Thank you! So sick of people judging me for making the decision NOT to fix my male corgi. Even switched vets because they were so rude and ignorant of my decision, and obviously didn't respect or trust me as an owner.

Thank you so much Dr. Becker...you make so much sense and you're SO informative. I was crying along with you. I wish you could be my babies vet. My 79 year old dad has been searching for a vet that will only do tubal ligation, to no avail as of now unfortunately. Thank you for teaching us. I have been postponing spaying my girls just because "it didn't feel right to" and I'm SO glad I didn't.

Absolutely brilliant video, i wish there was more people like you in the world, as I know it would then be a much more better place to live in for animal loving owners. Thank You for admitting your faults but looking to help the future of all pets.

I never liked the idea of spaying/neutering young puppies or kittens, especially before puberty. I have always kept intact animals and have NEVER had an accidental pregnancy. (and I am in the US) Thanks for the video. :)

Thank you so much for this information. We have a young German Shepherd and we were planning on waiting until he was at least 2 before neutering to help him keep healthy hip joints. Now we will keep him intact his whole life, hopefully.

Thank you for making this video Dr. Becker.
I have been researching this for so long, and it often feels like I am banging my head against a wall. I have lost track of the amount of times I have had to tell people that spay/neuter & responsibility are not synonymous.
S/n does not a responsible pet owner make, & you can be completely responsible & own intact pets.
I agree with everything you said, & it's great to hear it coming from a Vet, as I am not, I'm just someone who cares & learns.

They get along great and yes we do have the occasional querrel but so do the humans in my family and we do not desex them! I constantly get looked down on and lectured by other dog owners and am kind of tired of it.

I first want to thank you for speaking about the negative side affects of spay/neuter. However, some of your behavior comments and how they can be a "solved" left me shuttering. For example, aggression is most often related to fear, spaying and neutering can actually make fear based aggression worse. Behavior is also negatively affected by spay/neuter. Most "behavior issues" are normal behaviors for dogs that need modification through positive style training, not surgery.

Thank you so much for this information, Dr. Becker. I was touched by your admission of having been brainwashed -- just like the rest of us!
I have an intact 16MO Golden Retriever. He is going to stay that way unless I can find an alternative to castration. He is part of the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study.
I lost my last (intact) Golden in May of 2012 - just shy of 8YO - to lung mets from hemangiosarcoma of the spleen.
