Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of Hallows' Even or Hallows' Evening), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve, is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed. People see halloween as a scary day because of all the death and gross, scary creatures that murder people, which is why some people are scared of it. People either celebrate it as a scary holiday, with blood and gross and goryness, evil monsters like zombies and they decorate their houses with skeletons and make it look like a graveyard. Some people just make fun autumn colored treats and cut cartoon ghosts. Some judge any candy and they dress up as fun characters from favorite movies or tv shows. Some dress up as pumpkins, Mickey Mouse, or anything they'd like. Usually halloween is a combination of scary and fun, but more in the fun side, depending on what house you visit. The most common halloween activity is trick or treating, going from door to door to get goodies. Mostly it's candy, but some good houses (the crowded ones) have things like cotton candy, soda or popcorn. The most avoided houses are the dentists' houses. They give you toothbrushes. There are also Halloween parties where you basically dress up and go party at someone's house. It's usually the same as every other normal party just with costumes and halloween music. Religious people go to church and pray and talk to their family or friends that died. Others just stay home, watch scary movies or or eat a bunch of candy they bought. Some people go to graveyards because if is believed that Halloween is when the dead visit. Also, people carve pumpkins and add a little light inside to make lanterns. Most of Halloween is just all fun and games but it originated from people trying to keep the monsters, witches and demons away by using things like garlic, pumpkin lanterns and praying. Children want from door to door for food witch made trick-or-treating. It's ALWAYS on October 31st, like Christmas is always on the 25th. This year it's gonna Saturday. Hope this longgg comment helped, if you even read it 🤣
