Bad luck I guess. The better hooks came later in the night. Ideally you want tractors to come in and bust up the track a bit. But with one tractor class, they sandwiched it in the middle.
So here is the deal with truck and tractor pulling, they don't want to dig, they want to lightly skip over the top of the track and as fast as possible without piling up the dirt in front of the buck board of the sled. I have seen a few piles of dirt that equaled to several thousand pounds of dirt. That is extra weight you are dragging with the sled. It is a fine line these pullers walk.
We run them every other week or so. We are coming up with rules for this class: stay in bounds, multiple pop ups, style points, etc. It is a hit in our area!
This is an exhibition. They get paid to come and run a few times. They keep extra drive shafts in the truck to give the fans a good show. We have had 2 to 4 at any given pull. We are working on rules and maybe even a pay to ride thing. Check out a poll I did recently and let me know if it is worth it to you.
Yeah, it was sprinkling most of the night. I was under an umbrella. If you see me with one, don't freak out. A little wet ain't going to wreck your world if it gets on your cell phone. In my case, It would pause everything we have worked so hard for. WW
Sled needs to be set according to the best pullers for each class. Problem is the best hooks happen later in the class as pullers can watch and see whats going on. Not fair to make the best pullers go first. Then you get several resets or too light a sled if you go off a pullers whose vehicle isn't dialed in. It is a guessing game.

That damn swerving don't do a damn thing for pulls unless its to stop going from left to right or vice versa. Damn
Some of these trucks have 3 elbows on them too. Not great for control.
Either that's a rough track, or those guys are a few cards from a full deck swerving all over the place!
Tires and power does the whole thing.
at 3.30 the Dodge was spinning the rims inside the tires on the rear . time to get some bead locks or sheet metal screws.

I'm guessing the mega trucks were doing some exhibition runs?

They have to keep the rpm's up to get the job done. Look at the Dodge, they do that.
Never saw wheels smoking IN the tires before...what a goopy mess!!
They spin fast enough they will do that! Seen it several times a year.
Real beadlocks would be the ticket.
