I think it is worth remembering a couple of things about Jonas/Pogi situation. 1) The gap in 2023 was larger than in 2024. 2) Even if Jonas did his best W/kg numbers in 2024 (on select stages), his overall performance over 3 weeks was worse than in 2023. 3) His absolute power was also significantly lower and they were going at speeds where draft definetly matters, and was basically riding with Pogi in his wheel the last week and a half. 4) Jonas was lacking both the acceleration and endurance he has shown previously and you could see him getting emtpy instead of getting stronger towards the end of the tour. All in all I think it is very hard to say both who would have won last year and who will win in 2025but I think it will be very close.
The biggest question of them all.. will we see Benji Naesen in the Turbo Cross 3.0? If not, how many subscribers does he need as a challenge to do it after all? 😁😁 enjoyed your commentary there Benji! You're a good youtuber :)
One of the most exciting Paris-Roubaix's I've seen was the 2024 Women's Roubaix. That also happened to be one of the most unpredictable one day races in a very long time.
I'm really hoping to see De Lie make a step up in the classics this year. Almost feel like the last two years were trailers of his full potential and we're just waiting for him to be in optimal form at the right time.
What do you expect Lotte kopecky to do in the tour. And what do you expect from some youngsters who make the step up, like Behrens, TTT, Philipsen, Torres, Widar, Del grosso etc
Yes, Vingegaard can beat him. But there is this --> Jonas Vingegaard has voluntarily enlisted in the Danish military in quest of protecting Greenland from a certain Western Tyrant. Upon hearing this, Pogacar’s reaction was --> “ Yesssssss😚”
I just hope I will not be watching a repeat of the Lance Era. Guess everyone know what I am refering too. Those that were around in those years and even earlier remember how it looked. If a whole team been taken under the care of some dubious trainers/doctors this time it will be a new US Postal Service, or Telekom. Festina, Gerolsteiner. It was ugly those years and many (sadly even me) vouched there were no foul play. In the years after it became obvious so 5 years down the road we might know about 2024-25. Fact is that this sport have sadly been scared over the years and if someone believe it's 100% clean they must think twice.
As a USA guy where can I watch many of these one day races? Usually I would just watch the tour but after watching more of your videos I am in need of more.
Bini had a fantastic Tour de France but he’s still a Tier 2 sprinter, a very versatile one though. Milan, Merlier and Philipsen take 10 sprint wins per year and are competitive all year. They are the 3 top sprinters.
Pogi will not beat MvdP in RVV. He did before but that was not the outrageous monuments Mathieu we saw this year and on the cobbles he is a class of his own. Lotte Kopecky will not win MSR because Cédrine Kerbaol does a nuclear descent from the Poggio and stays away.
He was the strongest on RVV two years in a row, won one of those, and Pogi will not beat MVDP for what reason? It can go either way for sure, but surely Pogacar can also beat MVDP, he is the best rider in the world by far, no one can match his motor and power.
@ I‘m not saying Pogi has no chance but it is by far not as „we don‘t even have to start the race“ as Benji and Mr. Rouge tell us. Also, UAE might be the best team in the world but in my eyes that is mainly for gran tours. In cobble races, Alpecin is looking very good.
@@chrisridesbicycles Where in this video (or ever) did I say 'we don't even have to start the race'? I simply made a prediction that Pogi would win RVV. I certainly don't have the opinion that RVV is a pre-decided race when Pogi and MVDP are both at the start.
@ It‘s in quotation marks (airquotes) for that. Of course you did not say that, it just comes across like that a bit. I think all competitors are very underrated based on the 2024 season. The many crashes in the classics led to riders being called up as a replacement and doing races where they were not the first choice which had influences on the races that were their plan A at the beginning. UAE and MvdP on the other side had a super clean run which has for sure to do with preparation but also with luck. (things like finishing Roubaix without a puncture for example still need luck)
If you think jonas was at his best ever last year because of 1 performance on a climb is absolutely ludacris, he was far inferior in 2024 compared to 23 and 22. Otherwise he would't have gone down on the day even remco beat him. He will win the tour this year, and im sorry benji naesen the danish hater, jonas will win the tour, mads will win roubaix, cry about it.
He was not far inferior in 2024, but you gotta tell wtv it makes you feel hopeful. Anyway, pray for Pogacar not be on the same level of 2024, otherwise Jonas will lose every single time to Pogacar from now on.

I may or may not have received an invite for next year’s edition. 👀

That race was really good, right until the Velodrome. Absolutely loved it.
when pogi wins everyone says jonas will never beat him again, when jonas won everyone said pogi will not win next year....
Agreed, the women's tour was largely much more interesting and exciting than the mens last year. Cant wait for this years season to start.
I'm really hoping to see De Lie make a step up in the classics this year. Almost feel like the last two years were trailers of his full potential and we're just waiting for him to be in optimal form at the right time.
00:18 2023 or are you talking 2024 ?
4:54 João Almeida was already with covid there so he wasnt fit to do anything thats why he didn't work.
Great video btw
Now pog has a team i honestly believe all being equal(no crashes etc) that jonas never wins another TDF

I think Jonas only has a chance of winning tdf if he gets a better team constellation than last year. Sepp Kuss Nees to be there

What abot Biniam Girmay, Jasper Philipsen, Dylan Groenewegen for the best sprinter in 2025?

Max and FloSports but with FloSports, you need to use a vpn (set to Canada) most of the time.
I think it’s shown on max in America
You need 3 in USA for full coverage:
HBO Max (BR Sports)
Peacock
Flobikes
Visma doesn’t have the team to keep him in the fight. And 1v1 Tadej is much better
why bini succes in tdf not mention but others if they win 😂😂😂

fingers crossed MVDP can put a fourth RVV to his name

I think it's more the case of can Pog beat Vinegar & I'm a Pog fan.
