Archives of the Impossible conference | Welcome and Opening Remarks: Jeffrey J. Kripal

Jeffrey J. Kripal, associate dean of the School of Humanities at Rice University, the J. Newton Rayzor Professor of Philosophy and Religious Thought, and organizer of "Archives of the Impossible: Transnationalism, Transdisciplinarity, Transcendence,” kicked off the international conference on May 11, 2023 with a talk titled "A Higher Higher Education."
Sponsored by the Department of Religion, Chao Center for Asian Studies and Department of Transnational Asian Studies in the School of Humanities, the Woodson Research Center in Fondren Library and the Esalen Institute, the May 11-13, 2023 conference at Rice University featured speakers and panelists who set out to demystify the paranormal through their research and experiences regarding metaphysics, UFOs and much more.
