I did a basics wardrobe this year using St John knits and Spanx. The great thing about St John is that their blacks all match perfectly. Once you have your basic pants and pencil skirts, you just collect jackets and tops. As for Spanx, no jeans look better on those of us with the menopause middle. I also like Talbots for tailored blazers and Breton tops. Thanks for this video.
I have a few St John Knits in basic black, but used to only wear them for special occasions. Thanks for reminding me! I need to go up stairs and dig them out of the over flow closet. Who know what else I might find. After all of the Covid weight gain who know what will still fit. Cheers

I have been putting your suggestions into action and have really shaped up my wardrobe. I went from working in a law firm to retired. You can imagine the revamping my wardrobe needed. Looking radiant today, Beth! Great list of basics. I love fall/winter layering - my favorite seasons for clothes. Love jackets. Although summer is a favorite season weather wise, I struggle finding flattering looks that keep you cool and comfortable. T shirt cuts are a staple and I like certain summer dresses that offer a lean silhouette. Always seeking options with a touch of class and ideas for the golf course that aren’t dated. I trust you will do an updated spring/summer wardrobe in the future and look forward to it!

I love classic styles like these that never go out of style. Always looks so polished. My issue is I can’t find shoes that look stylish that I can bare to wear for more than a minute. It’s a little easier in the summer as I can usually find a sandal, but even the sandals are not exactly what I want. I can’t wear flats, loafers, pumps sling backs, mules. I have tried everything nothing works. I have wide feet with low arches. Shoes are super uncomfortable.

Is it necessary to find what neutrals work best for my skin tone, hair color, and eye color. Or can I just get away with wearing any type of neutral color and incorporating these into my wardrobe.? I was also thinking of the popover top that you mentioned as an alternative to a traditional button down shirt. Even when I was very thin with a b-cup, shirts always gapped on me. I had to pin them shut. Now we can get double-sided wardrobe tape for that, but I just about gave up on button downs years and years ago.

I love blazers and used to wear them regularly until perimenopause hit and caused my arms to balloon. Now I can't find any that fit properly.
