Don't say sorry for black fingernail. It's nothing bad at all, it's life. :) Great video as always, very relaxing!

That is such a cool idea. Maybe i will do something similar for my father. It´s no problem with your finger but it looks painful (ouch!) But i will give your video anyway and as always a thumbs up! ^^

It's a great idea for a gift - I made a replica of my Grandfather's old MGB for his birthday just last week.

Very nice job there. I was inspired by your rebuild of another die-cast car that you did some time ago. Then one I used was an Essex Fire Brigade Toyota iQ, that was in red. I followed your procedure (at the time using paint remover for metal die-cast cars) and painted it Purple, officially it was Amythyst. Can't recall what paint I used but I got the colur right. When I rebuilt the car I printed off (in colour) the number plate/registration for the car, shrunk them both down to the right size front and back on paper and glued them on. Just to make it as exact as our iQ.
Unfortunately my last effort was a failure. Trying to do the same with a Nissan Qashqai J11. The toy was red, needed to be silver. The shame is I forgot to remove all the plastic parts before dipping it in the paint remover. Now I can't find one decent enough quality anywhere, but I'll keep looking. Love your work Tom, it's always good.

If you don't have any plastic on your body casting you can use orange strip to get the old paint off, you'll still have to do some cleanup but its easier than sandpaper and you won't risk removing details.

It's guaranteed the shipping would be risky and expensive but I'd have loved if you repaint one of my models so i dont have to keep it at fhe back of the display.
Dont worry about your thumb. That spot would either grow out or, like a bad squeeze i got as a kid, the nail would get gross and fall off. Seeing the new nail grow was a trip.
