Montana i think its the best. He was flawless in big games. 4-0 in the SB and 11 tds to 0 interceptions. 11-0. I think what people arent considering is Brady really caught the tail end of old fashion aggressive football. Whereas he played most of his time in the NFL where QB were being protected more and more allowing longevity
Nope. Back in Montana’s prime, the NFC championship was the Super Bowl. AFC didn’t win anything for 14 straight seasons from the raiders in 83 to the Broncos in 1997. Today, the conferences are evenly matched, there’s a free agency and a salary cap. That’s why Montana is 4-3 in the NFC championships and 4-0 in super bowls while Brady is 10-4 in the Championship game and 7-3 in super bowls.
I don't really buy this argument anymore. I witnessed both, and while Montana was great in the playoffs, he wasn't what Brady has become. There are a lot of guys who can say they were more talented or better at any one thing than Brady. But when you put everything together, all accomplishments, longevity, and winning, no one has had a better career than him. He's the greatest QB in NFL history by virtually every measurable metric.
@D E what im saying is the longevity is what allowed this to happen whereas logevity on the 80s wasnt going to happen. You were going to end up seriously injured as a qb. Montana is flawless in the superbowl. 4-0 w to loss and td - interception ration was 11-0. You often hear the winner will be the one who makes less mistakes. Hurts fumbles the ball and chiefs score 6. That was the game. Montana is flawless
@@caughtinthevoidfloyd5821 I get that argument, and it's a good reason you really can't compare eras. But it's fair to call Brady the greatest if we must name someone. He's not only the winningest QB in NFL history and went to and won the most SuperBowls, but he also has most of the records/statistics. There is no one with that collection of accomplishments. As Nick Wright has said, Brady has had 3 Hall of Fame careers. And he's redefined what we think of when talking about the greatest QBs. Everyone is compared to him now. So while Montana could be said to be the most clutch in the most significant moments, he didn't have the same all-around great career even in the limited time he played. Montana was a super efficient elite QB, but he never would be an all-time passing yards or TDs guy. Brady has done everything from gunslinger to game manager to clutch QB. I don't think anyone will ever accomplish the totality of what he's accomplished. At least not for the next 50 years or so.

Fair, but it's because there has never been a more accomplished player than Tom Brady in NFL history. He's like the Michael Jordan of football. It's not likely that anyone will ever win as much as him. It's incredible what he accomplished.
Tom Brady, in my strong opinion, is not "the" greatest football player of all time -- he's one of the greatest football players of all time, but not "the" greatest. Nevertheless, he's been apart of more winning teams than any other player in NFL history, but he wasn't the common factor on the majority of those teams that brought about those wins -- he had a phenomenal supporting cast around him, such as defense and coaches. Not to take anything away from what he's accomplished over his career or tenure in the NFL, but he wasn't athletically better at quarterback than Aaron Rogers, Peyton Manning, John Elway, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Steve Young, Ben Roethlisberger, just to name a few. Yet, his discipline is in the category of Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman, Joe Montana, just to name a few. Still, he's accomplished more wins, division championships, pre-super bowl championships, and super bowl championships than any other quarterback and/or player in NFL history. So, hats off to Tom Brady for what he's accomplished over the span of his career -- but he's still, to me, is not "the" greatest football player of all time 🤷. Sorry folks. By the way: this is not hate nor hater speech -- I'm just calling it how I see it 🤷.
That's precisely why he's the greatest. He was never considered the most talented. He was not handed the keys like those other guys you mentioned - he truly earned his legendary status. Tom Brady took advantage of every opportunity he was ever given. Being the greatest is about more than being the most talented, and I agree with your point that others were better in certain areas. But when you combine everything that goes into playing QB in the NFL, no one was able to put together as "great" of a career as him. So from a measurement standpoint, he's objectively achieved more than any other QB in NFL history. And from a winning standpoint, where the QB is the most important player on the field, he's consistently been part of more winning and championships than any other player in NFL history. He owns more Super Bowl rings than any single NFL team, and that much winning is more than just luck or circumstance.
No he won't...you're just s.o.l...and you won't get Rodgers either...it's hilarious how the 9etts fans are suddenly throwing Purdy under the bus...up until the Eagles knocked him out of the NFCCG...wasn't he you're super elite qb? that's just messed up...FLY EAGLES FLY !!!!
Agreed, it's why Brady's real secret to his greatness is his relationship and leadership skills. There have been countless guys more talented, but virtually no one with the combination of ability and intangibles like Brady.
I’m sorry Ms Joy Ms Beautiful but they changed a lot of Rules for this Dude. He won a Super Bowl without throwing a Touchdown against the Rams. Tom had a great career but the Greatest football player overall no way.

Not reading all that but I'm happy for you bro.
The spice melange....
In 2 months he’s a 49er
No he won't...you're just s.o.l...and you won't get Rodgers either...it's hilarious how the 9etts fans are suddenly throwing Purdy under the bus...up until the Eagles knocked him out of the NFCCG...wasn't he you're super elite qb? that's just messed up...FLY EAGLES FLY !!!!
@@richardeb8855 I’m not even a 49er fan 💀 lol but don’t worry mahomes will end ur fairytale season
Lol @ 49ers. They rejected Tom 3 yrs ago... Funny cuz u would have 3 more rings had he gone there!
A QB is only as good as the team around him
Agreed, it's why Brady's real secret to his greatness is his relationship and leadership skills. There have been countless guys more talented, but virtually no one with the combination of ability and intangibles like Brady.
liked it better with wiley
Oh as football sportscaster
I’m sorry Ms Joy Ms Beautiful but they changed a lot of Rules for this Dude. He won a Super Bowl without throwing a Touchdown against the Rams. Tom had a great career but the Greatest football player overall no way.
Simps for Joy! 😅
For the bring back Wiley people, Wiley couldn't give you current insight, I'll take McCoy at least for that.

That he was on everything & everyone by nevrr letting up on anything Beating
Everyone over the head who didn't complete their assignments & had messed up their route or made mistakes & joked around

And 💯 the truly best
McCoy needs to work on his trapezius muscles.
