Definitely looked like a bonefish. That drag ripping was awesome, nice shark!
Thanks man! Cant wait to catch a bigger one. Hopefully I’ll get better footage next time haha
That rod an reel combo you have is excellent. I've used that exact same rig to put 6 ft. sharks on the beach without much trouble.
Sick rod! looks like it pairs nicely with the spinfisher and got the job done😎🎣
I love how that spinfisher scream! Must me a nice reel! Cannot wait to get one myself. Congrats!
Last if you want to get into surf shark fishing I'd say go with a spinfisher or slammer 6500-7500 with 50 lb braid minimum the slammer 6500 has 40 lb max drag 7500 50 lbs spinfisher is 30 and 35
Are you crazy man you get put in the ER by a catfish and your next video your messing with SHARKS! 😂 Just fooling around with ya brother. Awesome video like always and nice shark!
@@RustyReels lived in Florida my whole life. Still haven't crossed that off the list yet.
They are just pure muscle! A blast to catch but a nuisance when not fishing for them!
Welcome back Rusty after the video about with the cat fish man I know the pain you was going tru that day 😂😂😂
Hahaha thanks Cabu! That’s why I had a glove on right hand in this video lol
When it feels like it came off. Reel like a mother... its swimming towards you.
Lucky me literally just ordered a spinfisher vi 5500 and a slammer iv dx 5500 lol
Nice catch,
I have a question, I recently purchased the same combination. I saw that you gave a very hard time to the reel. The reel says for mono .38mm 20lbs and braided 50lbs .38mm. Do you know that you destroy the reel bearings when you use mono or braided bigger than recommended by the factory; except if you know something that I don't. Again, good catch.
What size reel rod is good for small sharks and redfish
What lb line are you running?
I think this was 30lb braid to 5 ft of 80lb mono leader to a foot of wire leader
be careful not to set your reel down in the sand. Even though it is IPX5 the sand can ruin your reel.
@@RustyReelsYeah - I have the same reel and when I'm in the surf and a wave hits, the sand easily gets under the rotor and you have to carefully dunk it to quickly get the grains out, otherwise, it seizes. Would be great to have some kind of seal or barrier to prevent it. It's a great reel and super easy to disassemble and service.
Hey everyone, was that little silver fish a bonefish? Typically we don’t have those in the Tampa Bay area so I haven’t seen one yet in person. Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you liked this video! On a goal for 1000 subscribers by end of 2021!
Looked like a bonefish! Rare fish indeed! How do you catch a bonefish before a redfish lol
@@SuperJox 😂😂😂 for real!?!?
