  • Today I'm so excited to share this easy Gouache Painting Tutorial with you, where we're painting a spring Mount Fuji landscape with cherry blossoms. Even if this scene looks difficult for you, I highly encourage you to give it a go, since I think it's much easier to achieve than it looks. ^^
I feel like this is the perfect painting for the spring season and combines many useful gouache painting techniques that you can use in other paintings. So I hope you'll enjoy the tutorial and have a fun painting session if you decide to give this a go ❤

I really admire how these painting tutorials showcase how detailed landscapes, that are usually perceived as hard to paint, can actually be very easy to do.

I'm so happy to hear you thought so! 😊 It really isn't that complicated when you just break things down. Usually it comes down to only a few techniques, and then just time and patience, haha 😄

Lovely little painting! I would love to see a video of how you would use underpainting in an image with gouache to see how it pops through the next layer. I know gouache is opaque, but diluted a bit it really shows the light effect of the underpainting through the top layer. I am not sure how to control the paint to do this. Would you use a complimentary color as the under painting? Thanks for sharing your enjoyable methods.

Ohh I have never tried anything like that! Sounds like something that might work better with watercolors than with gouache, but it doesn't mean it's not possible 😊 I will look into it and see if I can get any good results, haha!

This made me have three mental brake downs istg. cant see the pencil sketches and since you dont explain what you’re doing and since i cant see the pencil sketches i have no clue what is going on the painting looked good in the thumbnail but honestly i regret my decisions
