I live about 10 minutes from this garden center. It opened a year ago and it quickly became my (almost) weekly excursion favorite. Not only for buying, but also because of the relaxing and easy going feel of the place for just wandering around. Besides having this houseplant selection they also have a great outside garden plant section. Living in the west of the Netherlands there's actually a good choice of garden centers and nurseries, so maybe that explains the competitive prices a bit. I haven't been for quite a while because of lockdown, but now they're slowly reopening again and I'm sure I'll be visiting sometime next week. Really looking forward to it.
My husband and I are saving up for the Floriade 2022 in Almere. Super excited! My dad was there during Floriade 1992 and I've always wanted to go. It will be a nice treat for my 40th birthday. Still deciding whether to get an all inclusive tour or just figure it out ourselves on our own. Scotland is still in lockdown. Can wait for the garden centres to open up.
Those prices are so amazing! It's crazy to see how different prices are compared to where you are located (I'm here in US). That's a gorgeous plant shop. Wish there were more here like that
These are some of my FAVORITE VIDEOS YOU MAKE!!! I LOVE SHOP TOURS!!! AMAZING! Thank you for posting! Do a Growth Update Videos!!! I love your videos !
Thank you Roos. I am in such envy of this plant shop. Everything is so beautiful. We are hopeful ours may open at the end of the month just on Saturday’s for now.
Oh wow that is insane, as I watch your video so far most of these beautiful plants are on my wishlist😍 and the prices are great!thank you for sharing😁🪴
I fell in love yesterday...... with a plant ....the Calathea White Fusion, but when I saw her price I completely forgot to ask her number 😂😂 Maybe next time. Nice video again Roos.
The frustrating thing is I don't understand why there isn't shops like this here in Denmark, because whenever an online plantshop has rare plants on sale, they fly off the shelves. So there's clearly a market for it, and Holland is close enough for good shipping conditions. It's weird.
@@ThisIsMyFullName I really don't know and the few online shops that has rare plants are so expensive that Etsy almost is cheaper and that is sometimes a total rip-off🤔
Can't wait for Belgium to open the borders again, so I can plan a shopping trip. I will take me a whole day from where I live, but it will be totally worth it.
most therapeutic and relaxing time... thank you for creating that space, Lovely! and I like the mottled variegation more on the monsteras ;) also, how do I go about immigrating there?? hehehe
This nursery is a dream!!! It’s very lovely and the prices are so incredibly cheap compared to where I live (Houston, TX, USA). The plants look so healthy and plump 🌱. This is a wonderful video and I truly enjoyed it 💚. 👋🏽 to your kitties 🥰
24:22 is in fact a tamaya :) and omg, as an Australian (especially in Tasmania where supply is difficult), those prices are just DANGEROUS! I'd walk away with so much hahaha
Amazing to see the range in variegation in the Monstera. Some throwing out almost consistent halfmoons or big sectoral chunks and other tending towards speckled variegation
Great prices, our prices are coming down in the USA. People are finding albo Monstera in big box stores for $15. One nursery sold silver sword for $70 and had to only allow one per customer.
Wait what? You mean sport variegated monstera? Or actual variegated ones sold as that for 15? Thanks for sharing, very interesting! Oh and yeah some garden centers here do that too now, only allowing one per person to prevent flipping (it happened a lot)
@@plantwithroos I don’t know the difference between sport variegated and any other variegated Monstera. They were all grown from plain Monstera seed, but some are variegated
Heerlijk, zo'n uitgebreide video! Ik ben zelf denk ik meer van de gestippelde variegation, maar dat komt vooral doordat ik hier vrij karig licht heb waar erg witte planten niet gelukkig van worden.
Its lovely to see the great selection of plants where you are, i used to come over on and buy one or two to take home as in UK not as many good houseplant here, sadly i don't think i can now as probably get confiscated at customs now. Thank you for sharing.
Even when taking them across the border yourself? I hope not! I'm planning a visit to the UK this or next year and i'd want to bring some plants back (and on the way there for friends)
I think i prefer the thai constellations because they have a bit of both styles of variegation and i just love the speckles and mottled/marbled look but with the rare spot of sectoral.
Tamaya is the way the growers grow Begonia albo picta not the name of begonia itself. Check the article on the Steaves leaves about tamaya. Tamaya is the way to grow begonia, on a tree like stem with cascading leaves and flowers on a top of it.
How? I've been looking for a Hoya polyneura for ages, here in Austria there's absolutely no chance of getting one. It's been my no. 1 wishlist plant for years now. And the worst part is, I have to go on a business trip to the Netherlands in April and probably won't be able to pick one up then because I'm flying in early in the morning, work all day and leave in the same evening again. So no time for plant shopping 😞 That garden center is just amazing!
So happy that our country is being very acceptable with pricing “rare” plants. The incredible gap between some US prices versus these is unbelievable. Love how the high demand plants are getting more readily available! Too bad I don’t live anywhere near the west side of the Netherlands. It will take me over 2 hours to get to Bosrand or GlobalGarden :(
I feel that, my parents live 2,5 hours away so when we visit we always stay one night. Maybe make a trip of it coming here? Hotel, walk on the beach, visit garden centers? But al over the country are good ones too, like in Venlo and Zwolle for example
Are the variegated pileas (like Mojito) still a thing in the Netherlands, because I never see them in the videos. I mean, are they sold in de Bosrand? :)
ive seen them come by a few time, mostly at global garden. I think they're becoming more easily available slowly! (but im not really into them so I dont know for sure
