Great devotion for today. I never felt freedom like when I realized that I can do nothing for my salvation that Christ has done everything that is needed.
I like the example of the handrail. I would add one more thing to it. The handrail keeps us on the path, but it also catches us when we trip and fall, and the handrail keeps us from failing off the path.
Because we have a framework for life we have true freedom. Babies, when they are born, love to be wrapped up. They sleep comfortably. We are the same. Under the shadow of your wings, I will rejoice. Psalm 63:7-8
In your talking about Eve doing what God wanted her to do, by sinning, I am reminded of the LDS teaching about the need for Adam and Eve to sin to be able to procreate an d follow the the earth.
When someone starts complaining to us about something that Jesus Christ taught us I only know how to change the subject. I forgot about that part in the book of Ruth about how Naomi got to see one of her daughter in laws become Christian. Thank you for reminding us about how a situation can feel hopeless when instead god is going to work his glory in that situation. If that could happen in the old testament imagine how much more god can accomplish through his son.
This speaks true to a conversation about my refusing to give in to get along with 2 14 year old girls, who quoted me script about their chosen name change, with threats of suicide. Two girls who don't know each other - and live states away from each other. It is causing strife, because I won't go along. I told them I won't go along with anything that is damaging to their health. Maybe one day we can forward that discussion, if they ever speak to me again.
The handrail analogy is very good and simple to understand Romans 6 is one of my favorites and very comforting. We were buried in death with Jesus in baptism so we may be raised up and have eternal life and no longer in death. [Romans 6 shows the significance of baptism and God’s gift]
If you watch Dr. Lisle explain the "pleasure trap" and the "cram circuit" in the context of cravings and addictions, you'll realise that we are designed to seek pleasure, and avoid pain, using the most energy-conserving method available. God the Holy Spirit can give you a new heart, but this circuitry seems hard-wired. His help can change desires, and, at least, help resist them, in order to avoid sin. Our crosses must be when we avoid pleasure and accept pain, imitating the One who did the same, but perfectly, for us. Deny on, and keep praying for help!
Can you do a video on the gates of hell? What does it mean exactly when Jesus says the gates of hell will never prevail over the church. Just odd to say: "Gates of Hell" , what are the gates of hell? And how does that apply to the church not being overcome? Is this the only verse we have to support the ongoing church against Mormons?
Denial of the law is a denial of God's design, intent, and authority over creation. Even Christians have a use for the law because it is a verbalized description of God's creation. Even Christians need that wisdom. The Gospel is the energy for sanctification, but even the wisdom of the law gives structure and a skeleton to the love of the neighbor and toward God. Even Adam and Eve before the fall were maturing and growing in wisdom and knowledge. But beware: Gnosticism and Gospel reductionism are going around the block and run into each other from opposite directions.
Yes, sin is transgression of the law. It is time to move on from man's traditions that are taught in the churches. Return to the Word of Yah. Come out of here my people. Repent from breaking the Sabbath, festival days, dietary laws. Ezekiel 36:26-27 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Nothing new under the sun! The idea of salvation through sin is ancient, look into the Shabbatai Zevi. Rasputin helped popularize this heresy in the last century. Now I see it in the pride movement
And be nothing but a slave to sin? The devil? The constant change of the ways of the world? To what governments and people and laws say about me? Been there. Done that. Nah. I'll take the Freedom that only Christ provides. That nothing that changes on this Earth will touch my soul. I am Free eternally. Kyrie Elieson.
Genesis 3:5: "For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" Yeah, we have heard that before, not breaking any new ground here, try gain....
@@MajorMustang1117 There is no such thing as sin. It is an invention of the church, an imaginary sickness to keep you addicted to their imaginary cures.

Wanita & her husband are good people! I knew them before they were Lutheran. Great message on the guard rails that are the commandments.
Thank you Pastor, hit right at home
“The Gospel sets us free from being defined and shaped by our desires.“ Beautifully said!

Well ssid and well preached, Rev W. And it’s what I needed to hear today. Thank you.
Excellent teaching, and great shout out for Ad Crucem!
Wonderful teaching on freedom and slavery! Very timely. ❤✝️❤
Nice message, thank you.
Unrelated...thanks for the link to the Wordsworth commentaries. Pretty impressive work.

The message of our age has been to mistake sin for freedom. We can see where that has led us.

It is called Queer Hermetic Gnosticism-- overturn the evil created order of the Demiurge by normalising the un-normal.
Bang. Exactly.
@@MajorMustang1117 thanks. Glad others are putting the puzzle pieces together
Oh my gosh! I remember watching a documentary about Rasputin and this belief! He was part of some cult that practiced it too, but I forgot.
Only slaves need a lord. Renounce slavery, renounce lords, renounce christianity! Rejoice in your new freedom!
