2:59 is the best performance of Glenn Stone as Norma Desmond. Her senile laugh while enjoying the warmth of spotlight she has been longing for along time is charming. Love her.
This is fucking amazing. It's absolutely mind blowing how her acting talents keep getting better the last time I saw her perform. My god she's amazinnnnngggggggglllyyyy perfeccctttt jfc
I think its supposed to just be completely gaudy. She's clearly like thrown together everything she has in her wardrobe to film the scene and impress everyone with how much of a star she thinks she is. But she's also completely snapped, her ability to even recognize what she's done is gone- so I'm not surprised she can't put together a good costume 😂
She couldn't sing the role the first time around. Why, when she's clearly 20 years too old for the role now at nearly 70 and they say right in the script Norma is 50.... would she sign on to a role she knows she's no longer right for? Every actor knows their limits, and this was just an embarrassment.
Her age is unimportant. Norma Desmond can be anywhere from 50 to 80. She's demented, she's living in the far and distant past. Miss Close knows this and so does Mr. Webber. Miss Close is ageless and it was imperative that she put this performance on film as an immortal symbol to her great artistry. Her instincts are as sharp as ever.

I love her but that 'meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' was terrible.
adam4757 well she is old and her voice is not strong. But her acting is the greatest of them all
It isn't a "meeeee". She says clearly "meeeeee yeeeees".
I guess in her defense, an E vowel is hard to sing
She started it really good tho!
I think it's supposed to be strained since she's at the end of her rope. If it's too perfect of a note, it doesn't sound as haunting
George W. Bush in drag?

You don't know nothing about acting. Fuck off.
Fuck off.
