If you are new to my channel, my name is Hugo Santos. I am passionate about programming and entrepreneurship, being a Sitecore solutions architect and senior developer. My specialty is providing consulting services to companies in countries with strong currencies, because I believe that this is the most profitable business model in the world for devs. I am also the founder of PDS Academy, which offers products aimed at IT professionals who want to start an international career - or earn even more in it. Today we have hundreds of mentees - and we generate more than 8 digits (31MM) per year for them.
Oh, and how did I get here? Learn a little about my story:
18 years old (2007): I enrolled in the Computer Science course at CIn/UFPE, one of the most renowned centers for teaching and research in computing in Latin America.
20 years old: After 2 years of the course, I got my first internship, earning R$700 at the time.
22 years old: I graduated in Computer Science and started earning R$2200.
24 years old: I changed companies, lived in SP for 6 months to gain more experience and increased my salary to R$4000. At that time, I realized that the way to earn a good income was to be paid in dollars.
25 years old: I passed an international selection process and went to live in Canada, receiving 4 thousand Canadian dollars.
26 years old: My salary was increasing, but I wasn't happy being away from my family and in the Canadian cold.
26 years old: I opened a startup in the IT area that didn't work out.
26 years old: I opened a sushi restaurant in Canada that also didn't work out.
26 years old: I discovered that there was a category of programmers, who worked as international remote consultants, who received the highest salaries in the world.
28 years old: I became an expert in international selection processes, became an authority in my field, and started winning MVPs.
30 years old (2019): I returned to Brazil, but now working for the world. In Canada, my last salary was 6 thousand Canadian dollars. In Brazil, my salary became 10 thousand American dollars, as an international remote consultant. - 30 years old: I wrote the book The Successful Programmer, explaining the method I followed to earn over R$30,000 per month. It became a bestseller on Amazon, and was also the best-selling book in Brazil for months in the category.
33 years old: I made R$103,000 (20 thousand dollars) in my first month. And I started looking at the numbers: from 2014 to 2019, when I lived in Canada, I made 372 thousand Canadian dollars, which at an average exchange rate of 2.59 came to R$963 thousand. Between 2020 and 2024, working remotely from Brazil to the world, I made R$3.5 million. Eureka! I had discovered the best business model for programmers in the world.
34 years old (2023): I created PDS Academy in January, with only 2 employees (me and my partner).
34 years: With dozens of mentees approved for positions abroad, the company gained fame and respect, reaching 20 employees in its first year of existence. Today it has professionals from the most diverse areas, including an expert team of tutors who already earn in dollars and help me with the mentees.
35 years: PDS Academy grew even more and became a leader in the segment in Brazil: today it is the largest national company focused on international IT careers, generating more than R$31 million per year for mentees.
This is a little about my career and the history of PDS Academy.
Today I continue as an international remote consultant and also head of PDS Academy.

E ai, aconselha eu manter no python?
