascar
This will cure insomnia
YOOOOOOO!!!!! On this channel, during the race, there is a live in car cam. Each week is a random car. I watch the whole race from inside Denny's car.
Some of my favorite sounds!
The Generation 4 cars sounded best at the plate tracks especially.
This is my favorite track
Do this for every race track please
Maximum volume !!! Louder boys!!!!
They sound like WW2 warbirds flying in formation 😍🔥
Nascar ASMR😌
Is there a way to get this feed live?
Nothing better !!! 😊😊😊😊
This is real good stuff Love the energy
Not very often we see them all behaving themselves for so long😊
Can this be for 10 hours! Would be so awesome
Yeah but races don’t go for 10 hours. Just put it on replay maybe
fox used to do this for short stretches of the race, it would be great to have this as an option...just nat sound, no commentators or anything
Fox still does this. To me, it’s basically the only good thing about Fox’s broadcasts nowadays. I wish NBC did something similar.
I do love that sound
N-ASMR-CAR
Damn I don’t even like nascar like that but this is sick asf
W NASCAR
Beautiful❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤
Yes
This is awesome!
The funny thing is that the audio is different from what I'm watching...the bad audio starts around the 4 minute mark.
That must have been when NBC cut to break. Sounds like it defaulted to only one microphone
😌 ah sim, um presente para os ouvidos, obrigado hein 👍🏁🏁🏁
We need streaming so that we can have an option for announcers and this.
Ah yes, the perfect ASMR 🔥🔥🔥
bring back CRANK IT UPPPPP
Ahem. I believe at 3:00, I WAS INTERRUPTED!
Oh so good!!!
Tyler Reddick is my favorite driver
SINCE 1987 TO 2023
Make multiple hours of it
LET'S GO RACING AT TALLADEGA DURING THE NASCAR CUP SERIES!
👍👍👍👍👍👍❤
❤
The cars now sound like they're far away. Miss the early 2000's engine sound.
the engines sound like motor boats XD LOL
Nothing But Commercials….everyone was mean to FOX when NBC does the exact same thing.
These drivers can over 200mph in close formation yet people cant even manage to drive down the highway at 75mph. Smh.
It’s so beautiful without announcers
They should just race at talladega every week
blaney w 🎉
I went there before and it was long
ahh yes, american asmr
Deeeeeaaam
This is what the comercials in europe look like
Please just make this the broadcast. I would be the biggest nascar fan. The tv broadcast makes this look mundane, boring and QUIET.
Guys pls can somebody tell me how to watch nascar from another country?
mentally im here
ยืนพื้นกันเท่าไหร่หรอครับ350กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมงอยู่ไหมครับ
I couldn't agree more, too much yapping these days.
Need a *mute commentators* button for real....
How boring is this?
If u want to watch something to fall asleep too go watch soccer 😂
Commentary before and after event....we don't need fake incorrect narratives during a race
