"Most influential architect of the 20th and 21st centuries". He's a brilliant architect but nowhere near as influential as Frank Lloyd Wright or Le Corbusier in the 20th, His work in the 21st was valuable but not influential, certainly not compared to Gehry, Rogers, Koolhass, or Hadid, amongst others. Enjoyed Tom's report though.
Hadid was herself an admirer of Oscar...Oscar created revolutionary new designs, while Wright was lot more old school...maybe only Le Corbusier can be compared to him as an architect with really rolutionary design concepts...He was the only one Le Corbusier could agree to take over the united nation project, which was originally concept of Le Corbusier..it is a joke to even compare architects like Hadid with Oscar...Niemeyer was ahead of his time, he designed buildings in the 30's which today still looks damn modern...
@@gravitasgravitas Sorry, I meant he was one of the most influencial in 20th century (in 2012 he passed away being 104 years old, so I don't think you can't expect from him to do much works in 21 th cenutry, although he still designed some nice projects in 21 th century, but cuz of he was very weak and old so his peformance and passion wasn't the same as before, since in that age every movement is a challenge
Genius a man who loved and lived life to the full , and his buildings stand as a reminder of this great man
Genius architect, great human being.

@@aligatork what were his buildings of the 21st century that make him deserve the title "most influential architect of the 21st century"?
