I just replaced mine. The chain on that shaft is loose. Is it supposed to be tight? If so how do you tighten it?

Nevermind I just found out it's the oils pump chain and it's supposed to be loose for anyone wondering.

i'm in the process of doing my starter clutch on a 2003 1100 and in the manual for lining up the TDC it says watch for the #2 on the gear to go behind the flwheel and line up. It never does no matter how many times i crank it over (probably 50 times!!) Mine did line up like yours with the two dots pointing to the crankshaft. Took the nut off with an impact gun was easy now when i use a harmonic balancer puller its turning the flywheel rotor off of my timing mark i used with a piece of wire and the flywheel wont come off. So did you get your bike running by using the two dots to line up TDC? Im afraid about messing up the timing and starting it up if i get this done

leroy anderson did you get it done? I'm fixing to tackle mine and the only part I'm worry about is popping the flywheel off. I've seen videos where guys say them springs go flying everywhere.

really cause there are springs behind the flywheel and they need to fit into the tabs for the drive
