Don’t get discouraged through this process. I started over at 29 and decided to go the route of Data Analytics. It took just over a year from the point of my first day of studying to landing my first role. Surprisingly, landing the next job has been harder than getting the first one which goes against everything everyone has said! I do think we are in a weird time economically and the closer we get to the end of the year, the tougher the job market is going to get.
Don’t get too down on yourself and keep studying and honing your skills. Consistency is key when going through this process!

I'm 28 and also on the path of learning Data Analytics because I've decided I want to pivot into tech. Thank you for sharing your experience, it's quite encouraging!

Companies like Dow, BASF, Eli Lilly, P&G, etc so not big Tech Companies need Supply Chain optimizers/Data Scientists. These are big manufacturing companies and do a lot of work with supply chain. They pay well, have great benefits, and don't work you to death. People have left these big manufacturing companies to work at Apple, Meta, etc.

Also, just because the job title isn't supply chain data scientist, most supply chain teams have computational work that needs to be done, especially with data driven optimization. Optimization is part of data science (it's a very broad field) and can be easily applied to supply chain teams. Optimization is often done in python and uses similar skills as many other common DS roles (coding, working with data, analysis)

Yes can you explain the case studies, where do you get them or the idea to come up with them? And how do you create them and structure them?? When you are creating them for projects to show employers? Thank you❤
Don’t give up!! I feel the same way coming into tech from marketing.

for case studies, try stratasctrach --> non-coding questions --> filter "product" or "business case"

Ideas: what if you do work with a tech startup or look for Product Manager roles at companies then go to their website and see if they need data scientist too and do the data on their product and that could be experience into Product Data Science roles but cons are no pay or even not the greatest pay.. not sure but I feel you so much

Try finding a new company that will let you do your current job that has data scientists and see if you lateral. After a year apply as a data scientist at the company and you will have a leg up as an internal hire.
Or apply as a data scientist at a lower salary/entry level anywhere and work your way up at a new company.

the market is pretty rough right now so don't feel discouraged. A lot of laid people and not much job openings. It's basically the opposite of 2021.

fck papaer and cardboard noises really suck through headphones. You are supposed to do a time lapse and play soothing music over the box screeches. Play it back with headphones at full volume and you'll see what Im talking about 13:33/16:44

Hi, data scientist here. Congrats on hearing back on an application! It often takes a pretty long time to hear back. Why schedule the recruiter call for so far in the future? I prefer to get into the interview process ASAP to keep that initial excitement going and stay top of mind for the recruiter.

Soph I'm on the exact same boat as you. Decided to make a career change at 29 in to Data Science. I just finished a bootcamp and on that study grind daily as well. It's the most difficult thing I've ever done. You got this! The fact that you are sharing your journey in front of the world is miles ahead of everyone else. I believe in you 🦾

Can you make a video on various Data Scientists jobs like supply chain, PM data scientist and Project Data Scientist jobs, ?
I’m in the same boat looking into different industries to be a Product Manager and Software Engineer and even an UX designer and all need different projects but it makes sense you feel like your doing a lot but narrowing it down feels like you can miss out on job opportunities.. I feel you
