    Thankyou so.much for your tips.....i find im a bit hasty while doing a resin piece. I have a feeling thats whats going wrong. I start pouring the colours in stripes but before i know it im already tackling it with a heat gun or sticking a swirling tool in it. Is that what makes my colours all.muddy and messed up. So advice what to do as soon as ive poured the resin. Do i wait 5 to 10 min before acting. Is it something others have a problem with as well?

    Hi! Have you tried making ashtrays? How do you fix when one side got damaged? Do you fix all the sides or just that one damaged side? I tried painting the damaged side with resin but it pours to the other side and it just never ends. Would love to know how you would do it if it was your piece/work. Thank you very much!

    Hi Sheri, I am new, and in my attempt to create 3d waves I ended up with too much white sea foam and not enough sea! I want to add in more blue again so should I wait till it cures and then add in more blue tinted resin? And then once it is cured go back in and create smaller waves? Thank you.

    I just watched this and I subscribed thank you! What about bubbles? I’m having a hard time getting rid of bubbles? Also I am putting dried leaves and flowers in my resin and glitter but it all flows together . How should I space the resin if I Mix enuf for the pour but want to do layers due to putting leaves and glitter in but don’t want them to mix? Thx!

      sandi gundersen you can use a resin like Mirror Coat, it lets you re-coat without sanding if it’s done within 72hours, then you can layer the things in each, one pour at a time. It’s a nice resin I’ve used it in very expensive yacht building and also in my arts crafts and painting. It’s quick to mix ,easy to use, I can coat before bed and re-coat in the AM.

  • @jillytiffen6305
    @jillytiffen6305 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yes I ran out of resin halfway through a base coat! So what’s the best approach now that most of it is dry? Should I just sand it down? Thanks Sheri..😁👍

  • @suzanneharkins5371

    This is good timing for me. Just this weekend I used too much silicone I think because my pieces seem dry but have a slippery texture :( :( do you think I can add another layer of resin and that will fix it?? I really don't want to have it all go to waste.

    • @sherivegasartist
      @sherivegasartist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Suzanne Harkins yes add another layer. Before you pour your resin just clean the surface with alcohol to remove all of the silicone left over.

    If you had air conditioning what would you do about ventilation? That's my worry about the summer days. I have a great air conditioner in my studio but I am afraid to work with resin with the windows closed. I wear a mask but I think good ventilation in the room is so important. What are your thoughts? Great video and thank you!

    • @sherivegasartist
      @sherivegasartist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stephanie Gagos my space has in the roof has the ventilation fans. I think with that a mask and only working for 2 hours max with resin a day should be fine. But it does all depend on your body also reacts to resin.

    • @StephanieGagos
      @StephanieGagos 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks so much. I think safety is so important and I love the idea of only working with it two hours a day.

      Julie where do you think the fresh air comes from
      As my husbands business for 20 years has been air conditioning, I can tell you the only fresh air will be what you allow into the room . open windows ,doors and
      Use a good quality resin.

    When you use wood boards do you seal them first?

    • @sherivegasartist

      You can do. I like to be wood tends to soak up a lot of resin if it’s not sealed

      Hannah Ahkiena, try ArtResin brand resin. While not considered the top brand amongst experienced resin artists, it is non toxic, has very little scent or fumes, and is BPA safe according to the FDA.
