I thought the front collision braking was going to be a deal breaker (for example, when following close on a mountain pass), but luckily BMW allowed us turn it off permanently. I fell in love with the R1250GS, glad to see the universal consensus is that the 1300 is a superior bike.
Hello, guy from germany here. In germany the R1300GS already runs 146 mph stock. If there is really a 20 hp gain, shouldn’t it rev higher in 6. gear? Like to the rev limiter or at least to 160 mph? I have never heard of a company putting shorter stacks on the boxer engine… even not from very capable BMW Motorrad tuners like RS2e. But if this really brings what it is proclaimed, stage 2 would be really nice to have! Maybe even better with the DNA Stage 2 intake system.
You know what got upgraded also? the price, 25k EURs for a Bike, BMW is not for me anymore, the Honda NT 1100 will have to do the job for 15.3K EURs, less 10k. Good luck for who can afford it, spite, even if I had the money I don't think I will buy it, can do a lot with 10K.
"Especially for under $19,000 dollars" - ha you kill me! Mine was over $30k OTD without panniers! Try finding one actually for sale remotely close to $19k!

But that's technically a disingenuous statement, given that it excludes BMW's Fed-mandated Destination and Handling charges, which brings the minimum cost up to $19,590 even before local county taxes are applied (7% in my case), plus any PDI, Admin and general OTD costs. So good luck anybody getting a light white with absolutely no packages or accessories fitted to it for less than $21k OTD, which is a lot more than "under $19,000". But as we also know, realistically - we're talking $25-30k for the bikes that you can actually physically buy at dealers right now.
@@RichDunn He was referring to the bike handling and power. You can absolutely order This bike for $19,000, and it will have the same power and handling, without the bells and whistles that you and I can't live without
You're supposed to keep the throttle open (even just a bit) when upshifting, that will solve your clunkiness, and to downshift you do it with the throttle completely closed.
This guy doesn't understand how to use a quickshifter. Man, it's a touring machine not a super sporty m1000rr. The quickshifter can work much smoother than presented in the video but somebody must teach you that first.
I think the problem is with the quickshifter on these motorcycles that have a plastic shift lever. I have an r1300gs and I have an aluminum shift lever and the quickshiftr works flawlessly.

troy what you're feeling on the kickstand assist is not a motor on the kickstand. it's actually the suspension coming up and assisting you to lift the bike. a common misnomer. still waiting on the handheld for mine. definitely going to flash my 1300 ...thanks

When is there going to be a handheld option for resetting when taking in for service ? Still have my s1000r handheld but don’t wanna get rid of it.
So I notice the 60 to 130 was actually 40 to 130 both times. Did the time start when you hit 60 or did it start at 40 when you full throttled it?
The GPS automatically starts at 60 and finishes at 130, regardless of when the bike starts and stops the pull.

I believe he said "it starts" under $19,000 which is true. That's not a model you and I would want, I paid over 26,000 for mine...

Unfortunately you are not a skilled or experienced rider. Take some time to learn your craft.
Question on the Z H2 tune. Does it eliminate the lunging when using the quick shifter to down shift? It seems to lunge forward when I down shift.
Our tuning smoothes it out quite a bit

You used Dynamic Pro on the stock 60-130 and Race Mode on post-tune 60-130 … not apples to apples … but still loved it!!!
There is no race pro on the 1300. Just dynamic pro and we did the same dynamic pro in before and after in the video.

We tell all customers to refer to the manufacturer recommended break in for every bike

Same stretch of road for before and after testing and stock couldn’t come close to flashed with stacks for top speed.
