You been nicking my ideas 😜 I've been making wine kits for years, I also sub the yeast for red wines for a more fruity finish. I also use my fermenting fridge to controll temp-if there's not beer brewing in there 😅
Great video, cheers! I've often thought about the effects of adding gypsum to a white wine to dry it out but never got round to it. I make a lot of rhubarb wine so will give it a try at some point.
Nice vid chaps. Been carbonating Beaverdale Chardonnay kits for a few years now and a dedicated fizz tap, but think I should try a Wine Expert kit. Happy wife, happy life. #she’sworthit 😂🍻🍻🍻
Thanks for the water tip, would have been interesting to have use tap water in the standard batches to see if that made a taste difference. I use filtered tap water and SM . But will try spring water. Very interesting cheers john
Fantastic video! My wife has wanted to make her wine fizzy for a while now but I have been reluctant to give up one of my five kegs to wine😂 Think I had better buy one of those oxebar containers for her then she can stop buying cava😂
I find Winexpert now provide ec118 yeast after supplying a beyond it's best date yeast last year which needs hydrating before adding to wine? However they have not changed their generic instructions.
I've not made wine since my student days and this inspired me to try a couple of your recommended kits. I ordered a couple of demijohns, airlocks and stoppers. All straightforward until I put in the white stoppers with airlocks. They didn't want to stay in the neck of the dj, kept sliding up. In the end I had to tie them in place with baler twine. Never had this trouble with rubber bungs. Am I doing something wrong?
They can be a pain, we've found they are best if they are dry. Push the bung in first and then insert the bubbler. Glad we inspired you though to try the wine kits and hope they turned out well!
"Buy these great kits", so I look on their website and Malbec is sold out for 6 bottle. Grrrrr! So now I am buying the Malbec elsewhere and Malt Miller lose the sale. Can I suggest that you buy a few kits when you are talking about these? That way you get the sale.
