Tata Mercedes Benz| 51+ years old India's Oldest Running Bus| Full Journey from Memari to Bitra|

Hello Friends and welcome back to my channel with another new video. Although this video was shot in 2019, but I guess some memories are like Wine. It just gets better with time. So decided to upload this video, although it might seem dated.
HISTORY OF TATA MERCEDES BENZ :
In entering the commercial vehicle business, TATA gave itself a head-start. Its commercial vehicle manufacturing activities began in 1954 in a collaboration with Daimler-Benz AG, on the back of a 15-year collaborative agreement for the production in India of Mercedes-Benz-designed, bonneted, medium trucks. Meanwhile, along with the truck segment, TATA also started introducing TATA Mercedes Benz buses. The Models were known as 312, and had quite a few variants. In the later years, TATA (Then Known as TELCO) also introduced buses like 1210, 1510, 1510c (Collaboration with Cummins) and so on. The buses, which had a signature wooden and tin / bronze body were a common sight in Bengal (And also Assam). But after the Ban of 15 Years Old Commercial Vehicles came into force, almost all of them faced the cutter's torch.
But thankfully, in the interior and rural parts of Bengal, a few managed to survive, where the rule is still pretty lenient. So on Christmas of 2019, me along with my friends ‪@SaptarshiDutta‬ and ‪@MrCheersbagha‬ decided to go hunting for this 51+ Years old TATA Mercedes Benz 312 bus, which runs on the route Memari to Bitra. So accordingly, we took the Diesel Locomotive hauled Howrah - Rajgir Passenger till Memari with absolutely no certainty over the availability of the bus. We neither had the schedule of the bus, nor we had any idea whether the bus was running/ garaged or running as Reserved. But as luck would have it, we were lucky enough to spot the bus, and also had the luxury to ride it end to end. It was like a Dream come True!!!
So on this video, we will take you on a ride on this Oldie through the twisted Country roads. I am sure you will enjoy the ride as much as we did.

এই বাস এ চাপার একটা আলাদা মজা,সেটা ঠিক বলে বোঝানো যাবে না,সুখ সুবিধা মডার্ন বাসের মতো নয় তবুও একটা আলাদা মজা পেতাম এতে চেপে,তখন ড্রাইভার দের মনে হতো ওরা কিং,আমার মনে এখনও কিছু ড্রাইভার দের ছবি মনের মধ্যে আছে,তার মধ্যে একজন দীঘা সিউড়ি বাসের ড্রাইভার, ডান হাতে ঘড়ি পরে রাজার মতো বসে গাড়ী চালানো,আর একজন কে মনে পড়ে, হাওড়া দীঘা বাসের এক ড্রাইভার,অত বড়ো বাস একদম কার ড্রাইভ করার মতো,ভিডিও টি খুব ভালো লাগলো,ড্রাইভার দের আমার মনে হয় সত্যিই ওরা রোডের রাজা।

Capital of Sirajuddaula Bengal to nonexistent Kolkata before establishment of Kolkata, siraj came through this road to attack English.

Splendid blended with serene country side roads. This chassis has been manufactured at tata engineering jamshedpur. Wanted to know how was the riding comfort level of the bus with the good roads

Thanks a lot for the comment. The ride quality was pretty poor as expected. Reason being the seats were dated and battered. But the overall structure of the bus was still strong with very less vibration.
