However Backgammon Galaxy is a real desaster regarding dices. The program is made to favorite the old customers by "playing stupid jokes" to the new ones, such as myself, using the "luck" of the dices. And I mean it. Two times out of two in two different games. The ONLY ONE combination that fits to the opponent to turn the entire events. Whatever... I've learned my lesson by not playing games in virtual even though I stay a low rated player. I just had enough of that type of virtual "luck". Best luck to you. And stay safe.
It's quite common for less experienced players to believe that the dice are rigged. We get this a lot actually. And we keep saying the same thing: The dice are not rigged. We gain absolutely nothing from this. Quite the contrary actually. So it makes no sense to have rigged dice.

in the second setup (at around 5 minutes, th-cam.com/video/emo_RtpZGO0/w-d-xo.html) the best move is 8/3 5/4* - not as pointed out 13/8 5/4* (which is actually a blunder >-0.147) - hitting is good but you don't want to stack you 8-point to 5 and rather want to say flexible for (a) closing the board later (b) having more return shots for black rolling 2+5 or 1+6. Even 12/7 5/4* is better than 13/8 5/4* but it leaves to many shorts for black on entering (+4 shots=18).

Thank you for this video but the ideal move you present is ... a *big blunder* (-0.128 according to xg). You're right about the 5/4 ! => Good, it's the point of the video :) But you forgot to apply your reasoning to the other checker ... 13/8 is wrong. You want to cover the field in case the opponent rolls 6/1 or 5/2 and play bar/7 (4/36=11% probability). By playing *8/3, you keep the checker way back on the 13 and have way more shoots in case your opponent plays bar/7* (33 against 22). With no negative effect as you don't care leaving blots (no gammon...). Perfect example :)
Kay im quite good at chess time to get good at... this i watched your tutorial video and i have no idea what is a good move as long as i dont leave a one i feel its good but... yeah im need to learn
Agree on the concept and very interesting , but on the third problem playing 8 to 3 isn't better in case black rolls 16 or 25 from the bar+ more covering numbers for the blot?

In the position, where your opponent has a closed board, you rolled 51 and hit in DMP with the 1 on the 4-point, you lose more gammons if you leave a checker on 13, and play 8/3 with the 5. Guess what: it is the better play. Thanks for the video anyway.
I realize I don’t understand the terminology completely. I know a gammon is when you bear all your checkers off before your opponent gets one off, and a backgammon is the same only your opponent still has a checker in your back board. What is meant by “loose more gammons” in reference to one move. Are you just referencing the odds of winning a gammon or is there some other terminology at play here?
It’s called double match point because both players are a single point away from winning the match. If the score was say 4 to 3 in a game to 5, it would be considered “match point” and not “double match point” because only one of the players is a single point away from winning the match

8/3 is better. Playing 13/8 is even worse than not hitting and making the bar point. (-0.129 vs. -0.064).
