I moved back to PH for quite awhile now and I still suck at speaking it. Tagalog, literally, was my only highest grade when I was younger. When you get older and lived more than half of your life in the states, it will really take a lot of time to go back and learn the culture all over again. I still get shook by my own culture.

Great effort Aki. I speak a few other dialects, namely hiligaynon and ibaloi, have an ear for maguindanaon and ilocano, but I use Cebuano for every day. I prefer English over Tagalog/Pilipino. Hahaha. And yes Malaysian does sound like Tagalog and the many other dialects in the Philippines as they are grouped in the same branch of languages, Malayo-Polynesian.
