  • Berlin and Munich have always been dramatically contrasting cities. Their citizen and their mindsets couldn't be more different from each other. They both are among the best cities in the world, but for very different reasons.

Berlin is a true metropolis with a population of around 4 million. Munich is only one third the size of Berlin in terms of city area and despite its 1.5 million population is having the look and feel of a large town rather than a city.
The capital of Prussia and the capital of Bavaria have different historical paths, different demographics, different economies, different politics, different geographies, different dialects and even different beer.

It's a thing in some cities. Basically you take your old books that are just gathering dust and dump them in this glass cabinet for others to take. Some form of free second hand book trade.

Some people might be like in the video, but most of us not. It depends on your family, how you were raised. Not everyone from Munich is rich and arrogant. In fact, most of us are pretty normal. Love your videos!! OMG, each one is like a work of art. I have been very very fortunate to travel all over the world. You name it, I have probably been there. But I have been putting off going to Germany for years. I really don't know why. I just think in the back of my head that it's a country of robots. You have done what no one else could do. You put a face on Germany. Suddenly, I can't wait to go! As soon as this pandemic is over and there is a good vaccine, I am on the first flight to Berlin. The German tourism board should really be paying you.
And now, I think I'll go have a beer.

    Not enough complaining about drivers.
As a guy born and raised in Munich like half of the emotions I've felt when living in Berlin was either road rage or confussion about the state of humanity after asking myself "how do people live here" after I saw someone almost get hit by a car for the 5th time this month.

I can say as one person who was born and grew up in Munich my entire life, Berlin felt weird when we went there last time (I think I've only been there once for a wedding), but I definitely didn't care enough to pay attention to small things. And outside of not caring all that much, I also didn't really feel comfortable. I don't think I would choose to go there again if I don't have to.

I love Berlin. It is the (only) ONE cosmopolitain city of whole Germany. Tourists or day visitors mostly see the hotspots. But if you stay for longer discover the city on your own. Because all depends on the ‘Kiez’ where you are in. They all are so different. I think there is some place in Berlin for everyone. Just love it

There are poor cities in Germany - but nothing like Berlin.
It's such a special shithole, dear to the heart, but nothing like the rest of Germany.
Sometimes I'm surprised it's our capital, it's like a big, weird, vile art school with heroine, graffiti, ugly buildings and every nationality you can think of, the leftest of the left, the most alternative, the most heroine and inbetween politicians, eco mommys, high end stores.
Other poor places are less art school and less manic.
