I was 16 when his first album was released here in Canada, and some friend that worked at London records, gave me a copy.. So that is when i discovered this marvelous singer, and so very handsome..! I am now 73, and he still is my #1 singer of all times..I listen to my playlist of ALL his songs almost every day....!! Love you Engelbert, and you still sound great ! ❤❤❤

I remember driving between Johannesburg and Cape Town in 1971 and listening to Engelbert on an 8 track cassette ( who remembers that) a 14 hour journey with Engelbert for company, when those in the car with me were asleep. What good memories. Nearly fifty years ago one of the girls with me was my wife, the one and only love I’m still in love with her and still married to her.

I am reading Enge's book and I have to say this song says a lot about the games some play. Thank GOD Enge is the wonderful loving and kind man he is. He went through some very hard times but he knew what he wanted to do so he did all necessary to get where he is today. We are so very lucky to have such a gentleman who is determined to get what he wants and he went after it! Look how he has turned out! He is so full of love and so handsome too! His father was called Mervyn Albert Mathias Dorsey and his mother was Olive Jeanette Maria Webber (so of German descent), so as you can see, zero Indian blood. I do think his mother's family was established there since the colonial years, but she wasn't Indian either. Unfortunately English (and most white) people back in the day were very class-discriminatory, elitist and racist so there's no wonder they didn't want Indian blood in their families.

And he has given us to savour so many beautiful songs he had recorded and performed. L- O - V - E, the magical word however will never fade even until the end of time.
