    I have lived in the UAE now for the past ten years, and I can testify that is one of the safest places in the world, and there is a big push for family living. I love it.

    As a bilingual, I've realized that different nations have very different conceptions of "freedom" and "sovereignty" just from the language. The Western freedom is often conceived as "freedom of x y z" such as freedom of speech, religion, association etc. Whereas the East conceives freedom as "freedom from x y z", such as freedom from poverty, violence, unaccessible healthcare, poor social cohesion etc.

      I always think that my freedom will have limition..
      I can say whatever to other people even rude thing that is my freedom if you have western point of view but for me it is not freedom anymore when you insult other people.. it is out of line because though you dont like the people try to critize them in good manner or just keep it to yourself (sometimes being silence is gold) 😂😂.. maybe others cannot understand it and think it is silly

      As a polyglot, it's nothing to do with language. The entire value system is different.
      In the middle East, it comes from God and the concept of hereafter. Same with India. The West is godless or their God is very flexible. Not so with Islam or Hinduism. Your karma counts!
      There's no sinning and getting away with it unlike the West. It's the story your parents and the values you're family instills in you that makes the most difference.

      @@barcannon it's an arabic word meaning religious rules, could be any religion but the word since it's arabic used to talk about Islam in particular (similar to Allah meaning god in Arabic hence why the Arabic bible got the world allah in it).
      so when you say you follow sharia laws what people mean you follow religious laws or laws of Islam, for example don't drink alcohol, no eating pigs, disrespecting your family is a sin, sex out of marriage (aka zina) is also forbidden they call forbidden in Islam Haram (another arabic word that can be used for anything but again used for religion while it not nesseccary is)
      My dad was deployed in the ME and i was born their before returning to eastern eu then working in belguim you can ask me anything about them cuz i studied their history

    What’s the point of feeling free if you can’t go to sleep EVERY night without making sure your house doors and windows are locked and all the cameras are on.
    What’s the point of feeling free if you deeply doubt the educational system.
    What’s the point of feeling free if you constantly get confused and doubtful about the future of your relationships.
    Freedom isn’t everything, it’s important, it’s essential to us, but without a guide and necessary restrictions; it becomes more of an illusion to distract people and deceive them.

    Middle east countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar are some of the best countries to raise a family because the schools/educational institutions in those countries don't teach the non-curriculum stuff or subjects to kids that is being taught at schools in America.

    Financial security isn't a bad thing but we've gotten to a point where people think almost anything can be justified by getting paid enough money for it. Sleep with your wife, sure. Give up your self respect, sure. Demean yourself, sure. Pimp yourself to the world, sure. Transition your kid, why not? At some point sacred honor can't be for sale at any price.

    The highest value and virtue in Islam is Justice. Which freedom is on of it is main many other components of Justice. Justice is Justice but also referres to God too at the sametime. It is one of the 99 names of God after all: "The All-Just". Righteousness is at the top which part of it is being just and pious. However that is on individual base. But on collective Justice systematically in Islam is at the top.

      I don’t know about that. High taxes and too much government interfering in people’s lives, which is the opposite of freedom, has lots of people moving. Thats government telling people “we are taking this amount of your money and you can’t do anything about it.”. Not to mention other things like “you have no choice, you are getting this vaccine.”, and “we’re not issuing you a concealed carry permit and we’re going to make it almost impossible for you to carry a weapon and defend yourself against a violent criminal, and if you do, we’ll arrest you instead of the actual criminal.”, and “if you want to open a business or build an addition on your home, it’ll take a decade to get permission and it’ll cost you millions of dollars in fees.”, and the list goes on. This is not freedom…

The Quran is to complete the Bible and make it more clear. We all have the same Prophets. All religions came from Allah (do you researched with "Allah", Chrisitians use it too.     What many people forget, especially in the US, is freedom is NOT an end unto itself. Freedom is meant for people to achieve that which they wish to.     Freedom works fine, if the People living in the Country are a Moral & Righteous People.
    Similar, Safety works fine, if the Government ensuring that safety is run by a Moral & Righteous People.
    The problem in America is that neither the People nor the Government are Moral or Righteous, nor are they guided by any shared Religion, or Higher Purpose.
    In Middle Eastern Countries, the People & the Government share a common Religion, Culture, and Higher Purpose. That's why they work so well together.
    Americans have this twisted idea that their Country is the only best country in the world, when in reality, that's an entirely subjective view point. I have some friends in India who have lived in America and still chose to move back to India and now don't want to come to US at all because of all the craziness here.
    Even though most People might think India as a 3rd world country, there are People in 3rd world countries who are perfectly fine and content living in their Country.
    So, at the end of the day, we know what works best for a Country, and so far, America is far from that path.

