Physical buttons on the interior and actual handles for the doors makes this a win in theory. I hope all other EV makers carry that forward; real buttons and knobs are needed for certain functions.

How many buttons does your iPhone or Android have? Or your tablet?
Much cheaper to not put buttons. You can easily add new features if it’s screen based.
Physical buttons are very useful in cars because you can often make adjustments without actually looking at them. When eveything is on a screen that is very challenging.
@@SirHackaL0t. I don't need to adjust my phone or tablet while driving. I do need to adjust the climate control, put the vehicle in reverse, lower the volume, adjust the brightness of my headlights, turn on my signals, and so on. I don't need new features, I need buttons. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay handle the rest.
@@SirHackaL0t. you don't use your phone by feel, you have to look at it, and in a car that means looking away from the phone. Physical buttons that can be reassigned would seem a good idea
The fun thing about the UI is that they use the unreal engine in order to create all those graphics

I know the Hummer EV looks big in the video but it looks even bigger and better in person. I see them on the road all the time and it is an impressive vehicle. I love the front light bar.
I LOVE that they didn't make this look like out of the future or like concept cars, this design fits my taste perfectly. It's not overdone. Even the sound inside while accelerating isn't sci-fi.

That truck bed step is definitely good for short people. As short person I appreciate that. I am 5'0 feet tall. And I am a 37 years old. And I am a male. And that electric Hummer EV is awesome looking.
I just got my Hummer EV SUV First Edition before Christmas. I enjoy every minutes I am driving the car. It is so nimble and quick. The ride quality is far better than my Mercedes ML350. 😊😊😊
After seeing this video, I can say that I'm officially intrigued! I've always seen the hummer ev as more of a "working concept" - like you buy the first Gen to fund the R&D of the 2nd Gen, and that's the one you woukd really want.
If they can fix the charging, I would say it's pretty good competition for tesla!
Nobody wants to wait hours for their vehicle to be fully charged. That’s something that still needs to be worked on.

I was just watching Bright Sun Films Bankrupt series episode on AM General HUMMER. Seems like the same is bound to happen with this generation of Hummer. GM can only make a few thousand unit MAX per year. The development and manufacturing cost is more than that. High Cost and Low Sales = Bankrupt.

So fresh news from today, apparently they are issuing a recall on all battery packs, they are not 100% waterproof and fortunately replacing them under warranty (the pack costs $60k).
Actually I like it and it was so nice to see the Fam in the Video. I think your Brother really liked it as well. I think wether it’s Electric or Gas it doesn’t matter because they are going to do whatever they want regardless and I don’t think changing any rules would make a difference because I see crazy drivers from all some times.Awesome Video Thanks for sharing ✌️

GM / Chevy EV’s have the perfect combination of screen size / tech and physical buttons. I hate how everything is on a screen for a Tesla. That’s insane to me. Rivian as well

Great review! You should review more cars. Not a fan of EVs but this is definitely a beast of a truck. I know Stradman had a lot of issues with his and the charging network.

For the less informed:
This vehicle is of course a different part of the market than the more practical Plaid and Model X $100k pricepoint vehicles. The hummer will remain a niche, low volume production vehicle because of that and especially considering the bottleneck of battery supply for auto makers.
If anything it will compete more with other large ICE trucks in the market or the Cybertruck when that comes out, but even the Cybertruck is supposed to be intended for more practical purposes and different audience of style choice plus cheaper pricepoints (if everything goes according to plan, we'll see).
Aside from the comparisons w Tesla (which left a lot out) nice review!
tesla doesn't have "autopilot", it only has adaptive cruise control. no one is even remotely close to "autopilot".

Watch the @thestradman video when he took his to Moab. He had tons of issues . I'm all for EVs, but if you spend over $100k for a truck you shouldn't have to deal with what he did.

Watch Stradman try to drive this thing and charge it on a trip... EVs are many many many years off... It takes less than five minutes to go from empty to full on gas...

The Hummer stays obnoxious. It knows what it is. Athletes and celebs will love it until the cheaper models come down in a few years. 100% agree…charging will be an issue for years to come…especially in cities where people don’t typically have garages

There was EV charging infrastructure in the BBB but Manchin took it out. I blame him for that struggle you went through, and I'm not going electric until the infrastructure is in place. That said, yours is the only video to make this Hummer look attractive. Now I kinda want one.
Getting a lot of praise here but I have seen where there are issues long term. GMC had battery issues with it and had a recall in 2022 and the battery now is having issues. There have been software issues. Try towing with it, the battery goes fast. It can tow 7500 pounds, but the Ford F-150 Lightning can do 10,000 and the Rivian can do 11,000 pounds. The Cyber Truck will do 14,000 pounds with ease it is said...With more range.

I can't wait until someone puts 30 inch spinners on this electric vehicle.
Wait. 67 miles for $18? That's $0.27 per travel mile. My gas truck will give me that same mile of travel for $0.15 at $3.00 a gallon of gas at 20 miles per gallon. And if I drive my Honda CR-V that gets about 32mpg, thats even more value.
Besides, the fossel fuel needed to generate the electricity is still there AND there is at least 3 energy "brokers" all taking a piece of my wallet just to get that same "gas" in electricity form that takes nearly 10x as long to get into my EV. Tell me again why I should do this whole EV thing?
Now that the Hummer is an EV and not a gas guzzler version. Just the infrastructure is a solution that makes a Tesla the one I would purchase at this time.
Ah, I was thinking about the Stradman video when you said you were going off-roading. Glad your experience was better than his. *Breaking News* Tesla superchargers in a few locations are open to CCS cars now. Hopefully these bad charging experiences will be a thing of the past soon.

I love when one of my favorite TH-camr’s reference other favorites. Stradman’s video about his trip with the Hummer going off roading and the issues that arose throughout involving charging was horrifying. The infrastructure for anything outside of Tesla really is not there yet. And with MKBHD releasing a video about the non-Tesla vehicles charging at select Tesla Superchargers currently, makes you wonder if Tesla is operating like Apple. Closing off their ecosystem to preserve it but also allowing limited access when it benefits them (and their pockets).
This EV goes to show just how overpriced the Model X is.

It's crazy how hard it is to get it charged but in Al Mazrah you can get a full charge at any gas station in like 1 or 2 minutes.
What about the Ford F-150? This thing is not efficient overall, but it sure looks sweet!

Ummm, unless you get a Tesla. You won't pay anything near $18 more like $5 for 100 miles. I'd say that price goes way beyond practical.
For the price you pay for this thing, you cold buy a house ! Ev's should be cheaper not 3x the price. The bonus this thing weighs almost double the weight as the Actual Hummer.
