I would love to see some kind of guide about the most efficient combo for each monster during wyvern ride. Normally it just boils down to spamming A or Back+A and cancelling the animation with B, but some monsters have multi-hit attacks or even combos that make them harder to compare.
For the most part the Mash A and animation cancel is the best method. There's a couple monsters that have different attacks or attack power depending on their state when you mount them. If you mount Rajang when he's fully powered up, his beams do significantly more damage. Valstrax, if you mount him when his wings are red, you can shoot his giant chaos beam, otherwise you just get the jet dive. Tigrex, for his Down+A, do the spin then cancel, don't do the roar unless it's your final attack before punisher. The biggest thing is making sure you get your stagger out before the monster staggers you. Some Elder dragons can take 1 hit stagger free and interrupt you. There really isn't much finesse to wyvern riding though. A face roll on the controller will suffice in just about every scenario. The direction the monster is facing when you try to launch your ride into another monster to transfer does matter though. If your attack leaves you facing towards the wall and not the monster, beep beep here comes the wall.
@@BlackBeltGamers88 you also have to take blights and status into consideration. Most monsters have the ability to inflict at least one of them, and I'd say it's generally worth it to sacrifice 1 or 2 of the strong attacks to get a quick poison or fireblight.

"They" is also used as an agender pronoun that describes a singular person. A lot of non-binary people prefer they over "He", "She", or "It". In this case, Vycery is female (as far as I know), so "she" would have been more appropriate. However, "they" is not technically incorrect since it doesn't have any connotations about gender. "He" is just plain wrong, and "it" is rarely used since it objectifies and dehumanizes people. The more you know.

The thing I love the most about Wyvern Riding is that you make the monster you're NOT riding drop materials, probably more than you'd get by just carving. It makes farming for large quantities of a monster's common materials so much easier. Also, the Puppet Spider's method of making a monster ride-able isn't quite what the video states. When placed on the ground, it shoots some webbing that makes the monster instantly enter a Ride-able state if it hits.
I was curious to see how a hunt would go if skills were focused towards riding, but never invested the legwork to actually try it. Thanks for the Showcase and congratz on gaining a subscriber!

Interesting... I always felt like riding was cool conceptually but pretty underwhelming in terms of damage done. It's still worth because of parts breaking but otherwise I didn't care too much for it. It's so cool that you managed to find a build to make it work so good!
It’s funny, I already knew all the methods and the skills needed to extend the move damage and the other factors too, What I didn’t know was the time between each ride so thank you for explaining that. Whenever I go on a hunt I always go get as many rides as possible at the same time hunting the main monster!
Rather than being broken, I feel like this is another intended playstyle for hunter to build and execute. There are some obvious limitations to this build but it is a viable one nonetheless. And it does certainly seem a stronger build than the companion one.
9 minutes, i don't think this is broken at all. i think it's great to have that as a viable option. especially when skilled hunters can clear with weapons under that time.
You can also use a Stinkmink on yourself to lure a monster towards another. If you stinkmink, the monster will chase you even past the fight zone until it either meets another monster or the stinkmink wears off.
You'd be trading the ability to mount Magnamalo and kill Teostra after the 5 min cooldown for 2k damage and having to wait another 5 minutes or find a second puppet spider. For this strategy specifically, it'd be detrimental.
This isn't broken. I'd venture to say that most players can't easily accomplish what you did here, as you'll gather from most of the comments about constantly wirebugging through the air, and then mounting both Rajang and Magnamalo with only a few well-placed hits... TDS eats, sleeps, and breathes Monster Hunter, so it's to be expected. Just give yourselves a pat on the back, and let the rest of us appreciate the skills of players who have invested tens of thousands of hours in the series.
When ever I come to Team Darkside Channel I always though "hmm what ever crazy videos are these guys going to make" and they never disappoints XD hahaha
Yes and no. A monster's health has a bit of randomness to it, but it is unrelated to your weapon. First, a monster has a base HP which is common for all monsters. Than, that base HP is modified by a multiplier depending on whether it is encountered in a village, LR Hub, or HR Hub settings. That's not all, there are some other parameters : basically, all what influences it then are the following : the exact * number of the quest, how many targets there are for this quest, the number of players, whether or not a player has eaten the food skill "felyne weakener", and finally a tinge of randomness added each time you start a quest. For a Teostra in the "Emperor of Flame" quest with 1 hunter, its health can go from a tad less than 17k to almost 20k. So with the teostra in the video having between 17352 and 17520 HP, it's truly on the low side, but the difference isn't enormous.
Iceborne : How SavageJho complete the quest for me. Rise : How I use Rajang/Magnamalo to complete the quest for me. Tsujimoto lied. They DID made the 15th weapon after all.
I dont understand why that mechanic was necessary tbh, it just feels weird and i dont like it as well as other aspects of the game, looking forward to the game after rise
I dont think you of all people can call anything in a monster hunter game broken when you kill elder dragons in less than 5 minutes solo regularly, I'm just sayin
Remember though, this is basically with every single riding buff possible, in a zone with a special extra damage area if you slam a monster into it (only other one with something similar is Sandy Plains), and the two best rides in the game, bar none NOT being the quest target (making them easier to mount, not to mention the RNG needed to get those two as your starting "extra monsters"). And it's STILL slower than even the slowest record weapon speedrun. This is a showcase in ideal conditions, and will not be easily repeated in a normal hunt.
Except they didn't break the game, and Capcom put this in the game to use. You literally created a build around this...the same way you would create a build around another way to play. You can also just run a normal build and kill Teostra quicker. I don't see a problem with this.
Actually this does kinda break the game for an average player. Not everyone can kill a Teostra in sub 7 minutes or less. For an average player, it takes them around 12-15 minutes to kill Teostra solo. Now if you're a speedrunner or skilled enough to kill Teostra in 6 minutes or less, then yeah this is useless to you. But for an average player, this is gold.
@@bang2goeezy496 That is under the assumption that the player can do those sub 10 minutes run consistently. Think of it in this way: If your average hunt for Teostra is 10-11 minutes, wyvern riding is faster. This best thing about this is very easy to do and replicate. There no skill involved in this at all. It's just Wyvern Riding. Another great thing about this is this does not use any speedrun buffs whatsoever. No Might Seeds, Demon Powders, etc etc. The only thing that stops from being truly consistent is how often does the game give you Rajang and Magnamalo at the start of the Teostra hunt. Which from my experience is pretty often.
This is good. no complaints nor should there be. let people have fun. That said I think some insanely powerful monsters shouldn't be rideable, but in exchange should be mountable old style like in World.