      However, we know that a Nation can only exist from the basic nuclear family unit, a shared moral culture, and strong borders.
      America has none of those things.

    This is a comtext-less examination of what “freedom” is or means in the context of America and western countries in general. We must also remember positive vs negative freedom (ladder basically being a lack of self control) this is why John Adam’s said “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” America is supposed to be about is about positive freedom ideally for those who are moral and religious, but one doesn’t have to be religious to be moral, or disciplined, possess good character etc. The point though is that these freedom aren’t meant for say outright lawlessness or anarchism. With this in mind I’m gonna have to agree with Benjamin Franklin when he said "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”.

People in communal countries, such as many Islamic countries, have freedoms, but they are limited as they cause disruption for the country. Viktor Frankl, famous psychologist for his understanding of happiness, said happiness comes from meaning. Meaning comes from restricting your freedom based on principles.       Yup. We (Hindus) call it the Four Purusharthas (the four objectives or goals of human existence). They go by the names - 1) Dharma, 2) Artha, 3) Kama and 4) Moksha. This is the most basic teachings of Hindu culture.
      Moksha (Liberation or Freedom from the birth-death-rebirth cycle) is the highest goal of human existence. It is a spiritual goal (not so much freedom in the way Americans understand that word).
      But in order to achieve the highest spiritual goal of liberation (Moksha) one must first understand Dharma (righteousness, ethics, morality, right conduct, right values, etc). One who is in alignment with Dharma (right conduct) will easily achieve the four goals of human existence (the Four Purusharthas).
      Artha refers to the pursuit of materialistic needs (like wealth, family, properties, basic comforts and other forms of materialistic needs that every human requires to live well). But Artha needs to be balanced by the principles of Dharma (moral code) so that we avoid greed, avarice, etc when pursuing our materialistic needs (artha).
      Kama means the pursuit of pleasures in life. This includes sex, food and other delights of the senses. The book Kama Sutra comes from the word Kama. But the West has fetished the concept of Kama (they also reduced the word Tantra into sex but I digress). Kama (or pursuit of pleasures) is meant to be approached with balance of mind (we can experience pleasures of the senses but we must not go overboard and fall into the trap of hedonism - this is why Dharma is the most important of the four purushathas because Dharma alone is the moral foundation that helps us balance our life and pursue the four goals in a balanced way without falling into the traps of extremes). For this reason, Dharma is the most important word to a learned Hindu (our religion is in fact called Sanatana Dharma which means Eternal Dharma).

    Freedom itself comes with a cost. If you indulge completely in individualism and absolute liberty, you do have another, negative side to that coin.
    The point is, we in the west only have a sense of governmental lawfulness. We don’t do things because we fear judicial consequences. Eastern influenced cultures either have that sense of togetherness or religion, a higher power who will eventually hold them accountable. Those kind of systems are primed for moral structures to build on.

      A country that represent having a limited government still has some government involvement like doing these things.
      - Having a minimum of common-sense regulations enforced without over regulating the economy.
      - Establishing laws that prohibits committing violent crimes, theft, vandalism, and prohibited violating age limit laws. In other words being tough on crime when it comes to those particular crimes.
      - Establishing individual rights like civil rights, body autonomy rights, and obviously constitutional rights.
      - Having funding for the US military, the US infrastructure, only having 3 social safety net programs ( aka having the EITC program and the Medicaid Program for poor people with the SSI program for people with disabilities ), and maybe having a public catastrophic health insurance option that people can either opt in to pay taxes or opt out to pay taxes ( in which maternity care would be covered under that catastrophic plan ).
      Outside of those four aspects, people get out of the personal freedom / liberty to do what they like with also laying the capitalist market economy work its magic.

    What’s very interesting Muslims since the beginning of European colonialism in Africa and Asia knew what the negative would hold in the future if they accepted “liberty, freedom, liberalism, secularism and scepticism” from these colonisers and they where right. Look what’s happening in the West they are losing *and many cases lost* their faith, family values is not really respected anymore, women are becoming more promiscuous, men are becoming weaker, homosexuality and other degenerate behaviour is growing, homelessness has become crazy *especially in the UK and the US*, there are more gangs and crimes going on, crazy drug abuses and alcohol abuses etc etc. So for centuries we Muslims knew “Freedom” and all other secular ideologies us a hidden trap that will ruin societies.
