I need to take this route one of these days; I can't recall if I've ever done it, but if so it's been a long time. Usually to get to the peninsula I take the Mukilteo-Clinton to Whidbey Island, then drive up to take the Keystone-Port Townsend ferry. Or I'll drive up to Anacortes and take the Deception Pass bridge to Whidbey and then the Keystone ferry.
Interesting to see that boarding/unboarding procedures are the same as here in Europe. the ships are different, especially the superstucture and bridge. Jusr recently I have returned from Norway and did a few Fjordcrossings by ferry. In some places the Norwegians operate fully electric ferries.
