Great comparison, lots of great information! Apparently they both provided a comfortable BBS. I'm always impressed to see you go ATG on the upper lip, I can't do that without having irritation. Does the Outlaw Evolution let your play with the angle like the Athena does or is it a bit more set like the Yates ?
@saguaroman4100 I gravitate towards razors I can go ATG under nose as they also don’t irritate my neck. The outlaw lets you play with the angle like the Athena does for sure.
I'm curious after trying the Ares and Athena, now what is your preferred daily razor ? I know you like the Parker Variant too for adjustability, is it still your favorite ?
@colletteclassic that’s a good question! The outlaw has more blade feel( not a ton more) and less forgiving. I will try this razor again with same blade but different soap and see what was the magic variables.
I’d love to see what your on the spot reaction to comparing those is. The merica is a razor I’ve been eyeing, but that outlaw looked super smooth today.
@@ColletteClassicnot sure if it helps. I own both the Merica (Stainless) and the Alpha Outlaw Evolution (Stainless). I prefer the Alpha. So much so, that I purchased it in the Bronze edition. I have never been tempted to buy another metal version of the Merica🤷🏼♂️ I’ll also say this, Steve Tinter with Alpha has been extraordinary to deal with, when it comes to customer service. Maybe one of the best. Great follow through and I’m not sure the man ever sleeps. Amazing response time. I’ve been so impressed that I just purchased the Alpha Futura and the Alpha Spirit that they just launched. Not a fanboy (I own the Athena as well), but got to give credit where credit is due. Alpha seems to have their user front of mind in production and service. Hope it helps🙏🏼
Nice review. Good information. Not a true comparison, one is steel and the other is a high grade bronze. Sometimes looks and material do make a difference.
@wallypankowski this razor is offered in titanium and bronze. I just don’t have those ones to compare to unfortunately. I was mostly trying to demonstrate how the razors shave and feel since I didn’t have the premium metal versions of the alpha to show the viewers.
Your lather appears more than wet enough and you added more water. The question I will look to be answered is, how was the resulting irritation by the end of the comparison shave.
@10floz30minutes this was a picture perfect shave with both razors. 0 irritation. I feel I never add enough water to my lather honestly. Watch tim shaves or double Y. I could add plenty more. I only get irritated from a razor that too mild trying to get bbs or a razor with too much blade feel.
