    My favourite moment just has to be the Nick Davis kicking all 4 last quarter goals for the Swans comeback win in the Semi-Final where they would eventually go to win the flag that year after 72 years of absence.
    Not only that but to put them in front with a freak goal with literally nothing left on the clock is just absolutely insane. Without that there’s no Leo Barry mark, what a magical year of football

      A great defensive mark by Leo Barry, but as an eagles fan I have always been intrigued that everyone conveniently ignores the guy holding Ashley Sampi down in the marking contest - free kick missed there

      @@statchatsports well ud understand my pain (being a Richmond fan) during the match against north Melbourne where we were so close to winning with less than 20 seconds on the clock the scores are 87, 92 Richmond are one goal from winning the ball is kicked by a right side angle goes into the goal but hits the post the scores are 88, 92 north Melbourne win by 4 points

    The most electrifying and amazing sport in the world. PS I’m a Yankee who has watched the AFL since I was nine years old when it would air on ESPN at 4ish or 5ish in the morning.

      Well, start preaching to your fellow Americans.
      I'm a Collingwood Magpies barracker.
      The difference between a supporter and a barracker is a supporter will buy memberships and got to the games.
      As a barracker I sit in the pub and footy on the TV.
      Not a big fan of crowds and the MCG is a very daunting place to be when you get sensory overload.
      Biggest crowd I ever went to was an ANZAC day match and it was a draw 😮
      Anyway, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
      P.S. Mason Cox and his interaction skills with the fans is unbelievable.

      @@statchatsports I can even remember the first game I had seen. Footscray and Fitzroy Round 4 1991. Doggies win by less than three goals. 15.16.106 for the Bulldogs and 12.18.90 for the Lions.

      IMO the sheed goal still west coast could of clutched without it but I think that maynard was def held allowing sheed to take the easy mark and took around 3 steps after the mark

    For me Collingwood winning the replay after the draw, the onpy Premiership I've seen in my lifetime (I've seen 5 Grand Final losses). But after that, I'd have to say either Buddy kicking his 1000th goal, Dogs breaking their drought or Sydney breaking their Drought. (Plus WCE vs Sydney in back to back grand finals, both were absolute classic matches).

    I love this game grew up watching South Adelaide in SANFL. Went to some of the greatest State of Origin. Nothing beats AFL nothing

    Whoever gave james brayshaw a job must have been caught by him in an uncompromising situation/blackmailed..
    As a commentator he is utterly woeful.
    Beyond that, Dom Sheed in 2018 kicking the goal to smoke the wobblers has to take the cake in the greatest moments of AFL history.

    Dom Sheed's goal from the boundary easy due to that ridiculous degree of difficulty tied with Buddy's 1000th goal and a close third Hirdy's kick before the siren with levels all tied!. They have to be my picks of some of the most iconic moments of all time.

    I’ve always wondered why we need television commentators - they either make inane comments “it’s a main event in any stadium in the world”. What the hell does that mean? Or they state the obvious “he picks up the ball and kicks it “. Well I KNOW that because I’m watching it on a screen.!

    As a 2000s Hawthorn supporter it’s always going to be the 2008 Granny, the 3-Peat, Buddy’s 100th goal in a season and Buddy’s 1000th (was there for it too!)
    Had to skip the intro tho, 2012 was shit 😖

    Buddy kicking a 1000. Get me a Kleenex. I just watched, with dismay, a whole bunch of AFL videos with commentators on the telecast and those on the TH-cam channel laughing and making all kinds of excuses at incidents where players have wound up on a stretcher or in hospital or worse after being hit with a "bump", the biggest conniving rationalization of excused thuggery in sport anywhere. That's not why we love sport. Examples like Buddy's achievements are.
