You should 1000% do a deep dive into TVXQ - come on, they are true legends and kings in the kpop genre...how could you not want to deep dive?! It's always so wonderful to see newer kpop fans react to TVXQ and realize their intense talent, as they are so criminally overlooked and underappreciated in current kpop. Forgot to mention - when you asked during Purple Line just how they could have 16 singles in Japan in such a short time....yeah that's when TVXQ were worked to near death and it was a big reason why the three other past members sued SM Entertainment. TVXQ were basically working and going between Korea and Japan nonstop from 2005-2009. Literally nonstop. If you look at their schedules back then they weren't even allowed vacations or days off. 4 hours of sleep at night if they were lucky.

also lol their early sound is not rocky at all even though Tri-angle (one of their title tracks in their first album) has like a rocky metal sound mixed with pop and classical music (very much SM at the time). they actually were quite honestly kings of ballads and live singing. they have really stellar ballads and slower tunes in their early discography

But their harmonies as five and the raw talent they had as just really young boys is astounding. I don’t think many boy groups, if any, could ever live up to early TVXQ

People always underestimate and fail to appreciate Yunho's vocals. He may not have the range of Changmin, but he's an excellent vocalist in his own right. Honestly, I prefer to listen to him, because he may not be as technically proficient, but the timbre of his voice is so much mroe pleasing to my ears. He's also the hot one. Just like with his voice, Changmin is technically prettier, but Yunho is still the far sexier one. In fact, he's the sexiest man in all of KPop. It's not even a contest. And please don't sing along. You're not the one with the recording contract--for a reason. They are. Let them do their job.
Just fun fact. Jae joong (hero) is the face of tvxq and SM have sought his face shape in future gens. That why there are some idols that look similar to Hero. Also, apparently, final fantasy 15 took inspiration from his face for one of their characters.
