As far as I know Xerox introduced the flash drive method with the 75 series. The 74 series is more involved, and involves downloading the new firmware to a laptop and then plugging that laptop into the printer and using Xerox's firmware upgrade software.
The machine should display a four digit error code. Hold down the Machine Status button if you don’t see it. We need that code to understand the problem.

Sachdeva Gifts how are the hinges on the back of the ADF? There are little plastic feet On the very left side of the scan area when you lift up the ADF. These should meet the glass when the ADF is closed. There is a Hex screw to adjust the height of the ADF on the left hinge behind the ADF.
Koen Theuwissen I’m not sure that will help. Did you recently replace the black ink? Do you have the old cartridge? Could you try swapping that back in?
Niraj Peshwe it is probably one of two switches. One switch tells the machine how much paper is in the tray, the other whether the tray is closed. Look around for these two and see if they are bent.

jai Hind I believe that model actually has two scanners it uses when you do double sided copies. It has a single pass document feeder (ADF). Does it do the same when you print to it from a computer or from the flash drive? It is probably the scanner in the document feeder rather than the one under the glass.
I run Igens 4 and 5 million plus clicks a month but it always goes down. I do replace and maintain the grids, wirings, fuser rolls, and belts etc. Is it the brand and I used to run Indigo but I'm not having similar problems it's only quality issues any thoughts?? thanks.
I have a WorkCentre 5775 and it seems the cylinder gets like dusty by toner son when I make copies a dark shadows comes along, I try to clean the cylinder but is there a part that I need to clean or a bottle that needs to be empty? I empty the waste bottle already but inside the of copier it that exists something else that needs to be either empty or clean? Thank you

Vijayalakshmi S are all the pages blank or does it just print blank pages sometimes? Check the cortron wires under the drum (imaging unit) and see if they are broken.
And Can you please explain how to increase the darkness of the print by default? We know how to increase the darkness using image quality option. Can we set it as increased be default?

I am not sure I understand the problem. It sounds like it might just need to be reset. Turn the machine off and unplug it for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and power it back on.
I have a Xerox 5135 that is having print quality issues. A mark is being made across almost all sheets that are printed, and splotches of ink sometimes occur, mostly in or near this path. I have done some research and believe that it may be a roller issue. Is that something you can help with or maybe something that you can help me diagnose?

aaronbcollins2 It is a smudge on the paper, almost every sheet, that is pretty light. It is sometimes accompanied by dark blotches or “ink spitting” onto the paper in that same general area. I can provide a photo if you like...

I dont remember now but when i press the copy button ,scan the paper but when its time to take the papper and print it stop and right in the screen problem with the printer machine!!!! I have put a cable to hold the dublex port open and i light a maglight and see that the black drum.that ia more soft rolls but i cant see the other one!! Is there a chance to be a problem with the paper feeder???
Anthimos Aggelidis u3 sounds like a fuser code. When you turn the machine on, do you see a light coming on in the fuser? I had to look up how to clear the u2 code. According to: www.fixya.com/support/t15195851-xerox_wc_5020_error_cod_u2, “Clear key - Interrupt key - "0" key - Interrupt key - 16 - Start key - Start key. The unit should reset.”
That isn't one we've seen before. It sounds like some kind of trouble with the image processor board, which is basically the small PC board that is built into these printers. It will have memory sticks and a hard drive in it. I would make sure the memory is seated well and all the cables are plugged in well.

When you are deciding which machine to get, make sure to investigate whether service and parts are easily obtained locally before you make a purchase. All printers eventually break and require maintenance. You don’t want to be stuck with a machine that you can’t get serviced at a reasonable cost.

This could be one or more defective toner cartridges. Are you able to swap out the cartridges to see if that resolves the issue?

That sounds like defective print cartridges. Do you have other print cartridges that you could try?

Sounds like you have a bad drum . Try replacing the drum cartridge

I'd have to know more detail. It could be a problem with worn or dirty rollers. Have you tried cleaning the rollers you can see?