Whenever I go on a hunt I always go get as many rides as possible at the same time hunting the main monster!
I have just been forgetting, I'm finally subbed thank yall for the content:)
ライズの動画色々みて来たけど、操竜乗り方によってクールタイムが変わってくるのは知らんかった...

i recognized the blackops music from kowloon-rooftops immediately from the vocals at the start, gives me nostalgia pog
Rather than being broken, I feel like this is another intended playstyle for hunter to build and execute. There are some obvious limitations to this build but it is a viable one nonetheless. And it does certainly seem a stronger build than the companion one.
yes, I can see this build being used well in rampage quests
The transition of the 20% to 20% subscribed got me good. I'll sub
9 minutes, i don't think this is broken at all. i think it's great to have that as a viable option. especially when skilled hunters can clear with weapons under that time.
“So what weapon do you main?”
“You ever seen Zoids?”
Lol what a throwback with that reference! Now with Zoids Wild, it's more like it 🤣
@@ferchio4801 Right! This is pretty much just Zoids Wild!! 🤣🤣

You actually counted the 1 damage from the puppet spider, GOATED.
You can also use a Stinkmink on yourself to lure a monster towards another. If you stinkmink, the monster will chase you even past the fight zone until it either meets another monster or the stinkmink wears off.
*'Samir, you're breaking the game!'*
haha, rally car reference
You could hit the blue waterfall when mounting theostra for more extra 2k damage
Yeah most people forget about the volcano water and lava walls lol
You'd be trading the ability to mount Magnamalo and kill Teostra after the 5 min cooldown for 2k damage and having to wait another 5 minutes or find a second puppet spider.
For this strategy specifically, it'd be detrimental.
At first I read that as "How Wyverians can break the game" which prompted the though of Rajang and Wyverians having the same common ancestor
Welllllll this is actually pretty easy to pull off and I'm not a professional just takes closer to 10 minutes for me
Yeah it's doable. :) just takes a bit of lactose.
This is really easy, so yeah Its fucking Broken.
When ever I come to Team Darkside Channel I always though "hmm what ever crazy videos are these guys going to make" and they never disappoints XD hahaha
teo def has more health than that when Im using a LS for sure

Team darkside I love you guys for using the Black Ops 2 soundtrack for this video

3:30 what about Turfwars?
I dont understand why that mechanic was necessary tbh, it just feels weird and i dont like it as well as other aspects of the game, looking forward to the game after rise
I really hope this mechanic is born and dies in MH Rise
@@vitorhugo9800 agreed
ok.. I'm still waiting for the pc release and stumble upon this.. I am crylaughing rn
Next on monster hunter.

GDI. Nice tie in to the subscriber count. Subscribed.
I dont think you of all people can call anything in a monster hunter game broken when you kill elder dragons in less than 5 minutes solo regularly, I'm just sayin
I've just started Monster Hunter Rise recently, so it was really helpful! thank you! Of course, I'm a brother who subscribed to the channel!
I cant wait until PC modders give us infinite wyvern rides
操竜が強いのもあるけど、それを使いこなせるここの人たちがもう流石ですわ
Can break the game? It's the most broken mechanic in the game 😅
try "the series"
@@bufosp nah clutch claw was way more broken
Clutches the head only to be placed on the wing
It's not broken. You can kill monsters faster without it.
Any new thing they put in the gameplay.
Every MonHun channel: HOW X COULD RUIN/BREAK MONSTER HUNTER
I know right
Except they didn't break the game, and Capcom put this in the game to use.
@@Nineball757 not really. An average pro player with good build can kill two in sub 10.
